- Hufflepuffs are smart! They also have amazing qualities like patience, strong work ethics and constancy. The Hufflepuff common room is entered from the same corridor as the Hogwarts kitchens... *CLICK TO VIEW MORE!*
A pile of large barrels is to be found stacked in a shadowy stone recess , the barrel two from the bottom, middle of the second row, will open if tapped in the rhythm of 'Helga Hufflepuff'. As a security device to repel non-Hufflepuffs, tapping on the wrong barrel, or tapping the incorrect number of times, results in one of the other lids bursting off and drenching the interloper in vinegar.
A sloping, earthy passage inside the barrel travels upwards a little way until a cosy, round, low-ceilinged room is revealed, reminiscent of a badger's set. The room is decorated in the cheerful, bee-like colors of yellow and black, emphasized by the use of highly polished, honey-colored wood for the tables and the round doors which lead to the boys' and girls' dormitories. A portrait over the wooden mantelpiece shows Helga Hufflepuff, one of the four founders of Hogwarts School, toasting her students with a tiny, two-handled golden cup.
Warm, cozy, bright and welcoming, Cedric Diggory spent lots of time here during his school years hanging out with his friends, and you bet Ernie MacMillan & Hannah Abbott took up a table everyday reading and studying. Wouldn't you want to be here, especially to ride out the storm? But who is lingering outside of the round windows leveled with Hogwarts grounds? Friendly students, or someone sinister...

Just imagining a schedule for watering the plants, hanged up in the common room. Making tea that we can easily bring from the kitchens when we read. Dying laughter. Celebrating Cedric's place in the tournament, BC house pride. Pets from students, some cats that sometimes pass by. Opening doors for cats. Making butterbeer in the kitchens, then bringing it to a study session. Try to help our school champion as best as we can. Making banners and enjoying the process. Clean up duty. Folding magical animals from the daily prophet. Everyone relaxes on a Sunday. It's not even weird to take a nap, they won't bother you. Staying behind for Christmas just because you don't want to leave. In the winter, witnessing the first snow fall through the rounded windows. Playing cards with friends at night. Celebrating new years eve with starlets. First years settle down so quickly. Listening to absurd Holiday experiences. Having a blast while there's complete silence. Cheering on the loudest. And mourning together. After the battle of Hogwarts, the Hufflepuff common room stayed untouched. However, the light that usually shine brightly had been covered in ashes.
Woooooooooooo, let's do all those thiiiiiiiiings! Specially schedules for plants, making tea for everyone, opening doors for cats and draping blankets over those who fell asleep! And leaving them a lil' treat for when they wake up so they are super happy when they do, woooooooo ♥♥♥

They think your wonderful and they love you so all you Hufflepuffs just remember never listen to the ravenclaws and griffendores be your self and try and stay by the nice people in my opinion the Slitherins apart from my sister (griffendore)and my cousin's (ravenclaw)

As a person who wanted to be in Slytherin, but was sorted into Hufflepuff, I've accepted over the past year that I am a Hufflepuff deep inside. This room is so bright and comfy. I can totally see myself sitting in this room.
Imagine- lying down in the common room during the holidays with a thick blanket over your lap, a book in one hand and a cup of hot cocoa in the other while your fellow hufflepuffs chat amongst themselves discussing what they’ll do during the holidays. Them saying they’ll send gifts your way and write to you. 💛💛💛

This Hufflepuff really appreciates the ambience, the peacefulness and the sense of somehow being able to imagine the cool breeze
Imagine being in the Hufflepuff's basement:
There's natural light throughout the day, of course, but at night it gets so dark that candles and "lumos" are almost required.
On chilly fall days and freezing Winter nights, there's almost always a fire going, the crackling of the logs a familiar sound amidst the backdrop of blankets thrown over the windows and hot chocolate being passed around. There are oftentimes marshmallow wars that break out around midnight, chairs and tables being moved around to make forts.
Cats are a more common pet among the owls, but occasionally a toad will jump out from underneath a pile of parchment, scaring some poor sleep-deprived Puff half to death while they're just trying to study for their Potions exam, dammit.
Card games are always in session, from the Muggle games of 'Superfight' and 'Go Fish' and 'Old Maid' to the Wizarding games of 'Mooncalf riot' and 'Exploding snap,'
There's a cabinet in the corner, always stockpiled with snacks of various kinds. There are granola bars, bread buns, apples, bananas, and oranges for anyone in need of brain food, typically the study bunnies; Bertie Bott's Beans, Chocolate Frogs, Dolly Beads, and Drooble's for the sugar addicts; bottles of Butterbeer (reserved for the Puffs who are REALLY having a go of it and need a pick-me-up); cookies for anyone and everyone (typically chocolate chip and sugar) both vegan and otherwise, because no Puff gets left out; and of course, courtesy of our beloved Muggleborns: Skittles, MnM's, and Reese's cups, candies easily bought in bulk and easy enough to smuggle through to the platform/via Owl.
On days with no homework, lots of Puffs like to read in the commo room. Halfway through a chapter, a cat will crawl on their lap and snooze away, rendering the reader immobile and confused because _whose cat is this_?
Muggy Spring days where everyone is grinning and soaked from being caught in the small downpour of rain.
Charming paper airplanes to fly lazily around the room, cats on and off chasing them.
Charming the paper Fortune-Teller the Muggleborns make to come up with new, positive affirmations each time someone plays it.
Wizard crackers are stockpiled for those occasions where there's cause of celebration or a Puff needs a reason to smile. The smoke is eco-friendly and doesn't stain clothes, and they've been charmed to go off with a quieter 'bang' so that none of the cats or humans alike get a scare of a lifetime. Also so no teachers catch them ;)

I’m a Slytherin and I’m fairly jealous. This is one of the most beautiful common rooms out of the rooms of the Hogwart Houses imo.
I have listened to a lot of ambience videos, but this one sticks out to me. It is not just a 10-minute audiofile on repeat, this tells a story. I love that the weather changes and that there are specific sounds in accordance with what is happening. It makes everything come to life.

I always come back to this specific one because when I started EMDR therapy for dying with trauma from a car wreck when we were doing the part of choosing my happy place I instantly went to the Hufflepuff common room. Shortly after I found your video and it was how I imagined what it looked like in this sounds so even if I'm struggling to go to my happy place I have this downloaded using CZcams Red on both my phone and my tablet so I can go to it and look at it and listen. It's out numerous times told me out of a panic attack. Thank you so much for making this it's helped more than you could ever imagine

(i'm going through the first 3 over and over because i got audible 3 months ago and you only get one book a month and i just can't help looping through the books again and absorbing all the details)

21:33 [Y/N] was sitting the hufflepuff common room, when she heard the slight rumble of thunder, Cedric diggory was sitting at the table studying for a quiz professor snape was giving them on Friday, Cedric heard a squeal after the second roar of thunder and looked over to the couch were [Y/N] was sitting, he saw tears in her eyes and walked over to the couch "are you ok [Y/N]?" He heard tiny sobs as a response, he sat next to her on the couch and wrapped his arms around her " it will be ok",He knew now that she was terribly afraid of thunder.

As a proud Slytherin, the Southern commonroom is probably the most relaxing and somehow intimidating of the four, but Hufflepuff is the most beautiful.

Faye Skelly it’s funny how I really love my common room (I’m a Hufflepuff) yet I also realllllyyyyy love the Slytherin common equally, something about the darkness and being underwater and hearing the water sounds is just so protecting and reassuring and soft and calm, yet intimidating!!! You guys are so lucky I listen to your common room often 😂🖤🖤
