Yes he's a dick. That's why he is so fast and got so few penalties for his actions.
Everybody's complaining about the lack of action and excitement in F1 but when a young driver shows no mercy on older drivers he's called a dick.
"His defending moves are late and quick".
      .
Really? These moves should be early and slowly then, right?
      .
Tell you what. Let's get toghether and enforce new rules making the sport even duller and more tedious to watch.
Overtaking only on the straight and only with DRS will make this the exciting, thrilling sport is was many years ago.

You should understand that Verstappen is very young and still learning. You can also see that he has matured remarkably since his entry in F1.
It's no use comparing him to "an old hen" like Alonso who has been driving F1 for as long as Verstappen is old.
F1 needs more young drivers. And it needs it badly.
Massa and Button already understood this, it's time some other follow and let people like Vandoorne, Ocon and Gasly in.

    • @nicomeier8098

He does and the most F1 drivers and teams think his actions are on the edge, but still ok and within rules and regulations. Even Mercedes have stated that this kind of driving is what is expected of F1 and is what is needed to keep it alive.

You are mistaken. Verstappen did not "mis the apex" because he was driving defensive lines and therefore deciating from the regular racing lines. Mind you, in the entire race I saw only two overtakes without DRS: Alonso and Verstappen.

DRS is designed to make up the time lost to dirty air, people seem to forget that. If nico was to keep pace over a lap he would have to push harder and ruin his tyres without drs. He only gets the overtake with drs because his car is faster overal so doesnt lose the time in dirty air the way an equal car would

Problem is that the theory in practice often doesn't work. It exaggarates the speed between cars when tyre life is an issue. It's impossible to defend against that. My own implementation of DRS works far better than this crap. At least then you have to make an actual effort to get past.

And even after that it took Rosberg many laps to finally get passed Max, simply because the tires of Max wore out faster than Nico's since Max is faster in the corners. Imagine what would be if Max was in the Mercedes. Rosberg simply was no match. A faster car, ladies and gentleman, is the only reason why Rosberg got passed Max.

Another thing is they were both conserving their tyres but Nico did a better job at it because he also had to close the gap to Lewis who was conserving too since he was alone at the front.

2016 was gonna be Rosberg's year. I know Hamilton is a more talented driver than Rosberg is, but Rosberg was a well deserved champion, he knew that 2016 was his last shot at becoming world champion, because he's spent most of his life challenging Hamilton and Lewis had always managed to edge him out. Despite all of those mistakes Lewis was making, Nico capitalized on those mistakes and got consistent points when he needed them the most. When he got his world championship, he was done because he didn't want to tear his life apart completely in 2017 going through another title battle. He was already exhausted as hell fighting Hamilton in 2016 so why would he make his mental state worse than it already was at the time. He was satisfied with his completing his life goal of becoming a Formula 1 world champion like his dad and left when he felt like he had achieved enough, People give him shit for his retirement, but I think he did a very savage and smart move, quit while you're ahead. Not alot of athletes think of doing that. Although, even though I miss him as a driver. I'm glad he is enjoying his retirement and is in a happier place, days like these don't last forever and just enjoy them while they happen until the very end.

I have a feeling most people watching this know more about the mechanics of an F1 cars, driving and hopefully F1 gaming. I want to ask a question about Rosberg's throttle/brake use on the turn at around 0:50 and then at 0:57. I'm trying to master driving without any assists (using a controller, not a wheel), and the main problems I have are braking points and accelerating too quickly while either turning too much or having a wheel on the kerb.
The reason I'm pointing out the specific turns I mentioned above is because the brake indicator on the left shows that he's quite heavy on the brakes while making a a significant turn at 190kph and then at around 120kph. I think it's pretty clear I don't have a great understanding about driving mechanics, but shouldn't that cause the breaks to lock? Is he going easier on the brakes? I concede that obviously the game physics don't EXACTLY match real driving, but any insight in simple terms would be hugely helpful I think haha
