At this point I feel like lattafa should hire you as a consultant, because every lattafa I've bought was because of you. I never go by lattafa's own notes, they're misleading. But when I come to your CZcams, I get the correct notes and more. ❤

These brands are thinking we are not educated consumers, which is why they can just put fragrances in different bottles. They think we jump on the bandwagon because they put them in a different bottle. A new way to scam. They probably move the notes around. Their karma is going to come back 10 fold for their scamming. Now, I am leary of purchasing aribian fragrance. I also noticed some sites to do include the notes of the perfumes. Triple Traders, Jomashop, and others. Thank you for warning us ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️

Right now, I am thinking about Lattafa Affection perfume and Paris Corner Pistachio Khair. Also, you know they are reformulated some of the perfume such as Armaf club de nuit. So consumers better research these aribian fragrance companies. They think they are so hot now, they can't be taken down.

@@donnac.3273 one thing I've noticed about lattafa is that now they're taking social media seriously, they never used to post like they do now. Their rise in popularity will also be their downfall if they don't prioritize the customer

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, Cee. Your exposing what is going on at Lattafa is a testament to your integrity. So many reviewers get PR from these companies, and they say they are giving honest reveiws, but we all know they don't want to lose their ability to get free products from the companies. The more positive reviews they give the more free and early releases they get. You are one of the few people that I always go to when a fragrance is released. I have realized that I have been buying from other companies as of late. My Lattafa's come with such new juice, almost no scent, that they need months of maceration before I can wear them. This was such a necessary review. 🥰

I agree with your point, they're definitely rebranding the same juice in different bottles. It hasn't affected me however as I check what everything is "inspired by" before I buy it so I don't end up with duplicates.
The real tip is, don't blind buy frags from clone houses, save the blind buys for designer/niche. Even then, you can end up with a PdM Godolphin that smells pretty much the same as Tom Ford Tuscan Leather.
As someone that admittedly has 300+ frags. Nobody really needs more than 10. So ending up with duplicates shouldn't be an issue. The addiction of fragrance collection really needs addressing, none of us need how many we have, but we keep buying and buying.

Cee, THANK YOU for this statement of truth. The degree of replication had to be said. I have always been a wait and see person, it is just my nature. Hence, reviewers like yourself provide essential information and description. Middle Eastern fragrances are not readily available here. They are usually blind buys based on internet hype or real reviews such as yours. No more blind buys for me, without confirmation. If I miss something or have to wait a while, so be it. Your honesty is unquestionable and your indignation is justified. We deserve better from them. Congrats on telling it like it is. My respect and love to you.❤️❤️❤️

Thank you, Cee, I totally agree. I personally hate it most that they give the wrong description of the fragrance notes so that I end up with a fragrance which has some notes in it that I don't like - at least in large amounts. For example, almond in Yara, thank God I managed to get a little decant first. Or Khashabi which had completely wrong notes listed at first and in fact had lavender and patchouli notes instead of rose and jasmine.

Appreciate the info. I caught onto this trend late last decade when subsidiaries began to pop up. By then it was clear that clones were taking off in the west so that increase in demand could only mean one thing. My feeling is that it's only going to get worse as the greater mainstream public finally begins to use the online marketplace in earnest for fragrance purchases. Of course, that will also mean an increase in scan sites before people become more conscientious online consumers. Eventually an equilibrium will arise, brands will disappear and the big ones will be left standing. That seems to be the pattern. Ultimately, I have faith that consumers will look after one another. This vid is a great example. 💚

Perfect Cee! I just purchased Marc Jacobs, P. Gold 3 oz. OG 76 bucks. I have Moi and Precious Gold Maison Alhambra, and between the two with tax and shipping $61, the OG is much better quality and not much price difference. How many of us have too many Erba Pura's, Delina's, etc, in our big collections. I only buy the brands you mentioned well after new release on after-market discounted prices. For instance, I held off on Breeze and picked that one up for 29 bucks. Lattafa also romances us with packaging. If you wait, you can pick up these frags for 19-25 bucks even less. I'm so glad you said it like it is--that's why I'm here! GREAT REVIEW, and we'll said 😊 I primarily shop Swiss Arabian, AL Haramain, Rasasi, Armaf, Arabiyat Prestige, Riifs, Asdaaf, Nusuk, Ajmal, Ahmad Al Maghribi, Afnan, Orientica Luxury, Khalis, Sapil, Rue Broca, Franck Olivier, Mauboussin, Khadlaj, some Al Wataniah and a few others. ALL can be had for equal or if shopped Less than Lattafa and her side kicks. I do have many Lattafa's, many I love ❤️ and many I'm pi$$ed-off about too!

Thank you so much for this eye opener. Some how, with the way they´ve been doing it, i can´t even say i´m surprised. You have been long time mentioning their perfumes, with minute details differing them. So yeah, since last summer, i don´t buy any of their perfumes, nor anything else, before getting a sample, or few good reviews of it from the honest tubbers like you. I managed to get some fragrances knowingly, that were too close to each others, and dedided that won´t do. But i donated one of them to a friends. Now i´m carefull checking the profiles, and only buying something different to what i allready have. Or only after sampling and deciding that i like that scent so much that i want two with minor differences. Like kismet angel and Khamrah, two of my favourites, and i love them both enough to wanting to keep them both.
After this video i´m happy to know i won´t bother getting samples of Lattafa niche line. Why bother, if they are the same scent rebottled, just a lot more expensive. Thank you for your work on helping us save money. Ooh, and donated a bit, since i´m sorry but i have all ads off, cause i started to get adds every two minutes, and i could not do it anymore.

It's very easy to get sucked into the hype as their more affordable, but you're right, when you purchase 3 fairly similar scents from the house, then the value goes out the window. It has gotten so bad that I cannot tell one brand from the other. It is up to the consumer to do their homework. Thank God for honest reviewers like you. I live in the United States and there are no middle eastern fragrance retailers in my city. I blind buy and rely solely on your reviews. I love all of my purchases and the packaging is top notch. Yupp, someone had to say it. Most times, the thrill of collecting is the blind buying and having to smell something different. Stopped blind buying lattafas till i see multiple reviews.
Theres absolutely no excuse to repackage the same juice in different bottles. Even the Interlude man you excused them for has one called Atyaab al oud by lattafa.
    Great work still 👍

Thank you for pointing this out Cee! As content creator myself, I test a lot of fragrances as well and when it comes to Middle Eastern perfumes it’s like a lot of money wasted as you are right, there’s s a lot of redundancy. I buy Lattafa as well and to find the ones worth recommending is tough because a lot of them are the same. It happens as well with Zara fragrances so I stopped buying and testing them. That’s so nice of you to speak your truth on behalf of the consumers minds.
Luckily here in Europe Middle Eastern fragrance samples are now available so it saves money as well in finding the real good stuff and not just redundant to my collection. I feel the same about the niche collection as I have them. They are literally just rebottled.
Good job Cee! I always love hearing your thoughts as you are always profound and informative. Sending hugs from Portugal 🫶🏼

I have 3 perfumes by riffs and all are outstanding.... they have a huge selection on Fragrance x

The thing to consider though... is that we fragheads/collectors are a very small portion of their market: ie. most people do not purchase and keep such a multitude of fragrances... so, when a particular formula starts to dip in sales/trends, they will create a new bottle and branding to attract new customers. Even Al Haramain has been guilty of this, I notice! It's only those of us who purchase such a variety that we notice this duplication.

Hi Cee! Love your channel. I heard ( here on youtube) that Lattafa will be discontinuing some of their perfumes. Specifically, the Tom Ford inspired line which is from Maison Alhambra. Potentially the others, such as Khamara, will follow. They may have a situation... if you understand what I mean…. If you like that line probably should stock up just in case. Amazon has them for less now.

I totally agree, I fell into this trap when I bought Lattafa Mayar for the raspberry note and it turned to be the same as Al Wataniah Dafa al Rooh which I've already had in my collection. I don't know how Angel Nova smells, but theoretically Mayar is a clone for that, and if it's true, so does Dafa al Rooh. In the time I bought it I couldn't find any information about it, so I thought it was an original scent :)) My bad. But if you add up the price of 2-3 identitc dupe fragrances bought bindly, you can buy the real thing.

  • @agriperma
    @agriperma Před 6 měsíci +2

There are a lot of points I would like to touch upon, and in no way am I defending, any company, so it has to do with business practices. and start by asking a question: what would you consider a worse business practice, A company like Creed, that reformulates the same perfume, but markets it under the same name, for example Creed Aventus, which has changed many times over the years? sold as the same perfume, but it is not? or a company that reformulates the same perfume, but rebottles it, under a new name?
Both those practices are not convenient for the consumer, but fact is, processes, source materials, and resources etc change, which means the end product will be a little bit different, so should the house, try to sell it as the same perfume (like in the Creed example) or should they just rename it? like in the way some UAE houses do, with some of their frags?
Now, to address same smell perfumes, from the same house, that have very similar release dates. cee you are correct on the marketing / franchise, if they have already licensed a certain line with one company, all they do is make the same perfume, under another name. this happens across the business industry, even with cars, same car, with different name, and distributers.
As for, different perfumers coming out with very similar frags. I believe IN the UAE, there is very likely a Lab that many of these perfume houses, pay to analyze and reverse engineer original fragrances, in other words, they go to a Lab, ask them to reverse engineer a new perfume, let's say for example, Babycat YSL. that lab will then give a report on what notes and percentage of each they detect in the original, this same report/data will be given to every perfume house that asks for it. specially if these houses all source their materials from the same place and are using the same "blueprint" it's no surprise you will get very similar smelling clones from different UAE houses.
This is why reviewers like Cee, are important, people should do their research before buying these clones, which one is a better bang for the buck? what are they duping? are they 100% dupes or just twists on the OG? are they UAE Original creations if so, what do they smell like?
On a side note, given the option between, two bottles from the same house that have identical juices, some people might opt for one that cost a few bucks more, if the bottle is very decorative. so, I have no problem if Lattafa has two offerings, for example, the Ganymede clone, one that cost less, in a basic bottle, and another, in a decorative collector type bottle. but I do agree they should have transparency to the public, that these are the same DNA, for different market demand.

I appreciate your response. A very thought provoking detailed analysis. I do get what you mean that companies like Creed and the other popular ones do it too. Flankers are not necessarily a bad thing as long as customers are aware possibly by visual presentation that a fragrance could be a flanker. For me it’s dropping perfumes on the daily and in this case in the same new range, throwing people off with false notes and even going as far as dramatizing bottles and calling one range “Niche” only to realize it’s exactly the same as one you paid $50 less for is shady.
Guerlain for example has various flankers of Mon Guerlain, Shalimar, Insolence etc and even limited edition bottles for collectors, but remember they always add that one note or two that sets the Fragrance apart from the other on their website. Examples are Mon Guerlain, Edt, intense, Le Parfum, Florale, en rose etc, all these can come off as smelling the same by consumers but the company does not mislead consumers by a mile…Release dates also give customers enough time to process one flanker at a time, notes on the original website are usually clear, if it’s just peach they added to one fragrance they will list the rest as is and add that peach note to show the difference. If the one with the peach twist ends up smelling like the rest of them at least the customer new it wouldn’t be far off.
In Lattafas case notes have no correlation to the scent itself. If you go by their latest booklet they even have a poetic synopsis of each new perfume. Something that would make anyone drool to own a few from that booklet then boom! it’s the same perfume they sold to you in a basic bottle a month ago or years ago for $20 but now wait! It’s been glamorized in presentation but smells the same, yet costs 3-4 times more.
Lastly, l don’t have a problem with deciphering differences. I actually love the challenge. What pissed me off was the Niche Collection. They should have called it the Limited Edition or Collectors Edition period! There’s a lot there l personally would love to own in those weird bottles. I just wish they’d made it clear that some are repeats😍

I’d love a diagram style family tree of fragrance DNA.
Perhaps the OG $$$ at the top then the next level dupes/ flankers$$
    And so on down.
Obviously it’s not an exact science but I would know if I’m buying repeats of the theme.

Guys, I'm a lawyer and replication by a subsidiary is not a scam. That is why you should never blind buy fragrances to avoid this issue and many others. Any time I blind-buy, I'm fully allowing myself to accept and embrace the perfume that arrives. It's all about being diligent in your spending, and not being tempted to purchase items you can't afford or do not require. I really do not see an issue in Lattafa doing this. They are not forcing you to blind-buy perfumes...that's your own decision to do so. For most people, it's a poor decision.
