Much respect, man. She set the path for all the younger singers. You need to rewatch this performance solo, no reacting, no interaction with anyone. You'll pick up on a nuance or two that you may have missed. In my younger days (still young, just 41...lol) I had Philippino family friends and they all raved about Regine all the time. We are very blessed to have experienced her in our lifetime. I feel the same way about Dimash.

REGINE IS THE VOCAL BIBLE! A true master of her craft. Her STREISAND influence can clearly be heard and seen in her rendition of A PIECE OF SKY. its own composer has placed her on a tier with Barbra as his 2 favorite singers.
Her immense vocal training by her father served her well and continues to be evident in her 30+ years reign as QUEEN and LIVING LEGEND of the Philippine music industry and in her iconic performances of SOMETIME, SOMEWHERE, LIGHT OF A MILLION MORNINGS, LOVE STORY (Where do I begin) GO THE DISTANCE and I DONT WANNA MISS A THING to name a few.
She covers and "Reginifies" the songs she sings like COME ON IN OUT OF THE RAIN (Myx), as well as the songs of Whitney and Mariah, Angela Bofill and her favorite standards like Manilow's, Carpenters' and even Broadway hits.

She's the Asia's Songbird. Many singers of today look up to her and idolize her including Morissette Amon and Katrina Velarde,also Sarah Geronimo, she was also the mentor of Sarah Geronimo. She's now 50 turning 51 on April of this year. What you've said is true, she's really has a very wide range. She can go as low as A2,or sometimes F2 even as a Lyric Soprano/ Lyric Coloratura Soprano. She's in the Music Industry for more than 33 years and she went first in the Music Industry before Mariah, for several years. I remember this was the 2nd night of her concert and wasnt fully 100% well. She was rushed to the hospital after of dehydration and fatigue. She was groomed by her parents musically starting at an early age. But her Dad was the biggest influence to her musical training of the dynamics, techniques and vocal control aspect. Her Dad used to let herself submerged in water, started from waist or belly during the earlier days and eventually going deeper up until like the neck on the latter part of her training while singing a song, She started singing at 6 yrs old, joined contests but wasnt really fortunate to win, At 14, from Southern Leyte, her whole family moved to Bulacan, ouside the capital , Manila. She had competed in a very tough nationwide televised singing competion, Ang Bagong Kampeon ( "The New Champion" ), which she defended her reign for record weeks.The all they say, the rest is history...

A no match of putting alot of octaves in all songs she's performing, giving us shock waves which were not expecting all those levels of pipes executed, which original artist never did in the first place, too risky.
