Five laps of absolute wonder! What was the best bit?
The Darraq! ... I LOVE what Mark Walker does with that car!
That the driving experience is 100% manual down to pumping the fuel pressure up plus everything else.
All of it! I look forward to this race more than F1!
The best bit for me is that this is proper racing. Where men were men.
Pre-war cars have more overtakes in five laps than modern F1 cars have over a race weekend.
This aged badly
@@austinobambino1360 that statement cant age badly..
T r u e
@@GhostOfDamned this couldn't have aged better
Modern F1 bores the crap out of me
Kudos to the owners of these rare and very expensive works of art, for letting us see them do what they were designed to do. Race.
Brilliant.
Goodness me! Imagine the nerve required to race those in period, and then today, knowing all we do about how potentially dangerous those cars were, to go out and throw them around the track anyway. Truly magnificent.
And some of those cars were on dirt tracks back then. Never mind nice new smooth tarmac.
They weren't any less aware of the dangers then than we are now. They were just more willing to face the danger and take the risk.
Love the Beast of Turin. I imagine passing it on the left is a dicey proposition, what with the flames out of that exhaust.
It expect it would be commonplace to have one's marshmallows on the skewers ready to toast as one makes the passing move.
This is absolutely sensational. The driver has to have a lot of core strength and control.
And brass nuts....and I don’t mean fasteners
@@MrKinglyon2010 😂😂
This is totally brilliant! Love this! No brakes no problem.. Sideways is always on order..
Wer bremst hat Angst.!
Roughly : Who brakes is the chicken!
Thanks to all of you keeping these great old cars running and racing after all these decades. Some people may not see the point to running these obsolete cars. I get it. Again thank you.
Man this absolutely mimics scenes from wacky racers. Pumping gas in car while racing, the stretch with a fin. All they need is dragon power and Penelope Pitstop and you have it complete. Absolutely loved this!!!
That guy sitting in the chair on top of the red car is braver than I.
Frank Bob: how brave are you?
And it’s then you realise there are no front brakes.... truly big balls racing... absolutely fabulous 👀🤘🇨🇭
We've had 100 years of technical development and yet racing hasn't got any better than this!
How can you dislike this??? This era in racing is the best.
The pre-war cars are my favorite 👍🔥☮️
This is the best motor racing entertainment I've seen in years!
Wow! This is the BEST display of true skill and COURAGE!!
The very best in racing!
I’ve played this race over 3 times today!!
3:35-4:15 sense of speed 5:09 smooth operater 6:25 manualy pumping fuel 6:38 - 7:15 longshot 9:30 last lap antics
It's slow but it's the best racing around and NOT a single wreck. Marvelous.
this is real racing...i can watch this all day..
I'm surprised the cars can still drive with the extra weight of these drivers massive balls this is the absolute greatest thing I have ever seen in racing.
If ever there was a triumph of testicles over physics, this is it 👌
I’m very fascinated by these pre war era races. I’m only 28 and I enjoy this more than any modern day racing but don’t get me wrong. I love all forms of motor sports
The 200HP is the king. The car, which Louis Chevrolet personally drove to the land speed record back in December of 1905.
Masterpiece.
Mark Walker is the great owner of that monument of history.
There is more overtaking is this clip than a modern F1 race, superb !
This was so exciting to watch as of late I haven't seen this kind of battles in IMSA or anything lately
I was at Julian Majzub's home one day when he was trying to recover parts of a Delarge (I think) from South America. His brother had come across the parts and Julian was rather excited. Not only do some of these guys build their own cars, they have the courage to race them. Coincidentally, Julian is driving a Sunbeam in this race and I currently live two miles from the old Sunbeam factory (now a block of flats).
Fantastic! I can’t imagine what it was like back then, must of been exciting to race such autos.
Ok this is freaking amazing!!!
Guessing there was much swearing from the driver of the Darracq in the corners
Absolutely marvellous! If only car races looked like this today!
They're making the Beast of Turin look like the Puppy of Turin.
Fantastic, they have some nerve these drivers , over 100 years old i think these cars , and here we are in 2023 watching (and they sound great too) .. you can see the effort needed too , absolutely brilliant to watch
Oh man, you take your life in your hands racing cars with solid front axels and leaf springs.
That Darracq isn't a car it's a rolling chassis, not one piece of bodywork. 😁
enjoyed every minute of the vid . nice to see the old girls on the track . thanks for the upload
Goodwood has to be one of the top events in the world, every possible category included.
Love this era,beautiful machines
when I heard the wacky race reference I laughed , ..now I feel old lol
The various sounds of these monstrous engines, along with zero safety for the drivers and no front brakes is a feast for the senses, incredible stuff and huge props to them for having balls the size of boulders to drive them this way.
Brave lads indeed!
Man and machine racing in its purist form. Wondeful..thanks for this great upload :)
This is the best race on you tube
nos arrières grands pères devaient avoir le cœur bien accroché pour piloter ce genre d'engin !!!
la peur ne faisait pas partie de leur quotidien
bravo aux pilotes qui se sont bien éclatés
Fantastic race. May be old race cars but still very capable! Loved this video
Wonderful to watch these cars AND being driven so enthusiastically - hats off to the drivers and owners ; so entertaining, thankyou so much :-)
Great racing again, but we would like to see the complete race! Both first and second races complete. Please, please🙏🏻🙏🏻😁
That Bob Walker is a wild man in the Darracq working that giant steering wheel. basically sitting out in open on a crate on a chassis without any body work. there's no doubt that dude is badass. I have driven race cars before but I'm sure if I could do what he does. the British I have to say know a thing or two about auto racing. the competition was incredible that out of those first five cars on the track. they were trading places so many times a person really couldn't say who was going to win the race until they were right at the finish line. but Bob Walker's kid ended up taking the win that was definitely some fantastic racing. I could watch much more auto racing like that for sure. these guys make NASCAR look like a bunch of slobs.
Music Authority: I'm not sure whether "you're sure or not sure that you could do what he does" Could you make up your mind, please?
This is proper racing much more entertaining than a modern F 1 high tech procession.
One day I'll try and build a car like these. Must be the most visceral and personal driving experience you could ever have.
What a race. Could watch a match longer race, but I don’t know what the drivers would think of that. I tell ya. I wouldn’t want to run into the back of one of those pointed back ends
Better than f1 :)
There should be a racing series like this
Beats the heck out of F1!!
The reason the cars were driving so slowly was because of the massive balls of the drivers weighing them down.
this is great!!
Best race I’ve seen !!!
A beautiful race.
Why is this so entertaining?
😂
Latcho Drom - La Verdine (aka "Running Man Song", Mafia OST)
play in background - perfect match :)
Brilliant stuff..
OOOO!!!!
unbelievable!!
magic!
I find this more entertaining than modern F1.
And to think that fearless men risked lives and limbs to race these horseless carriages with primitive rules and regulations some 100 years back is absolutely insane.
Love this.
Amazing!!!
I actually thought that there would have been more wheel spin at the start than there was lol
I would love to see how these things looked in a windtunnel
These machines need to be programmed into a sim racing game, or games...
why positive camber?
awesome cars, how fast are they in such a race?
Play it at double speed. Much more fun
When you fear not god or devil and only your mechanic knows how to scare you
How fast they are max speed?
Those are some fast ovens.
What's the average speed per lap? About 80-90 m.p.h?
Cool❗️
🚗🙂
that Darq is just pure mussle
Does anybody know what engine is on the 200 car?
grandmas when they find out bingo only has one slot left
That darraq could go so much better with a fuel pump...
Is everyone running the same rubber tires?
Who manufacture these tires?
Dunlop
They have to overtake S76 on the right side.
They seem to be faster than my stock Skoda Felicia.
The commentator said the darracq has about 200bhp
@@m.r.9127 Wow, impressive. I did not think
I don't see racing harnesses so must assume drivers would glue their arses to the seat in those times.
I wonder how much faster they would be if they had mechanical fuel pumps.
_Safety_ ? Where we going we don't need _safety_ .
Who let fiat s76 run against these cars?
Missing Auto Union, Mercedes, Maserati..... in this pre war race.
Yes, because this is a pre World War ONE race, not World War TWO! This is an era BEFORE the cars you're thinking of!
And to think there are jeeps faster than these legends...
Absolutely awesome. I don't understand the comments from people infatuated with the male genitals.
Brilliant... Its a shame they have to wear helmets! Scarves, tweed and flying goggles would look amazing. (i know safety is paramount)
Until the scarf gets caught in the cogwheel.^^
Skinny tire racing!!!!!!!!!!.....ban fat tire racing
Hate the commentary ruins excellent viewing
