- After watching 50 First Dates, Toni was eager to check out another Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore collaboration so decided to check out "The Wedding Singer". I remember seeing this one and really enjoying it years ago and it was fun to introduce it to Toni!

That’s Drew Barrymore real reaction to hearing that song. She refused to listen to what Adam wrote before they filmed it. She wanted it to be genuine
That is so cool!
I think Toni would really love Blended! Adam and Drew have such good chemistry and their movies always have a lot of heart. ❤
I think we're going to check it out!
Greetings David and Toni
Yes, Adam Sandler is actually singing. Not only did he sing in this movie, but he was also known to have sung a few times on SNL and have an album or 2. He is responsible for "The Hanukah Song", among several others.
'George' (the guy dressed like Boy George) is Alexis Arquette, sister of the famous Arquette Family (Patricia, Rosanna, David, etc.).
Adam is known to work mostly with his friends, so you will see the same group of actors in most of his films among them Steve Buscemi, Blake Clark, Peter Dante, Rob Schneider, Allen Covert, Johnathan Loughran, and even some of his own relatives in bit parts.
Christine Taylos (Holly Sullivan, Julia's sister) was 'Marcia' in the "Brady Bunch Movie". She is also married to Ben Stiller of "Something About Mary", "Zoolander 1 and 2", and "Dodgeball" fame. Ben and Adam are good friends.
The song that Rosey sings "Rapper's Delight" was actually recorded in August of 1979. Technically, it is the only song, in the movie, not recorded and played in the 80's.
The airline ticket counter guy with the "Flock of Seagulls" hairdo is the ACTUAL lead singer of "Flock of Seagulls", Mark Beltzman.
Billi Idol and the 'stewardess' Shanna Moakler were actually dating at the time of filming. It is why she got the part and why she looks very lovingly at Billy.
Sandler and Barrymore did 3 films together: "50 First Dates", this one, and "Blended". Please skip it as it was nowhere near as good as the first 2. the script and the acting needed more work and fine tuning.
Yes, this is in my Top 10 of Rom-Coms to watch. Glad that Toni got around to watching it.
I luke how Toni has been paying more attention to details in the last few movies and now she points out some things that most of us hadn't noticed before hahaha, way to go Toni 👍🏻
Thank you!
Whenever Madonna's "Holiday" comes on, I start singing it like Adam Sandler after Robbie gets stood up.
"I live in my sister's basement......" LOL
I grew up in that era so I really loved it.
It’s already been said by others but Blended is another Drew/ Adam movie worth watching
"once again, things that could have been brought to my attention YESTERDAY!" I love how angry some of the lines get. Adam is so good at that. Great movie. One of my favorites. Awesome reaction.
I almost forgot about Jon Lovitz! "He's losing his mind. And I'm reaping all the benefits."
Thank you!
Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore remain close friends to this day
whoever came up with Julia Gulia is a genius
Highly quoted in my household. I watch this multiple times a year, and I remember having this soundtrack on cassette tape. :)
There are a few movies that I will watch every time I see it on TV, and this is one of them!
Van Halen didn’t actually break up. They recruited Sammy Hagar as their new lead singer, then they went on to have their only 4 number 1 albums.
I always tear up when he sings to her 🥰💜💜
Drew and Adam have one more "Blended" - also great. They are talking about a new one now, but no script yet.
Love Stinks by the J. Geils Band has never been the same since this movie. What a great song placement and scene.
They also did Blended together.
Toni is so sweet. :) Thank you for sharing your reactions!
Thank you so much!
Make sure you guys watch Blended as well to complete the Adam/Drew trilogy.
I love how David laughs at some of the jokes while Toni is just flabbergasted, haha
That's like my girlfriend and I....I'm laughing and she's shaking her head. Lol
Adam and Drew did three movies together. Wedding Singer, 50 First Dates and Blended, which was really great too.
My favorite Sandler movie. I quote it all the time. "They were cones!", mutants on table 9, "Hey linda, you a bitch." 😅
Hi there. I highly recommend "Never been kissed". Drew Barrymore stars in this one.
Thanks!
Toni watching this could've been brought to my attention yesterday!
They did one more movie together called “Blended” in 2014
Great movie and they have such electric chemistry together. Billy Idol was involved in a very serious motorcycle accident and he almost lost a leg and required facial surgery, which is why he looks so different.
Drew Barrymore friend in this movie is :_
*Christine Taylor* (Ben Stiller's wife) you could find her in
- *Zoolander* (2001) & - *Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story* (2004)
also in *The Craft* (1996)
BONUS TRACK (comedy/emotionals)
★ *Never Been Kissed* (1999) _/starring _*_Drew Barrymore_* ♡
★ *Big Daddy* (1999) _/starring _*_Adam Sandler_* シ
★ *Click* (2006) _/starring _*_Adam Sandler_*_ , _*_Kate Beckinsale_*_ & _*_Christopher Walken_*
Thanks! I'm hoping to show Toni Dodgeball and Zoolander at some point. I've shown her the trailers but that's all she knows about them. We've added all of those to our list!
Super underrated film
We completely agree!
*Now Toni has to see Blended 😁*
I forgot how funny this film is!
They did a movie called blended, it is really good too. I believe it's their latest one together.
Toni, as long as David does all of the things in the song, you don't need a song. P.S. My late wife would always shoot me a look about the remote control line. She always got to hold the remote.
Oh wonderful! Love the movies they make together. Check out Blended. Might as well go down the Sandler/Barrymore rabbit hole! ❤
Also a Barrymore movie Never Been Kissed is great!
I'm gonna disagree that Never Been Kissed is cringe and didn't age well at all
This was when Adam Sandler wanted to start dipping his toes in some more dramatic work. This is surely a comedy, but if they didn't pull of the genuine romance and conflict, it wouldn't have worked. And Sandler and Barrymore were just perfect together, which is what also made their reunion for 50 First Dates so wonderful.
P.S. Steve Buscemi always cracks me up in this (no surprise). He's always so goofy in Adam Sandler movies, Big Daddy being the movie with the performance that levels me flat every time.
Another great reaction! Thank you for sharing!! 👍
Thanks for watching!
Now you have to finish it off with blended
This is probably my favorite Adam Sandler movie (next to maybe Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison), and Drew Barrymore is so freaking adorable and sweet that I totally fall in love with her every time I watch it. I loved being a little kid in the 80s so this totally hits that nostalgia button for me with all the music and ridiculous trends, lol.
"Hey, buddy, I'm not paying you to hear your thoughts on life. I'm paying you to sing."
"Well, I have a microphone, and you don't, SO YOU WILL LISTEN TO EVERY DAMN WORD I HAVE TO SAY!"
Fun Fact: Carrie Fisher, Judd Apatow, and Adam Sandler worked uncredited on the script.
Casting Notes Fact: Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore reunited in 50 First Dates (2004) and Blended (2014).
Car Enthusiast Fact: The car Glenn (Matthew Glave) drives is a DeLorean, the same model car used as the time machine in Back To The Future (1985). Curiously, the DeLorean logo has been obscured from the car.
Script Doctor Fact: Asked by director Frank Coraci to polish the script, Carrie Fisher spent six months on it, making it her special mission to add "heart and strength and dimension" to the Drew Barrymore character, Julia. Thereafter, when she was asked what her secret sauce was for script doctoring, she'd reply: "Make the women smarter - and the love scenes better."
"Sir, one more outburst and I will strangle you with my microphone wire"
Thanks for the info Gator!
As always, my pleasure. You have a great week! 😄
Go with God and Be Safe from Evil. 😎 👍
I thought the same thing about Billy Idol. I thought he was an impersonator and was like WOW he looks just like Billy Idol 😂😂
the movie blended is pretty good
Double-Date Night💝Toni & David / Adam & Drew!!✌Not nearly as Funny as "50 First Dates" (IMO), but this is definitely a Cute Movie🥰so much so that even My Mom LOVES this one too!👍I do Hope that this wasn't too difficult to Edit, with all of the Singing...🤞
Oh no!! David another movie where Toni saw that Adam wrote a song and wonders why you don’t write a song for her!!!🎼
I need to find a movie where Drew writes something for him! LOL
I hope she enjoys and gets it. I know Dave will
One of my faves ❤
How fun! Glad you enjoyed it!
Best soundtrack
So much fun! Thank y'all!
Our pleasure!
I love this movie so freaking much!
It was fantastic! - Toni 🤓
“Hey, somebody get some pants on that kid!”
-Bobby
Thanks for the laughs and your reaction yous guys. Still one of my favorite couple reactors. I smile genuinely when you guys laugh. Keep on keeping on and Gritos from Tejas.
“… even let you hold the remote control.”
Thank you!
I haven't watched this for a long long time lol .. first time I watched took me straight back to the 80's and I still have my records from this era and have some of these songs that are in the movie including flock of seagulls I ran haha. This & 50 first dates are my fave with these two, and another couple of Drew movies Never Been Kissed (Josie Grosie) and Fever Pitch with Jimmy Fallon is really funny too
Not much of an Adam Sandler fan, but THE WEDDING SINGER, CLICK, and just recently 50 FIRST DATES are the only movies that I like that he’s done.
We need to check out Click!
Roughly every 10 years they say they make movies together, the last one was blended from 2013 so we are due now 🤞🏼🤞🏼 but this was a cool spot they did on Jimmy Fallon show ( who also is close with Drew ) but the cool thing with this was they all prepared a song to do but then Adam and Jimmy surprised a very pregnant Drew with a familiar with a twist 😁
This would be a cool reaction if you can do it 🤷🏻♂️

NEVER BEEN KISSED next please :)
We've got it on our list!
Great reaction! Great movie, glad you liked it. Funt to hang out during the live as always.
Thanks for joining us!
👍
Love the save ferris shirt
Thank you!
Another great movie with Drew is “Duplex”, really funny movie, co-starring Ben Stiller.Drew Barrymore has some great movies,I hope you’ll dive into like, Boy’s on the Side, Poison Ivy,Bad Girls and Riding in Cars with Boy’s.😊
I think we will be checking out more of her movies on the channel at some point. :)
FYI…Save Ferris is not only a quote form Ferris Beullers Day Off…but also a great ska band!!!
Cool! Thanks!
@@popculturallychallenged if you guys reacted to music, I’d be badgering you to listen to ska…like I do for/to all of the music reactors I watch. lol!
I still recommend you check some of it out…it’s the best!!!
damn, I missed this one, and this seemed like the romcom that would have a few toni tears, but not like 50 first dates that upset her
You should watch Blended. They are always great together. Great chemistry!
We will!
HEY, had to come back because I'd just Remembered a Fun Fact: Adam's Best Friend here was played by Allen Covert, he's one of those Actors who shows up in pretty much everything that Sandler ever does, including '50 First Dates'😉he's 'Ten-Second Tom!"👌
Woah! I didn't even recognize him! Thanks Tom!
Next.
Julia's best friend is actually Ben Stiller's wife...
Thanks for the info!
I watch this movie every time it is on tv. It is just a fun feel good movie.
@6:29 Great cut to Toni, David.
BTW, his best friend in this was 10-Second-Tom in 50 First Dates, Allen Covert. His other two friends in 50 FD were the desk clerk at the memory clinic (groomsman in this) and the guy on the beach that got the gender surgery. These three guys are Sandler’s old best friends and are in almost all of his movies. They are also part of the production company.
Jon Lovitz (the evil wedding singer/a league of their own) stars in Rat Race which is a ridiculous comedy by David Zucker that might make you both laugh your butt off.
The mutants at table 9.
LOL!
I’d like to know if they actually ran the drink cart into Drew Barrymore’s elbow in the airplane scene. Her reaction looks 100% genuine.
It did look real! 😂
Yay❤
😂 oh man, the run of Adam Sandler movies were so much fun, especially with the over-the-top cliché 80s stuff! ( Have y’all done “The Waterboy” yet? And you gotta add “Joe Dirt” to the list!!! A lot of Sandler’s friends were in his films & they worked on that one too, it is a riot! 🤣
We'll add them to our list! Thanks!
Sincere request, please add the movie “Like stars on earth” to your list
DUDE! I knew that your wedding was missing something.... the police didn't show up! If you decide to renew your vows, let me know and I can arrange for the police to show....... :-)
Deal! Lol
Watch rush-hour movies... Its comedy cop movies
Tough one to watch as a guy who's been divorced and single for most of the time this movie has been out.
David now you have to look at her in a certain way and sing to her as well . Get on the ball man. Everyone can sing, not everyone can do it well.
More 90's movies huh?
...It was a Fun Decade too!👌
@@tomhoffman4330 Terrible decade. The hangover from the best decade ever. These reactors focus too much on 90's movies. They skip over 60's, 70's movies.
@@alancoy5305 I'm sorry for you.
We enjoyed this one. We're looking forward to more movies from every decade. :)
It was a funny movie back in the day but I can’t stand Drew Barrymore anymore, she’s a lost cause. Hellywood has gone insane lately.
I agree. I'll only watch these movies and i don't care for anything else she does. She's fallen way off the liberal cliff
Adam Sandler's best movie is "Funny People".
I'm locked out of the live comments, so I'll talk here @popcc-david and @popculturallychallenged. This is a fun movie, great soundtrack. What happened to fun, silly movies like this that are colourful and ironic? It feels like Hollywood can't laugh at itself anymore. Too much social agenda...
