Being a Telugu man myself, I grew up watching hundreds of Jayaprada's movies. Her first blockbuster Anthuleni Katha (Endless Story) directed by the legendary director K.Balachander has catapulted her into the topmost spot in 1974, when we were school students. Almost 50% of her Hindi movies were already mega hits in Telugu. Intellectual directors like K.Vishwanath, K.Balachander, Dasari Narayana Rao, K.Raghavendra Rao have sculpted her career which gleamed like a diamond. All the top-notch heroes NT Rama Rao, A Nageshwar Rao, Krishna, Shobhan Babu, Chiranjeevi, Kamal Hasan, Rajnikant had her as their love interest in innumerable superhit movies.
Reading her biography is like watching our own face in mirror. We know every smallest detail about her movies as well as her personal life. It is not an exaggeration if I say that Telugu people are so extremely mad about movies that everybody including small kids, grown-ups, literates & illiterates, men & women have a deep & vast knowledge about the lives of all actors ranging from the career, personal lives of all actors heroes, heroines, character actors, villains, comedians.
The reason for face-off between Jayaprada & Sridevi was not due to displacement of heroine's role in Naagin. Sridevi was known for hubris professionally and there was absence of amity with Jayaprada. We heard Jayaprada herself reveal it in several joint-interviews with another top heroine Jayasudha.
Jayaprada, Jayasudha, Sridevi gave to Telugu audience a plethora of blockbusters for four decades.
I really feel Sorry for Jayaprada.

Nargis,Meena Kumari, Zeenat Aman, Parveen Babi, Shabana Azmi,Smita Patil also. This happened only in the past... but not so common today. The married men were successful and powerful and so the actresses went to them for success and security.
Don't single out one region. If you think south indian heroines had involved with married men , then why don't u mention who were involved in ruining their lives?

I still admire her talent and beauty in Bombay film industry . I do not find much substance why so many bombay film actresses chose to marry a married man . There are so many in the list . I have a feeling that they fail to get a correct match when they are ready to marry as they love to be in fame and with money . Barring few like Madhuri Dikshit , Minaksha Sesadri , Mumbai etc - they left their their film carrier in peak time and settled in family life .
