Clue was "erogenous zones", and that drew the guess "things that you rub".
    Ahhh, 1970's TV.

      "Your genital organs"
"Things you touch? Things you rub?"

The big problem I have is that the buzzer sounded nearly 30 seconds, after they had initially won ..

No different from zapping the money, or even awarding it, after commercial. Judges, whether it's Francine, John, or whomever sits in front of the "BUHHH!!!" button (as Tom Kennedy put it on the Split Second finale), sometimes don't get it right in a split second.
Similar to sports, game shows have the benefit of replay to review the play, both video and audio. However, unlike sports, game shows have a legal obligation, by Congressional law (thanks to the 50's scandals), to get it right according to the rules as written. The clue did not fit the subject of "Famous Losers" without reasonable doubt (screwing up Butterfield 7 vs. 8 for Elizabeth Taylor movies is reasonable), so the box turns back.

Adlai Stevenson, Barry Goldwater, George McGovern, Gerald Ford would have been the right set of clues for that last category.

Unfortunately, most episodes before April 1978 were wiped/recorded over and reused. The episodes that exist post 1978 have aired sporadically on GSN, and I think it's a rights issue with Sony atm

@@terrancewilson8875 According to GSN, around 7 months worth of $20K Pyramid episodes are still watchable while the rest are badly damaged including the final week, relying on second hand copies. More than a dozen from 1976 & 1977 survive as second hand copies and at least 3 from 1976 are from master studio copies including one from 3-1-1976. The $10K Pyramid episodes from ABC have yet to resurface at this time although clips have aired on CZcams in the past, at least one still remains unconfirmed. Still, the $25,000 Pyramid is just as good as the $20,000 one. Nipsey Russell and Soupy Sales have appeared on both 70s and 80s versions.

It will never be the same without those Celebrities because these are the people that you saw on Television because never be forgotten. 😢😢

The crowd reaction just halted everything. They really should have dealt with it the way I saw them deal with a bonus round of (I think) the $25K show where something got messed up. After the break, start him with 17 seconds and a new category at the top and go from there. Definitely had to have led them to rework the category order to reduce the chances of that happening again. Never saw one like that up top on $25K/$100K.

Especially when a few months earlier they accepted “Candles” for “Things that are Waxed”, it makes this episode really hard to watch…
And the following episode after this one-particularly the front game-really makes you feel Jackie got a bum deal…

Except no one had heard of them, except for Watergate Republicans when she helped put away Nixon. So I guess she would have been a famous winner in 1979. I think Trump had declared his first bankruptcy by then so he could've been in that category. Or basically any year for that matter.
