03:43 There is a ‘mechanic’ known as a “yo-yo sway”. If you are not at war and there is a diplomatic sway. Let’s say it’s 2 minor powers. You want minor power 1 as a subject, but they won’t give it to you. Fully support minor power 2. Minor power 1 now is like “Oh, crap, I’m gonna lose!” Now you should be able to support minor power 1 by asking them to be your subject. You can also do this for options like transfer states etc. It doesn’t always work, and sometimes the thumbs up and down aren’t correctly displayed in the 1st screen so make sure to click on the 1st option (example: ask for transfer state) to get to the 2nd options (example: the actual states selection) where the thumbs are shown correctly.
Do I make sense, English is not my 1st language.

That makes sense, that's something I've noticed while playing, cool to see there's a name for it.

I'm really enjoying this gameplay, China has so many things to try. Maybe you might want to pass religious school and healthcare because confuctionism is more a philosophy than a religion and it is quite neutral politically speaking and in game. Also It might be helpful to reduce the power of the landowners.

38:40 agreed! I've been watching Quill18's Shogunate series, and really appreciating the attention he's paid to fine-tuning his economic growth. It's fun seeing you doing some of the same here :)

Highly suggest to prioritize empiricism. It gives you literacy by wealth. Which is good to help spread and tech.

Are you going to annex Tibet and Joseon eventually or are you keeping them as your puppets?

Most likely keep them around. We already have so much land and pop that we don't really need to expand directly.

Slowly going through these episodes so sorry for the delay here, but Henan should be a soft-e, more like "huh-nan" or ironically even "her-nan".
Also a stupid question from a total noob here but I'm realizing still don't understand how we won against the British and therefore don't understand how far behind we are relative to the other powers - I'd seen plenty of other players and AI's die despite overwhelming numbers - maybe it has to do with how you condensed the armies at the beginning? Would love to understand the thought process there.

We we're able to win largely due to how bad the AI is at naval invasions. In a straight up fight on a normal frontline, the AI would wipe the floor to us due to how advanced their tech is relative to our own. Since the AI tends to naval invade with really small armies or navies then its easy to fight them off. Doubly so since we had Russian troops in the same state that actually match up decently to GB's.
