3:33 - He actually just says he(his brain) goes "EEEEE" when he goes to make a thumbnail.
4:11 - "追いつく" "To catch up/Keep up" (with the thumbnail) sounds awkward here, so I went with "gets away from me" since it means the same thing and can also mean that "The idea that he had in mind got away from him"
4:30 - Here starts a series of puns and wordplay from Roberu for each excuse he makes. 気ちっちゃい /気が小さい(ki ga chiisai) means timid, which I used, but I also wanted the wordplay from "little" to remain, so I used "little confidence" a couple times
5:04 - 文字(moji/words) もじもじ(mojimoji/bashful/hesitant) A bit of a stretch, but I made it "worrywart" since it matches sounds with "word" and also has partial reduplication, which mojimoji has
5:45 - 同化も(douka mo/blend or assimilate)、どうかしないように(douka shinai you ni/try somehow to not do) Wordplay with douka. I'm kinda proud of this one. lol
7:50 - Regulars is capitalized since 常連さん(jyourensan) is what he calls his fanbase
9:01 - ”粉落とし/kona otoshi”"really firm ramen noodles" (Actual, fresh noodles btw, not instant) So, there's more to this than "firm" noodles. What it literally means is "lose/remove the flour". You know how when you're kneading dough/rolling and cutting noodles you sprinkle flour on it to prevent it from sticking? Removing that. It might depend on the restaurant, but "kona otoshi" seems to usually be from 1-10 seconds in boiling water. I got different answers from different websites and videos because I don't think ordering it is that common since it's essentially raw dough.

the thumbnail for this Collab was indeed an improvement. But I guess anything is an improvement when you're at 0. and in this case he went from 0 to a 3. Everything Matsuri said was completely valid, and I am not surprised he did this in 2 minutes lol. It's just:
- Stock orange background with pattern
- 2 pngs
- text with white outline
That being said, I have to say, there is a certain charm now with Roberu's sloppy thumbnails. I always chuckle whenever I see one and he just uses a scaled down png of him sitting down somewhere on the thumbnail. They have become synonymous with Roberu himself I think it would be weird if he began consistently creating good thumbnails.
I don't want to live in a timeline where Roberu stops using his orange background with black text and pointing upwards png
Yeah, no matter if good or bad, it's his style of thumbnail and easy to identify.
As someone who can't read JP myself, I can say that Roberu`s thumbnails don't inspire me to watch the stream. Most of the time I have no idea what's going on.
And I don't translate every stream title, especially when I am on my phone.
I only do that when the thumbnail looks interesting and I want to know more.
From my point of view it looks like Roberu could gain a lot of viewers by doing better at making thumbnails.

Right, despite their questionable quality, Roberu and Astel have such unique thumbnails it's part of their brand at this point.
9:43 that was genuinely hilarious editing. Usually I find that level of editing kinda obnoxious but it fit the situation so well I just cracked up. With Roberu's "did you just sober up?" after, the whole thing felt like a legit scene from a TV show. Well done, and thanks for the clip.

Your clips overall are so clean! Description, subtitle readability, font color, camera panning, and providing of original video at the end of the video - it's all on-point. Not to mention there's always TL Notes in the comments section. Outro is simplistic as well - doesn't take away the content of the clip.
If I may just add though, maybe you could put 2-3 seconds of intro to let us know that it's "you". There are some clippers that once you see the intro - you know that's him/her and that the clip is definitely 😘🤌
Now if only YT algorithm would pick your channel up.. 🙏
Doing something like that never even crossed my mind since like you said, I try not to do too much to take away from the original content, just some light seasoning via little edits. I'll keep that in mind though and see if I can come up with something. Can you point me to some example channels that do clean, simple ones?

Suntempo without bad thumbnails is like peanut butter without jelly, sure it could work, but it's not as iconic.
There's only a single person that I know of who can still get good traffic even without an awesome thumbnail skill, and he is ProZD.

😮 It suprised me that they did all their thumbnails by themself throughout all those years with high quality and high creativity, suits well with their stream as if it was created after the stream.
I had believed that must be a team in the company or they hired some kind of designer/assistant to do these stuffs.

She's right, It not only helps with visibility and readability (especially on handheld devices) to have all the stuff bigger, but it also makes you want to click when the thumbnail just punches you in the face with the confidence.

I think the thumbnail would be perfectly good if he just used a picture of Matsuri wearing the clothes she's wearing - that way their clothing would be coordinated, she wouldn't blend into the back, and you could still have the orange theme tying them together.

I'd say 5 minutes tops, lol. Unless you mean this video's... then also 5? I usually take at least 20 minutes if I don't have any assets I can reuse. I think the hardest one was my NePoLaBo clip. That took a while because I made the custom "Nene karts" and then had to fit all that, them and the words in lol. That was like an hour?
