A lot of Marvel and DC characters used to have Universal feats (Superman, Dr. Strange, Hulk, Thor, etc.), but things have been toned down a lot in recent years.

Dude literally punched himself out of the Phantom Zone. People don't understand how powerful a Silverage Kryptonian is till they do they research.
He’s so powerful because he’s supposed to be based on pre crisis version of superboy/man. After crises most character are severely depowered, including new earth Supes. But prime disappeared into the “heaven” before this happened.

More powerful? No, not unless the character's powers depend on mental states or insanity itself, like in the Colder comics.

The explanation I remember for his superior power is because he's from the silver age of DC when Superman had the power to pull a chain of planets through space. Because he wasn't rerolled into the post crisis landscape due to entering the Paradise dimension he didn't lose this power compared to all the other Supermen

Each of his punches carries the power of the ret-con.
When you look at a list of feats that he has performed, he's probably done more impressive things than Cosmic Armor Superman.
The only reason I'd still put my money on the thought robot is that one of his powers is "writers have a desire to tell stories about Superman and so as long as people read comic books, the writers will make it so that he wins." But without the plot armor to end all plot armor, it'd be a more interesting match.
If you look at the full scope of Cosmic Armor, even without the plot manipulation, Superboy Prime's strength isn't even on his radar. Its crazy to say, but it makes more sense to compare Cosmic Armor with The Presence itself because they are both aspects of The Overvoid. The Overvoid is basically the canvas where all DC stories come to existence, past, present, future, or possibilities. To get a full picture of how OP that is, grab every single DC (even Vertigo) character, idea, or thing and it is both physically and metaphorically an amoeba on the existence of The Overvoid.
You really should've put in the part about the Black Lanterns. SBP is so OP that when a Black Lantern ring was on him he got enraged and cycled it through the spectrum and it stopped on red. The dude literally changed a Black Lantern ring into a Red Lantern ring then he released all of the built up power of the ring, instantly wrecking 5 or 6 Black Lanterns that were surrounding him.

He’s so powerful because he has the same powers as Earth One Silver Age Superman. The Superman who accidentally sneezed and destroyed a solar system.
Plus he has none of Silver Age Superman’s weaknesses, nor his humanity.
In fact he is basically a caricature of the Silver Age fandom. He hates modern heroes because they aren’t “good” enough. He demands that things go back to the way they were in the Silver Age and has no problem with destroying modern comics, therefor the modern universe, because then things will be set right again. He’s a utopian, and doesn’t care what he has to do to rebuild his utopia.
They also used him to show why Silver Age characters can’t work in modern comics, because he just turns into a monster. By doing what he knows is right, he becomes a genocidal maniac.

Also I hate to argue but super-boy prime does have humanity, which is towards his parents and children because he kidnaps earth 3’s zatanna along with Mr. Mxypitk (I can’t remember How to spell his name correctly) Mr. M was kidnapped just for finding prime’s home and the earth 3 zatanna was kidnapped for the reason that she was torturing little kids on her earth, also he still can get weaken by real red son radiation not synthetic red sun, gets weaken by synthetic kryptonite

When they find out all the people he killed they turn against him, and he becomes a basement dweller who attacks DC Comics on their message board for not being silver age enough, and for creating "fake" heroes.
As far as synthetic kryptonite, unless it was retconned later that isn't true. Only kryptonite from a Superman's universe can hurt him, alternate universe kryptonite won't hurt him.
Any chance you can expand on your point about him showing us why Silver Age characters don't work today? I'm curious to see Superboy prime deconstructed more.

I thought the reason he was so powerful was because he was never effected by any of the "resets" that DC did over the years so he is essentially as strong as golden age Super Man .
Golden Age Superman is fodder, your thinking of Silver Age Superman. But the resets have nothing to do with it, it's because Boy Prime is also Silver Age and he's not holding back.
@@89ludeawakening1 The previous incarnations of Superman were boosted to be around the level of Prime, thats why they were able to fight on par with him and not be killed the second Prime touched him.
@@williambrown4138 how were they boosted? If they were boosted to be the same level as SBP then they would've beaten him with 2 versus 1. No, he was all out wrecking them and was laughing at them as they grabbed him and we're flying. He was too arrogant and got pushed through a red sun which weakened him and destroyed his Anti-Monitor solar suit. But he still beat Earth-2 Supes to death with his bare hands before he finally ran out of gas and was still holding his own against PC Supes and they pretty much KOd each other. If not for his arrogance they were never a match for him.
@@williambrown4138 like I'd stated, he was a Post Crisis character meaning he was already really OP, and him being in a rage and not holding back put him well above the other versions. I do think they possibly could've stopped him quicker though if they were actually trying to kill him, especially PC Supes.

Original Superman is labeled as Earth-2 Superman, the comics say his powers took longer to develop than Pre-Crisis because of their slightly different origin (Earth-2 came to Earth as a baby, Pre-Crisis came to Earth as a 2 year old, so he had more time on Krypton.)
The two would fight and be compared to one another constantly until Crisis was around the corner and he told Earth-1 (who is Pre-Crisis) that his power was greater. But generally, they were around the same ballpark of strength until the original was weakening.
God, I hope DC doesn't give in to the temptation of resurrecting Superboy-Prime (although we all know they will). His sacrifice in *Dark Nights: Death Metal The Secret Origin* was the most moving scene in a DC comic that I've read in...years, really. He went out fighting the worst incarnation of Batman in all existence, with only poor, lovable Krypto to mourn his passing. Beautiful.

I find it funny that nearly everyone that was capable of beating him or stopping him was written to either be weakened to a certain state by something or for some reason, or did something to make him stronger afterwards
The same is the case for the injustice superman. Doomsday and amazo are absolutely nothing in that universe and brainiac came in very late.

I always figured he was the strongest superman because he is from the prime universe. In my mind that would make him the archetype from which all other supermen are derived from. Hes the "ultimate" superman.

Interesting video, Super-boy Prime is actually one of my main favorite versions of Superman. Alongside with Cosmic Armor Superman and Milkman Superman. Not just because he has caused a lot of trouble for DC characters throughout the years, but mainly because of his unstable emotions and unpredictable nature combined with all the powers of Superman and none of the weaknesses make him a very large threat and it is more ironic to think that he actually comes from the real world, where characters like Superman and Batman are nothing more than comic book characters. Like, literally this guy would be a precise representation of a Superman who lives in our reality beyond all the fiction of the comic books or movies. And also due to his existence outside of the Multiverse, caused by the death of his homeworld, he is completely immune to reality-altering abilities or powers of his enemies (such as the goblins from the Fifth Dimension).

superboy prime vs golden meta cooler?
I mean it's a necessity nowadays due to how CZcams is currently structured any family friendly content even if they are more mature comics are seen as family friendly is fucked. Content that is to mature is fucked. Unless you want 1 upload a month or less because the youtuber has to find a job or 2 and then maybe work on a video that depending on the person and video can take a while. Like I've seen people spend 10-12 hours editing footage down from 2 hours to 20 minutes that because they were fixing sound level and doing a ton of other things and if you're putting in that much effort ya kinda need to be able to support yourself.

The fact that he's still on the source wall is pretty scary. Basically he hasn't been affected by any of the DC's major events/reboots since he was put in there. Current DC heroes have no chance against an insane silver age superman

Have to depower him if he’s coming back. If he completely dominated Black Adam and several variations of Superman what’s the Shazam family going to be able to do to him.
The reason Superboy-Prime (SBP) is so overpowered is because he's from the Pre-Crisis Multiverse, where Superman could easily move planets around, plus he didn't get the modifications that the Pre-Crisis Superman did. Due to the events of "Crisis on Infinite Earths" Superman of Earth-One was modified to reflect they way he was in the "Man of Steel" miniseries, becoming the Superman of the Post-Crisis Earth (he has faint memories of the Pre-Crisis DCU, having a faint memory of fighting along side the Superman of Earth-Two). SBR didn't directly shift the center of the Universe, he moved planets around and that caused the center of the Universe to move away from Oa.
SBP does have one weakness: Being cut off from yellow sun radiation. The armor he wears was based on the Anti-Monitor's armor and it stores yellow sun radiation to keep him fully powered. That's why he freaks out when the armor is damaged, the stored energy is leaking out. That's why he was rendered powerless at the end of "Inifnite Crisis": Due to the armor being destroyed he quickly became powerless due to a lack of yellow sun radiation. Just like with the other two Supermen, red sun radiation doesn't power SBP.
There is a version of kryptonite that can harm him. It was created by an Element Lad in the miniseries "Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds." That Element Lad created a large amount of kryptonite and at first SBP laughed it off...until it started to cause him massive pain and touching it burned his skin. SBP threw the chunk through Element Lad, killing him. The reason that kryptonite hurt him was that it turned out that that version of Element Lad and his Legion were from the Earth-Prime Universe and that is why that kryptonite harmed him.
At the end of "Final Crisis: Legion of Three Worlds" when SBP destroyed the Time Trapper he did return to Earth-Prime (it had been recreated in a Crisis). SBP returned to his home and found his parents and girlfriend. His girlfriend saw him and ran out of the house in terror. His father asked him "Is this you?" On the coffee table was every single comic book that SBP appeared in. His parents saw everything that he had done and were terrified of him. At the end of the issue SBP was in a room checking the Internet. His trip home rendered him powerless. It is implied that SBP killed his girlfriend and would do the same to his parents if they didn't comply with all of his demands. It ends with him saying that they would never get rid of him.
