Dave and Taylor the right guys to induct Rush into the Hall of Fame. Ever since I saw Dave Grohl how much he suffered when he found out Taylor had an overdose (I believe this happened in a Europe tour) and how truly was worried about Taylor to the tears, I knew this guy was a good friend, on top of that he said to Taylor, I lost Kurt, I don't want to lose you too. For that, I know this is not just another empty speech.

RUSH is THE PERFECT EXAMPLE of the fluidity of MASTERING TIME SIGNATURES! I play drums and there are a few things that you need to know about Neil Peart’s ( pronounced PEER-T) character: First he writes the lyrics so he knows in advance what TYPE of song it’s meant to be ie ballad, driver, etc. Second he COMPOSES on the drums… like a carpenter who looks at a set of blueprints before building the object. Neil lays out a SKETCH in his mind of the VOICES of the drumset and builds the song from there. He is also a great LISTENER knowing when NOT to step over Geddy’s singing or Alex’s solos! Finally, he had perfect timing and fluidity of time changes. He said himself that it’s not about COUNTING the time signatures as much as fluid motion to change the tempo without counting: in other words it should FLOW! He hates repeating the same drum patterns in the same song meaning if he plays a fill one way the first time around he will play it differently the second time around. IE. Rolls down the toms the first time around and triplets or quads (all four limbs) the second time around. In short there will NEVER be another like him on planet earth 🌍 🌏 🌎! REST IN PEACE PROFESSOR!
With heart felt admiration and sincerity!

These were two of the most unique and influential drummers in history and Taylor being unaware of his own greatness , was one of the biggest drummer fanbois ever seen. He legitimately idolized his favorite drummers even after being one of the greatest performers behind a kit. That's so rare. Yeah, Heaven definitely has their hands full up there with these two! Dont know if this was ever mentioned but, Taylor is the only man alive that possesses a pic of him with his arm around Neil. Drummers like myself would give a hemisphere of brain matter for a photo like that. I still have dreams of hanging out with Neil and talking shop. The Foos and Taylor actually got me through Neil's untimely death as I already knew before this that Dave and Tay were lifelong fans. I'm 56 years old and a drummer of 30 years of younger back from 9 years of age. All do respect to the great John Bonham who taught me really good hard Rock drumming...
it was when I discovered "The Professor" with 2112 hearing him do things (within the songs themselves) that I knew I reached a higher level of Drum playing then the Live solo's from "All the worlds a stage to Exit" and complex elaborate playing from "Hemispheres" and then to Waves to Moving Pictures. Expanding my set along with tons of practice mastering a fair amount of Rush songs...then my brother and friends saw me has a really good drummer lol. Thanks to the Master Peart.
