If you look at the right arm of most models of the alpha series in game, and Delta on the games cover, most of them have a metal thing on their right arm that looks similar to a medical brace. My thinking is that the brace could lock, or is just to support the arm in some way.
Personally, my favorite weapons are easily the drill and the rivet gun, they're just so versatile (upgraded or not) that they blow the other weapons out of the water.
This game had some great spins on the typical weapon types because of the fact you're a Big Daddy. Honestly, this game kinda did what DOOM Eternal did with its weapons first. Even though they're vertually the same as they've always been, giving them new designs and animations and upgrades just changed so much about them for the better. Like come on, I found the fact of the rivet gun and the harpoon launcher being replacements for the pistol and crossbow respectively extremely charming. That and some of the weapons like the shotgun, machine gun and grenade launcher got such a glow up. For real, this game's weapons truly make you feel powerful, which as a Big Daddy, you should be feeling. And to top it off, those reload animations and that sound design? Mmm, crisp. Some the smoothest and most satisfying reload animations and pleasantly sounding guns in any FPS. Bioshock 2 was a great game. Shame it's considered the black sheep of the series when I enjoyed it way way more than Infinite. I think its got the best level design of all three games, it's animations and graphics are overall the best too imo, and it's got a touching story to it. I should replay it soon, I've only played it once but I remember really liking. I'd love to platinum it like I recently did with Bioshock 1.
Rivet gun, drill and the grenade launcher are probably the best and most versatile weapons in the game. The shotgun is good but I feel like in most situations I would rather use the drill for close range and the rivet gun for long range. The spear gun is satisfying but way too similar to the rivet gun and fires a lot slower. Although I will say that the machine gun has very good ammo choices. Rivet gun has a lot of ammo, good for headshots. The drill is just insane against most splicers and the proximity mines from the grenade launcher do a surprising amount of damage, especially when multiple are stacked next to each other.
The sound mixing in this game was terrible, the rivet gun, machine gun, and other guns are barely audible under normal circumstances. They're quieter than the reload sounds, which is atrocious
Watching this makes me realize that Johnny topside has to be packing to be able to shoot all this shit with only one hand.

Ja but the Big Daddies are also just physically stronger. The transformation into a Big Daddy does things like Armored Shell and Sports Boost.

The helmet he carries around all the time is so heavy in needs to be lifted by 2 people in order to carry it
That shotgun with the triple ammo upgrade is sadly the only implementation of something as boss-looking as that that I've ever seen.
It's the most aesthetic gun upgrade in the game.

The spear gun starts off slow and bad but after fully upgrading it to the max, it is great. Especially the rocket spear

Unfortunately, it can't be done best You could try is 4 fully upgraded weapons in one slot
Nope there are only 14 power to the people machines so you could upgrade each weapon twice or fully upgrade 4 weapons
