- Palestinian scholar Hanan Ashrawi says Israel’s latest assault on Gaza is turning life in the besieged territory into “sheer hell,” aided by U.S. military and diplomatic support. “Israel has total license to use unbridled power to kill and destroy and maim and get away with it,” Ashrawi says. We also speak with Rashid Khalidi, Edward Said professor of modern Arab studies at Columbia University, who says President Joe Biden’s continued defense of Israeli actions reflects long-standing erasure and dehumanization of Palestinians. “One wonders what proportion you have to have of Arab deaths, of Palestinian deaths, over Israeli deaths. Is it 20 to 1 before the United States finally begins to recognize that this is not legitimate self-defense?” Khalidi says. “This is a perfect illustration of the bias that has been a feature of American policy for many, many years.”

I have Rashid Khalidi's book, "The Hundred Years War on Palestine". It's meticulously researched and referenced, as well as being a moving personal history. I recommend it to anyone wanting to know more about the history of Palestine over the last hundred years.

What is needed is a documentary about everything, shown in theaters, libraries, streamed, and on DVD. Anyone who relies on mainstream media is denied the truth.

The Palestinians have the right to self defense and a souveraign state. They also have the right to return and to determine their own destiny.
It's David against Goliath. An apartheid state with endless funds and a huge and extremely effective military with the most advanced of all weapons aggressively attacks the Palestinian people that neither have food nor medicine, have their water and electricity supply controlled and limited. All of this is done to an already heavily oppressed people that mostly protests peacefully and gets gunned down(women, children, people with disabilities, journalists, medics, etc) or fights against the racist apartheid occupiers who want them all dead and ethnically cleansed from "the Jewish state". When Hamas or other groups fight back against the mighty Israeli military with a few rocket launchers to respond to well targeted bombings of schools and hospitals in Gaza, the Israeli state responds with hundreds of more murders of innocent oppressed who live in small racially segregated areas, where there is nowhere to run.

Strange Hanan Ashrawi says things that could be found in ethnic studies teaching at it's basic level (great I agree). But what has me worried is the statements regarding Palestinian world unity. Example if the Warsaw ghetto uprising of 1943 would of had press coverage and the same statement of Jewish world unity was made, what would it accomplish. (Nothing) without the allied victory the European Jew would of been wiped of the European map. What is happening in Israel is genocide and without direct military force against the Israeli armed forces we are going to see the Palestinian population in Israel wiped out. China, US, England, France, India, and Russia have the power to unify and stop Israel. Sometimes I wonder with the way the world is today and was during WW2 that if the knowledge of the genocide occurring in Europe was known to the general public that it might not of made any difference to how long it took Russia and the US to enter the war. Palestinian people my prayers are with you I live in Windsor California and the same sickness of greed and hate that has devastated your homeland is re-emerging in power in mine.
