Happy Christmas guys.. I like the long videos like this one. And I really love Germany!
I miss you guys! Your videos have always been such a source of comfort for me during my mental health battle and it dawned on me that I never thanked you for that. So, thank you :) All that you did was always appreciated and never unnoticed. You definitely encouraged me to get out there and travel today. You are both beautiful souls and I sincerely hope your future as individuals is full of joy and peace for the both of you x
Nice one guys! We covered a Dutch Christmas market this year, so it's fun to watch a German one :) Thanks for sharing and merry Christmas! Lots of love, Leon and Miek
It's so sweet to see you both. Such a good couple! Keep on. Merry Christmas. Love you. Good to see you!
Merry Christmas! Enjoy this time of the year and remember how great your life is.🎄😎
The only travel channel i follow after watching your Puerto Vallarta videos, it inspired us to go back a few years ago and now we visit once a year, this will be our 3rd year in a row thanks to you guys, thank you for all the amazing videos, much love and wish you both the best💜
After spending a year traveling in Europe I learned how important a good down jacket and warm boots are! I wish I was better prepared.
Arc'teryx makes some wonderfully lightweight, packable and warm down jackets. They're high quality and built to last. Often they're referred to as the Canadian Patagonia 🙂
Loved your vlog......thank you & have a great Christmas.
So the post on 2020, cheers to you both. Enjoyed the videos a lot.
Things change. Been following for a while.
What a nice video from our home base! Have a great christmas time!🎄
All the best from Karl-Heinz and Kai-Uwe

Whats also great about to wall is, that it shields to shore of river from the street noise and makes it a nice little park. Kris
Lived there in the eighties during the Cold War. I was stationed in Augsburg, so it’s fun seeing all the things we used to do.

If you think it's crazy with dusk at 16.00 you should come to the middle of Sweden where I live. We have light between 11 and 14 approx. 🤷♂️ If you go six hours north from here you end up at the arctic circle where there's no light at all this time of the year.
God Jul. 12 Christmas holidays in Växjo & Karlskrona, 20 L. german Glühwein, glögg, mulled wine - I gave it away for relaxation

Ash is active on her YT and IG, and I’m on IG and Twitter but I still moderate the comments. Thanks so much for the kind words and encouragement! 🥰
Hiii, loving your videos...
If you go again to Latvia or Netherlands let me know guys💙 loving you)
You have to watch Billy Wilder's movie "One, Two, Three", which is set in the divided Berlin in the 1960s.
Good luck to you both 🍀💓
That’s insane! We’ve been to Berlin at the very similar time (beginning of December 2019) and while we were going through the same bridge (by Universal Studio) we got attacked by the other guy screaming at us to switch our camera off (even though we weren’t even using it at that time...). That left this bad impression for the most of our stay in there...
I just came across your vlog for the first time today, and I am going to binge watch your episodes this weekend. First of all, I like your manner. That is, you guys understand that the destination is important and not you trying to be phony YT celebrities. You are your genuine selves, and I love that. You share a lot of interesting advice and information about the places and people you visit, touching on history, city design and the culinary heritage. Also, you do a good job, a really good job in your camerawork and editing. The music complements the visuals nicely. I wish you would come visit Minsk, Belarus, for a taste of a sleepy former Soviet state awakening only reluctantly from its past. It retains some Soviet elements while adopting 4G internet, fast food chains from Cinnabon to Carl`s Jr. within only the last 5 years. Malls spring up along with the gorgeous flowers in spotless parks and streets that no tourist fails to note. I have lived here for those five years, and I would be glad to point you the way and host you while you explore. I`m working at home for a large tech firm, and so I`m around, overseeing my family of cats. And by the way, your video on Berlin`s Christmas markets brings back great nostalgia from showing Vienna`s markets to my sister and niece a coupe of years ago. Thank you so much.
You,re such a Lovely couple,great vlog
You guys are great!
LOVE Germany 🇩🇪❤🇹🇷 From Turkey
So sorry to hear you guys are going your separate ways. I've only been following you since your British trip to Weston-super-mare where I live, and although I will miss your down to earth content, if your heart isn't in it, there's really no point. I wish you guys the very best.
Mog-Gyver O'Neill Where did you hear this? I must have missed the announcement.
The round cakes are Oplaten from Nürnberg and the Glaskugelhaus is translate Glassglobehouse!
A little vintage Way Away for the holidays.
Fantastic video guys! I love berlin a lot and stay at ostel, a hotel with an east german decor. The soviet war memorial in treptow park is a must its very atmospheric on a cold winter evening. Damn it i now have to book again after seeing this!
Wow, I just subscribed here because Kara & Nate have finished their travels, and now I find out this couple have finished as well !!!!
I guess I shouldn't have used the word 'finished'! They have completed their goal of visiting 100 countries, and are now at home in the USA. Their 100th country Vlog should appear soon on CZcams, but they haven't stated what their future plans are.
Good luck in your lives guys
You guys just make me wanna sell everything and travel the world!!!
My grandparents an great grandparents on both sides cane from germany an loved pickled herring..I just cant eat it.your brave josh.
There is always somewhere in Germany Kirmes, Jahrmarkt, Oktoberfest,Weihnachtsmarkt.
Some fairground families travel from city to city like a circus.
Berlin was quite a small town (with the Brandenburg gate being the border, basically the current district "Mitte") with many(!) other small towns and villages around, until 1920 all these villages were incorporated to form a city of 900 squarekilometers (560 squaremiles) that we still have a hundred years later now, with the bigger ones making up the districts of the city and the smaller ones being subdistricts, with lots of those old village centers still being intact.
until the fall of the wall, for such fairs it was impossible or at least infeasible to leave west berlin (and there were also not yet big stationary locations like Heidepark, Europapark, etc in western germany {BRD}), but thanks to all those old districts and village centers there were lots of big fairs in west berlin during the entire year (also including german-american fair and german-french fair), usually mostly similar setups, traveling around for 10-11 months, always completely deconstructing moving and rebuilding everything during one week Mo-Fr and then staying for a few weeks (mostly including 3-4 weekends), but there were also lots of smaller and shorter events, and in december each district has at least one or a few christmas makets of its own.
i think you also missed a lot of memorial places very near to the Brandenburger tor. , not far from there is the Soviet war memorial and also in Tiergarten are some memorials as well , from 2nd. world war.
Loved your video, at first I thought it was going to be too long, but it went by so quick!! I have been to Berlin several times, but never at Christmas time and now you planted the bug in me!! Just one very minor correction, both the apartment building where Hitler's bunker used to be and the Ampelmännchen (the cute little guy on traffic lights) are a product of the East Germans, not a creation of the Soviets. But keep it up, it was great!
You guys are fun. The pickle thing is a riot, it's the German equivalent of Big Foot or the Loch Ness Monster. It's not a real thing and never was but so many people (especially tourists and ex-pats) think it is, it has literally taken on a life of its own. So that's kind of fun. The Holtz Markt is an area where squatters especially poor peeps, students and traveler/hostel types used to set up tents and that too has, over the years, taken on a life of its own.
Before the wall was taken down , it was the longest Grafiti you could imagine. The whole west side of the wall was covered in Grafitti.
I prefer Berlin in summer it is around 30 C and dry.
there are sightseeing tours on the rivers in Berlin which are quite good because the Spree River and some of those Canals are going through the middle of the city.
Wow Josh and Ashley both of you are looking very nice beautiful amazing Berlin Germany vlog well done 😊😊❤️❤️👍👍
Hello, I am Mahmoud from Iraq, I always watch your channel appearing as you wander around the world and you see different cultures and I wonder if you could visit my country one day
You should check out a great film called Good Bye, Lenin! It's set in East Berlin, from October 1989 to just after German reunification a year later.
Ooh that would be really cool!
That was a great movie!!!
Really miss your videos! I hope you are well!
I lived in Germany for almost 10 years and no German I ever met in that 10 years had ever heard of the pickle thing either- that is clearly an American myth not a German tradition.
Nanette Davis Also, my husband has never heard of the pickle thing. He was born in east Germany and only moved to the US at 42 years old. His parents don’t even know about it.
@@rachaelkramer9746 Born & raised in Dinkelsbuehl (Bavaria), never heard of the Pickle Ornament until I came to the US
Yes, really strange. Had this discussion between many friends and in facebook groups this year. No one ever heard of it being a thing in germany. (I'm german).
Hello Ashley. Quick question. Where can I get the bag you carry on your back. It is a great purse for traveling. Happy travels. Thanks, Sheila
Funny... I as just there recently, so this feels like a double time machine.. your and mine 😀
Oh I bet you loved it there!

This video tells me I have to visit our capital again.
To the Berliners who know each other: 38:37 Where is this fountain/stature?
If you are in Germany again (now individually) at Christmas time, visit the Christmas market in Lübeck or Nuremberg.
I miss you guys
@@artofverity8791 I think your comment was in reply to someone else. But, since it came to me....people can make whatever decisions they want about whether they live like gender born with. We live in a time now where people can choose to live with more fluid gender identity. I'm in a family, a traditional Male female relationship. But, that's for me. If Josh didn't feel like he could live as a man anymore, that's his right to change it. I'm sure it was hard for both of them to come to come to grip with it. It isnt for anyone else to say it is wrong.
@@artofverity8791 how do you know this?
@@mcooper5929 instagram.com/alexisrexx/
As a German, i never heard of the pickle as well. Wikipedia told me, that it is mainly an american tradition, but around the last century there is suposedly a german glas manufactury selling pickels.
So its basically unclear, where this tradition came from.
Oh, and for the Punk guy, that pushed you? They are kind of a thing around in Berlin...
And for another suggestion. If you manage to come to Germany again next year around September, try to travel through the Rhine Region. Its wine season during that time, youll get some amazing wine related food and delicious new wine.
So sad this is the last video. Wishing Ashley and Alexis the best
this is the last video?
Can you sum up the story please?
Josh had gender identity issues and it hurt their marriage and they mutually decided to divorce. Josh now identifies as a woman and she wants to be referred to as Alexis. I wish them all the best during these hard times
@@andrewbecerra7651 What? Did he state this in his Instagram or somewhere? Wishing all the best to both nonetheless.
Hope you all are doing ok, it’s been awhile since you posted.
Europe getting hit hard. Just need to stay positive! :)

merry christmas

Ashley you need to start your own you tube channel. Would love to still see you travel. Single female channel would be good to show us ladies how to travel solo. I will be the first to subscribe to your channel.

"-Berlin more cold that Barcelona for sure....", Hahahaaa!, Elementary My Dear Miss Watson, is more in the North and Eastern, similar that San Francisco or Los Angeles and Seattle. In fact, from here in Barcelona to Manresa, Vic or Olot cities in the interior of Catalonia, there are more Continental climate that Mediterranian, more cooler cities, and they are not long from here.
Hi!, Bona Nit!, I am Barcelonian and I just discover by casualty your videos about Barcelona and other European cities. One question, do you accept suggestions?.

I think you have been at this little tiny market about two. years ago. Kris
Hi guys. Hubs and I were wondering today we haven't seen a vid from yas for a few months and came looking. Hope all is okay. We miss your awesomeness! ❤

What happened?
Their Instagram is deleted and they are not posting and Ashley has no pictures of Josh on her instagram, so I think they broke up.
@@heathermcd12 Josh had gender identity issues and it hurt their marriage
34:09 Apparently the Christmas pickle ornaments are an us-american tradition. While glass ornaments in general are very common in Germany too, I don't know anybody , who does this here in Germany. If it was originally a german tradition, the knowledge got lost about that. But it's more likely that this particular tradition is an american thing - maybe introduced first by citizens with german ancestors (because they brought the german Christmas tree tradition with them to the USA) - who knows. It exists however the german legend that the glass ornaments were invented as substitute for the then usual apples, walnuts and other pastries that were often used as edible Christmas tree decoration at that time.
Josh with slightly longer hair, so I'd guess this video is fairly recent. I'm enjoying these longer vlogs, I hope you all have a happy and peaceful Christmas period whether you celebrate it or not :-)
It's an extended reboot from 2017... (I was there)
Miss that smiley face Ashley x
Your trip to Turkey was very nice. I think you should visit Turkiye more.
