THANK YOU for saving me hours of headaches!! This is exactly what I needed to do.
Glad I could help!
Thanks, you’re the first person to explain ‘color tolerance’ and how far you can go with it.
I had no idea that you could go up to 200, and what difference it would make.
Glad it was helpful!
THANK YOU! THANK YOU! this was pulling what little hair i had left out of my head!!!
Hello. new update stopped my cricut from being able to select Simple, Moderate or Complex It goes passed it. Needing to clean up an image If you know of another way? Thank you
Did you ever find a solution!? This is frustrating!
Same issue here and I can’t find any info on how to fix it

Change color tolerance to 100
Praise Be! THANK YOU! I almost gave up on something I really love!😅
Awwww man life saver I’m new to the cricut game this was so helpful
Glad I could help, I remember just starting out and it could be frustrating not knowing how to do this!
Omg! That's saves me from deleting the image and trying to find a new one over and over again!
One question, what do you do if it's colorful? Put in how many there are?
Thank you for sharing this tip. I have never seen this before! There are some images that I would like to try this on. 🙂
Glad it was helpful!
Could you please do a video on how to fix the problem using a iPhone? I can find the color tolerance option and it’s still not making lines crisp. but I can’t find the option to choose only two colors.
Did u figure it out
Right did u?
No unfortunately I did not
TY so much
Should I just use complex every time? I’d this works I will save so much time. What I’ve been doing is taking the image to another program and basically tracing over it with a fatter darker line. Pretty much redrawing the whole thing. I’m gonna thank you in advance pre trial cause I believe you.
Thank you
Does anyone else not have the option to select simple, moderately complex, or complex? I just purchased a cricut maker 3 and I do not have these options. I have been searching everywhere for others experiencing this and am not finding any info on it. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but this did not correct the issue. TY!
Im experiencing the same problem too
Its because the new updates, these options are no longer exist and there is no other solution
Why don't I have any of those options question mark
I only have multiple layer, single air and flat graphic as an option
You blew my mind when you grabbed the image from your desktop and dragged it in. Omg
Glad I could show you something new!
I cannot find the “ select image type”
Hey Jamieholderman9980
I am having the same problem..... did you happen to find a solution!?
Do "remove background" and "complex" only work if subscribed to Cricut Access? (I must have missed that in the tutorial.)
Yes they do, but you can still remove the parts you don't want by clicking on those areas.
It doesn't allow me to chose image type... Help!
Can this be done from an iPad or only on a computer?
Yes, it'll be the same on an iPad
Is there a new update? I don't have this option to give any image type?
Does this help when you are using a jpeg image and want to use Print then cut? Thanks!
Thanks for your question. No, this works best for cutting out around shapes.
My image skipped this part and downloaded.
What did i do wrong?
Hi, thank you for this video.
Yesterday I tried all what your suggesting off tricks - it helps but small letters stil gets bumpy not matter what I did, the big part off the logo was perfect. I have a logo from a client, and exportet in cricut, got bad no matter the settings - tried to recreate the smalle letter and thats didden't go well either. Do you have and advice to small letters getting no bumps and lumps?
Seems like a perfect file on screen in another design program and as saved file, gets distorted when its uploaded in design space and uploade on canvas on my computer. Don't know why?
The small letters are always the trickiest. If the logo is from a client, you could always ask them if they have it in a png format. Often companies will have it saved in different formats but will just send the jpeg. Hope this helps and good luck!
I got a PNG format from her, but its stil made them bumpy... even at my vinylsheet when it was cutting 3 at a time, it did the smal letters diffent uneven? I simply don't understand how, its possible. Its like when I put it on the workspace, there happens something. @@CricutTime The png lookt all fine, I tryid different formats, but ended up with a JPG
@@JudithKrautwald Have you figured anything out with this? I've recently started having this issue. I used to not have it at all, I have images that I uploaded a few months ago with no problem and if I upload them again now they look all messed up. I've tried uploading my images with transparency already in place, png format, I've played with settings. I can't figure out how this is even possible to have a black and transparent image not come out smooth with color tolerance up all the way.
@@JudithKrautwald I figured out a solution. Convert your file into an SVG. Adobe Express has a free PNG to SVG converter if you need it.
I have none of these options on my iPad
Thanks for the feedback! I'll have to give it a go on my iPad and see what the options are on there as opposed to my computer.
There a MANY options that ARE NOT available on iPad. This is ONLY for a computer!
Do you notice an issue with your images enlarging when you upload too? This is also pixelating the image slightly, any solution for this?
If there is a little bit of pixelation, that's when the fine tuning comes into play, adjusting the color tolerance by increments of 5 or less until it is how you would like it. This can take a while though!
Thanks - any idea why it does that though? Surely it would make sense just to import the size it is, like photoshop does?@@CricutTime
Ugh, I don't have that option on my iPad. Any suggestions?
Us iPad users really have the short end of the stick 💔
What if it still doesn’t work??
THE MORE OPTIONS ISN'T SHOWING NOW. :(
this did not wotk for me, what should i do?
Hmm... you could try editing the picture and increasing the contrast before you upload it into design space. I'm not sure what you are using, but on my iPhone and Mac, when an image is in my photos I can click edit, then play around with the shadows, highlights and contrast. If there is more contrast between the background and the design, Design space might be able to distinguish them better. Let me know how it goes!
Can you show how to do this on an iPad plz
Thanks for the idea, I'll try it out
So frustrated. This did not work on one of my most popular designs I have from a google image. I am new to Cricut. I had a silhouette before and it was SO much easier to use for making traces from google images. So many more advanced features to make it look smoother. AHHHH
After uploading image scroll down on page on the left hand side - you will see the area to change color tolerance
I literally have the easiest shape with a large resolution, nothing is coming out clean
THANK YOU
