But seriously, I was ON THE FIELD with "Donnie Baseball" and we had a really nice conversation. He's seen me on TV, and he appreciates the analytics of catching baseballs in the stands at MLB games.
Many thanks to Richard Bleier and the Miami Marlins for setting this up. The access was unbelievable and I was able to snag a few baseballs and "win" a funny bet in the process.
I also got some autographs, caught up with a few friends, saw the San Diego Padres hit a grand slam, and sat in a great place to catch foul balls during the game.

This is not a good guy. People pay for front row seats in the stands, and this guy runs down walkways across sections, cuts in front of them to squeeze between the person and the fence right in front of them, and steals a ball. Just because he didn't bowl the person over doesn't mean it isn't a garbage move; it is. This happened in Boston, theres video proof. He thinks he makes up for it by giving foul balls to kids; no kid on this earth would choose getting a ball handed to them by a 44 year old scumbag over catching a ball off a bat from a major league player.
Zack Hample is the definition of a garbage human being who makes the game worse for everyone around him.

You know you’ve made it when a person complains about you on a random IG post. Last time I checked these videos are fun, bring joy to those who can’t go to the ballpark, and get all those kids excited at every stop. I’m one of the “older” fans and I know that I’d be excited if I met my childhood hero. Who are these people to constantly judge? Great video as always.

7:26 Exactly my stance. I don't chase foul balls etc., I don't try for autos, simply getting the chance to talk with a player and get to know the person is what I want. I heard bullpen pitcher for the Royals (my team) Josh Staumont likes Pokemon and collects cards, well one game I showed up with a pack and tossed him it, we got to chat for a minute and he gave me a ball. Not my goal but now I get to add him to my book. The Dodgers were in town semi recently and I got to show Justin Turner my sign which read, "Justin Turner, I can beat you at Catan." (it's a board game) and he read the sign, smiled and shook his head no and we had a moment and that is way more valuable to me than a signed ball. Different perspectives and that's okay. Glad you had that interaction Zack.
That's really fun. It's nice to see the friendly/human side of these guys.

I love how your videos you go from the absolute worst experience in Colorado to getting on the field for batting practice and warm up. Lol.
I met Donnie baseball in 1991 at Yankee stadium before the game and we took an awesome picture . He continues to be my favorite player/manager. So fast forward 31 years and i just got him to sign that picture when the marlins came to Tampa earlier this year. I’m a die hard rays fan but I’ll always root for wherever he is.

Zack I'm sorry for the unwarranted hate you are getting on social media. My son is autistic and is unable to walk unassisted. A few years ago you gave him a ball at the Trop during a Rays game. He still talks about it and that ball goes everywhere with him, as if its some sort of safety blanket or something. You may not recall that day, but he will never forget it and for that I will always be Team Hample. Thank you for what you do for kids all over America. I does not go unnoticed.

Donnie Baseball was my favorite player when I was growing up, I had a poster over my bed and I had all of his cards all rookies and jersey cards and an autograph card and a baseball, but I always wanted an autographed bat

I grew up 15 minutes away from Shea Stadium, and during the 80s, everyone in my town was a Mets fan except me a Yankee fan because of Donnie baseball.
Went to a Jays game the other day. Stayed in my seat the whole time. Didn’t get a single ball, still thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

The sound in that stadium is horrible! I tried watching that game live on tv and couldn't stand it. My wife says I'm just weird but to me, it sounds like they are playing in an indoor pool. Zach, on my dad's side of the family I'm related to 2 former Pro Baseball Players (and one current NFL player). But the 2 former ones, One played in the big leagues for a short time and the other made it as high as AAA but later coached in The Majors
