Applied for York and put Goodricke as my first choice bc it’s nearest the Film building and most affordable of the east campus accoms. Really hoping I get in :))

Emma York hey! So the labs are pretty modern but lectures take place across the uni not in specific biology lecture rooms. I’d say majority aren’t the most modern but tbh they complement York well and the labs are high tech so makes up for it! X

Do more guys/girls stay at Goodricke? I haven't heard much about the college, except for the fact there's construction going on nearby. Does anyone know if it's a good place to stay? I'm rly particular about cleanliness:(
-dash- hey I’m sure you’ll get people in your flat that share the same feeling towards being clean! And goodricke is a great place I’d say maybe more girls but I think that’s throughout York in general!

They’re both a nice chilled vibe I’d say! I honestly think you can be happy in each college so don’t worry too much. It’s good to know that you can change colleges though so you can keep that in mind! Just make sure you give it enough chance :) x

Ah the days when Goodricke and Languith used to be on Campus West...

faye singleton yeah! Goodricke is the old part of James and Languith is where The Courtyard is (part of Derwent now?) Only changed when they built Hes East not too long ago 🤪
I remember those days. We didn't have a campus east at all. Alcuin was the odd one out for being over the bridge :)

Wait is Goodricke College that bad? And Campus East is really that deserted?? I'm having second thoughts now...
I knew a couple of people at goodricke that were really happy! To be honest the east campus is less busy than west but that’s because there’s only a couple of courses that study there and because it’s smaller! I loved being on east as after being on a busy campus all day it was nice to come back to the flat somewhere a bit more peaceful!

🤣nah not really! I remember a couple of my friends’ langwith rooms and they were grey inside so maybe you’ll get lucky and have no yellow😂but people even stick up like wrapping paper to hide the yellow boards in rooms so you have options haha!
halifax is the fkin village of the damned!! stayed there once in ther summer and was scared of the werewolves lurking in the woods.......a mudd hole in the middle of nowhere....
