- In this episode, I go land-based squid fishing and salmon fishing at Ardrossan Jetty. Fishing in South Australia can be challenging at times but we still managed to catch some nice fish and squid!

I used to catch rays of the end with whole squid heads, some of em bent forged 8/0 steel hooks straight!! Great fun on lighter game gear. And never know when a mully or large snapper might eat it. 😉😉

Happy you got a PB. but if you want to play with the big salmon head down further to the bottom end of Y.P. , try Browns beach in Innes National Park to start but so many other places. This is an easy place to get to and fish, nothing like it was in the 70s, before they graded a new road through Stenhouse bay area. Before this you came from the opposite direction on bad tracks and had to drive through sand drifts and usually got stuck. I did it many times in a HR Holden wagon, Yeh I am that old!

My local jetty. Plenty of grubs always about the place here unfortunately. Went for a walk out the jetty a few weeks ago and someone had dumped fish frames all along the jetty... they were literally from the first steps to the end 🤬
