Have you tried any of these snacks? Which one is you favorite?
I'll say, that the LAYS potato chips....
I like skittels and kinderjoy ps:Phill kinderjoy gibt es schon seit Jahren in Deutschland, kanntest du die nicht?
For the fun factor, Pop Rocks. I also love Smarties. I like our chocolate, but it can't compare to European chocolate. (Milka's is my fave.)
My personal favourite was the Hershey's and the 2nd Twinkie the first is quiet okay but not my favourite
LOL, I just realized you were asking for our favorites of what you tested. When I was a kid, I loved Twinkies but that was because I wasn't allowed to eat them and could only have them at my friend's house! The chocolate-peanut butter ones look really good, but I'm not going to try them. I don't need any more junk addictions! (Ding Dongs.)
Kinder Joy are available in Germany at least 15years😂
admit! kinder joy are mostly sold in summer because the normal ü-eier melt way to fast in the heat.
Im not sure anymore that phil is really for here(germany)

The feeling you described for the Hersheys chocolate was EXACTLY my feeling when eating it. It tastes like it expired a year ago...
yeah I recently got them at Aldi and they were gross! 😬
@@lovelyisabelle2028 Hersheys was the world's first to use fresh milk instead of powdered milk like what the Europeans used for milk Chocolate, Mr. Hershey liked the first version that he got to taste even though it was sour he said don't change the taste. But as a side note my father says that the candy that he ate as a child tasted better, because they used higher quality, more expensive ingredients, but they didn't have the shelf life.
"Butterfinger" and "Skittles" are also available in Germany for years and I think I remember "Fun Dip" (or whatever the name was) from my childhood (in Germany) in the 70's
So much fun! I loved Fun Dip growing up!
And Reese's cups were my fave too but not anymore.
Nice commercial moment when Phil asks: How do you eat it? And right on cue Deana responds "There's no wrong way to eat a Reese's." 🤣
Ready for the next one!
Tschüss!

Try the Cookies'n Cream Version of the Hershey's Chocolate its way better than the milk chocolate version!
Hershey's dark chocolate is better than the milk chocolate
Seeing the excitement of an adult trying candies and snacks is fun. It seems to bring out the child in people...
We love your content! Thank you so much for sharing with us.
Fun video! After watching this, I suddenly feel like shopping for some sweet snacks.
Eating Reese's right now as I watch this and feeling personally offended for that rating haha
We have Reeses in Germany too, I actually like Peanut Butter but would rate Reeses with 1 or less... This stuff doesnt taste good at all
I love how he doesn't sugar coat his reviews.
The reason that Hershey's tastes differently than European chocolate like Lindt's is that when Milton Hershey started in the 1800's he had available to him only soured milk, i.e. buttermilk whereas Lindt had sweet milk. This gives Hershey taste tones which have been compared to those which flavor Parmesan, and one gets used to one or the other - thus the divide between the tastes.
Deana perked right up when she heard Ferraro Roche. Lol

Pepperoni sticks and jerky were created as hiking, hunting, camping outdoors uses. They are light and contain quick protein and fats as well as fitting well along with other necessities in your back pack.
Reese isn't pronounced "ree-see"; the last E isn't really said. It's supposed to rhyme with pieces (the way you would _normally_ say that)
Noone cares
@@jonas8441 it killed my brain. I cared a lot
That's how I pronounce it lol. "Reese-sis" sounds stupid in my opinion.
@@amandawest877 Saaaaammmme, it was painful. I've never heard anyone in person say "ree-sees", that's weird AF.
It's Reese's, the 's is possessive. So it's a name - Reese - and it's their peanut butter cup - Reese's. "Ree-sees pee-sees" doesn't make sense.
Can´t help it, but I really enjoy watching you guys try food and eat stuff!

I feel the same way about Hershey’s chocolate!. Bleach!i So gritty! I grew up in Canada and We had British candy (very few American candy) which included Cadbury’s chocolate which is almost identical to the Dove chocolates.

Jonathan Thomsen I actually knew that - hence what I said in my comment. Canada is Commonwealth and we had British English and lots of British food when I grew up. In fact, I used to live in Hillingdon near the factory in my 20’s when I worked at the Safeway head office near Heathrow.
Michelle Jones Okay my friend 🙂😎✌️
We had Fun Dip in Germany at the end of 80s/early 90s. I remember getting them in the Freibad.
You can actually still get them
I noticed American chocolate and chocolate bars have quite a different quality than the European ones.
In my opinion the American ones are indeed chalky and a lot sweeter.....even the global available bars/candy like snickers, m&m's and twix.
Love the American chips range, though! So much more different flavors and brands than we have here in the Netherlands!
Looking forward for more stick jokes in future videos LOL.
Thank you for this very entertaining video.
Yeah they upped their game since the 90s. Now they got Joppie (dutch) and we got Bicky (belgian) so my waistline has drastically taken a turn for the worse 🙃

Skittles are my favorite!! Part of the reason is because of my enormous list of food allergies. Skittles are one of the most allergen-free candies. Probably because it’s nothing but chemicals... 😂😂😂
You need to try the flavored Lay's Chips too. They had a Reuben flavored one a couple years ago that was awesome!! They also had a biscuits and sausage gravy one - last year, I think - that was great.
Deana's face at 3:12 - just my thoughts exactly :D
Dude, the Salted Caramel Dove bar is my absolute favorite oh my god 😂
This is, by far, your funniest one.
Kinder Joy was made as an alternative for the warmer climates, where something like a kinder egg would become a mess. I have a strong mental connection to them and vacation in italy or greece, always liking them more than the classic eggs. Luckily, they also started selling them in the more northern countries.
Also "i'd put a vodka shot in it" is a very european mood

Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. How could you? Nooooo LOL Well, it just shows that we all have different opinions, and tastes. Fun videos, keep it up.
I’m trying to send my German friend American candy, what’s some stuff that you like that I should send her?
I would always get Fun Dip at the pool concession stand. I still love it! Pure sugar! 😂
Such a cute couple! Welcome to America, we suck but we keep trying :)
If you like flavoured chips the UK is the place! The flavours are endless (and we call them crisps!) 😋👍
I AGREE!! 😂 I’ve never liked Twinkies either! But on the other hand, I got a try the chocolate peanut butter ones. I’ve never seen them before. Time for a Walmart trip!

Little known fact - Why is it called “3 Musketeers?” The answer: Because it used to include three pieces. Back when Mars introduced the 3 Musketeers bar, it came in a small box containing three different small candy bars: One chocolate, one vanilla and one strawberry.
Favorite definitely caramel apple pops!!! Looove them!
I’m American and I think most of our candy bars and candy suck. Reese’s use to be better. They keep lowering the amount of PB in them and the chocolate outside is high fat little chocolate.
I’d love to see him try more fruity and gummy candies!!! So much chocolate. Lol
I love you guys & you crack me up! I’d be curious if you’ve had Rocky Road candy bar before. I love all the great chocolate in Germany! You even have it at gas stations which makes me sad every time I get gas in the U.S. 😭
OMG you guys DON'T have vending machines or gas stations with a shop that sells chocolate ??? Now I feel sorry for all americans 😓

Phil: 😏 okay
Haha that killed me
I life now for 5 years in Texas and my favorite is Butterfingers and 3 Musketeers. I tried so many other Snacks and Candys , and i Love it. But sometimes i want just a German snack. Last year , Walmart sold Knoppers and i buy them all , lol. I gave my Grandkids the Kinderjoy , and they love it, also my Wife she like the Peanut puffs from Germany , we buy them sometimes at ALDI.
Please Phil try more , try the chips with Vinegar, i want see your face when you eat them Hahaha.
Or Lidl ^^ weren't they brothers once ?
@Pustekuchen ah okay, so they are still competitors. We have both and I shop at both, Aldi really has gotten better in recent years, quality has only improved. And they try to keep up with current food items and organic produce. I do still prefer Lidl for fresh produce though.
Ich liebe die Essig Chips von Lays
Thanks for the fun video! I think I like butterfinger the best of all of those. yes, they always fill in your teeth and will easily cause cavities it seems. NEVER reece's! here are more for another video: Hershey's Kisses (similar, I know) tootsie rolls and tootsie roll pops, blow pops , good and plenty, red twizzlers, nestle's crunch bar, starburst (you might have done them elsewhere, not sure) orange hostess cupcakes (or chocolate ones) yodels, ding dongs, the cake bar with peanut butter in it, for ice cream: Klondike bars, Strawberry shortcake bars and chocolate eclair bars, ice cream sandwiches, popsicles of various kinds, bosco syrup, nips candies (I call them 'filling removers') sesame seed candies (can't remember the brand) lemon drops, LIFESAVERS, root beer barrels, malted milk balls (whoppers is one brand) jawbreakers, red hots, jelly beans, M&Ms, plain and peanut, fruit roll-ups....those are a few for now :) then do patreon for your dental work! :) Thanks guys for a fun one! How about trying a Turducken for Thanksgiving if you dare? Has Phil ever eaten sweet potato, or an American style green bean casserole with breaded onion topping? lol Maybe try an American fruitcake if your insurance is all paid up! (a stollen it is not! lol) Thank you kindly!
We do have malted milk balls and they are called Maltesers. Breaded onion topping ? Omg how do you make that ? Yes the sweet potato and marshmallow thanksgiving staple. That is TRULY american. Ach marzipan stollen... they should do german christmas fair food. That season is coming up. Glühwein, reibeküchen, tartiflette (although that's from the german part of france so maybe that doesn't count) cinnamon stars, bratwurst, eierpunsch... omg I want weihnachtsmarkt right now 😂😂
Skittles are pretty common in the netherlands, i used to love them as a kid and sort them by color.
Deana you learned German!! Gut gemacht!! I would recommend Twix, Poprocks, and thin mints or Jr mints.
We have twix everywhere

Super! Die Lick-A-Stick Teile gab es Mitte der 70er/Anfang der 80er auch in Deutschland in jedem Kiosk :-) Seitdem nie wieder gesehen.

A limited time they had the original Mars bar in Germany - chocolate covered caramel - miss it.
Should visit Hershey Park Pennsylvania, the Hershey factory and Kiss shaped street lights. Remember visiting as a child and could try all varieties they offer. Worth a visit.
I have had Skittles that were about 10 years old in a Meal Ready to Eat (MRE) and they still tasted great.
I love you guys

We definitely have kinder joy in Germany. I just bought one for my son yesterday in rewe. We have Lays chips too.
I know a lady on Facebook from Australia and we have become good friends, well as good as you can get on FB. We sent each other a box, at Christmas time, of treats from our country. When she asked me what a Twinkie was, I almost fell over. Of course, she got a box from me. =)
About the skittles--> i love the sour one
Interesting info:
Mars, Incorporated is an American manufacturer of confections (and other products). MARS made a series of candy bars all coated in chocolate that are slightly different inside than each other. The first is the 'Milky Way' bar (1923) which has nougat topped with caramel. Then there is the 'Snickers' bar (1930) with nougat topped with caramel and peanuts. The simplest is the '3 Musketeers' bar (1932) that has just a whipped chocolate malt nougat. The fourth bar was the 'Mars' bar (1932) which had nougat and toasted almonds in the USA.
The Mars bar was created in 1932 in the English branch of Mars Inc and released in two versions. The European version is actually the USA version of 'Milky Way' bar packaged with the name 'Mars' bar. The European 'Milky Way' bar is actually the USA '3 Musketeers' bar. The USA Snickers bar was sold as the 'Marathon' bar in Europe until 1990 when it became Snickers again. Mars, Incorporated global has companies in various foreign countries and the candy bars have changed to accommodate sizes, contents and labels over the years.
Sorry, but Snickers have always been sold as Snickers in Germany.
I've known Snickers for 50+ years and I have never ever seen a Marathon candy bar anywhere...
Phil, what the heck, you are a German and never had a Kinder joy. I'm waiting for them every year, they are perfect
I had a Hershey's chocolate bar when I was in the US, and I thought it tasted like cheese (I also looked at the packaging to see if it was expired, and it was still good :D ). Turned out that Hershey's chocolate uses real milk instead of milk powder, while all the European chocolate brands use milk powder. That's why they taste so different.
Walkers (Lays) Salt and Vinegar crisps are the best. It's kind of a childhood memory of trips to UK buying them in small packages.
They used to have some crazy types of Walkers crisps like Prawn Cocktail or Smoky Bacon.
Green Skittles are the one and only!!! ! ;)
Phil you ever go to Switzerland you should try the minipic and malbuner party sticks. I always needed this when we went on a field trip with the school. I imagine it tases like Bifi. Also you should try Zweifel chips (everyone loves the Paprika chips)
I don't like Skittles at all.
If ya'll haven't already, since this is a 3 year later comment, but I'd have Phil retry the Reeses. Depending on storage of the Reeses cup, temperature can change the consistency of it to either be more sandy/dryer or greasy. Also, depending on packaged versions, the singles will be different than the 2 pack or the 4 pack or multipack etc... The chocolate to peanut butter ratio can also be different.
Cheez It!!!
Kinda late to this video, but just found you guys & love your Vids! On the twinkies, if you dunk the original in some milk for a couple seconds then eat it, it is WAY better :).
How could you not like Reese's?! 😯 My favorite candy us Mallow Cups. They're kinda like Reese's but have marshmallow and coconut instead of peanut butter. Have you tried Terry's Chocolate Orange? They come out around Christmas each year and they are TREMENDOUS!!
Omg I have been trying to find something like that and always felt like Melo cakes should do a coconut version...
THEY ACTUALLY EXIST ??? 😯😯
Yes, Hershey's is probably THE American chocolate brand, but the standard is generally not that good. Not like, for example, Ghirardelli chocolate, which is from a famous location in San Francisco. Hershey's does do some good chocolate, but the basic bar is not one of them. You're right, it tastes a bit "chalky."
Hershey Haas definitely changed over the years and the quality is definitely lacking as time goes.
I just commented on your other video about Hershey's. I think I had the same reaction. We don't realize in Europe that our chocolate is so much better.
When I see you tasting the candies I am like: Dang it I have the Best of Both World!!! I know both of some of the Eoropean,German, and US candies. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Marss & Bounty is my bar till this day
There's Dove in Europe too, but not as bars. I only know them as seperately packed little chocolates with caramel inside.
Dove is a bar of soap in DK! 😂
I used to hate skittles but now i looove them!
3 Musketeers was named that because they came in strawberry and vanilla as well as chocolate. The new hostess twinkies are not nearly as good as they used to be. The new company does not make any hostess cakes very well. The reason Hershey's is not as creamy as other chocolate is because they use milk that has been soured instead of powdered milk like most other chocolate.
Hey guys my wife and I love watching your videos. I wanted to suggest some US snacks that Phil might like, even though it sounds a bit 'hail corporate':
Salty snacks: 'US' snack brands unheard of in Europe are Utz and Herr's (and a bunch of other regional ones, I'm sure). Phil should definitely try the Herr's Sour Cream and Onion (with riffles) and I would also recommend that he try their Buffalo Wing Cheese Curls (if you can find them). Herr's also has fantastic Barbeque flavored chips (much better than Lays in my opinion). For Utz, the Old Bay Seasoning Crab Chips are very American and if you can find Ketchup or Dill Pickle flavored potato chips, I'm sure Phil would enjoy their unique flavor or at least comment how its very untypical for Germany. Snyders is available in Germany, but I could never find their Buffalo Wing flavor, or their non-flavored products (pretzel sticks, butter twists, etc.). Their Sour Dough pretzels are tasty, but maybe a bit boring. Cheetos, Sunchips and Frito Lay chips are not available in Germany and might be interesting to try!
Sweet snacks: I don't have a big sweet tooth personally, but some unique American sweets would be the Symphony Bar (I think it's Hersheys) as it has nuts, caramel and is of a better quality than regular Hersheys chocolate. York Peppermint patties are also quintessentially American, as are Peppermints (the hard candy; can't find them anywhere across continental Europe). Boston Baked Beans, Lemonheads, Warheads, Starburst, 100 Grand, 5th Avenue, Peanut Brittle and Root Beer bottles (hard candy) are not easily available on the continent and most used to be very inexpensive and available in small packages. Trader Joes is supposed to have a better 'in-house' version of Reese's peanut butter cups (with dark chocolate) but I prefer the original.
Anyways, keep up the cool videos guys!
We have Utz in Germany.
@@KasdeyasVids You're thinking of Utz Cocoa; you don't have Utz potato chips/snacks in Germany. Same name, different brands.
@@dbare5427 No I''m not

I can remember in grade school in the early '60s, trading my PB&J sandwich for what my Indonesian friend from Netherlands got in his lunch sack, 2 slices of bread slathered with butter and heavily sprinkled with chocolate jimmies and garnished with sugar. His sister did not have the same luck trading her lunch sandwiches. For some reason she was given 2 slices of bread spread with mayonnaise and sprinkled with fish eyes. Americans can be tough food critics.
Of the ones you tried I liked the Dove best, but Hot Tamales and Twizzlers are always my choice for sneaking into movies and Tootsie Pops or Caramel Apple Pops for staying awake on long drives across country!
Love the Mars bar,I did not care for Hershey bar years ago but I love it now .Phil your taste buds will change over the years if you life in the USA for long time.
lol recommended the walmart video... I had to come find this JUST to see his reaction to the waxy crap that is hershey's chocolate... I was not disappointed :)
and on that smore's comment... I bet literally any other chocolate would probably make better smores... but hershey's has done an excellent job programming people with that meme

Kinder Joy here in Italy is called Kinder Merendero and was launched officially in 2001-2 as a "summer" version of the kinder egg since in summer chocolate literally melts in hands because of the heat... so in winter you find kinder eggs and in summer kinder (joy) merendero.

Hershey's chocolate is the worst chocolate on earth. It is made with butyric acid which is found in animal fat and plant oils, bovine milk, breast milk, butter, parmesan cheese, and as a product of anaerobic fermentation (including in the colon and as body odor, and vomit). That's why for me it always has a vomit aftertaste.
Julie totally agree about Hershey’s,
@@nateman10 I don't think you understand. The problem is not the fact that there's milk in it but butyric acid. Learn to read FFS
