Ken Stabler, late in the 4th Quarter of this game ran 30 yards for a touchdown, and the Raiders had the lead 7-6. Ken Stabler, became the starting Quarterback for the Oakland Raiders, and he was good.

I’m in your boat as a lifelong Browns fan. I had a brother who was a huge Steelers fan and he’s gone now so I watched last nights game as a homage to his fandom. I am also old enough to have watched the Immaculate Reception live on tv in 1972. As we all know it happened on a Saturday afternoon. The controversy that ensued didn’t really set in until years later. It was a once in a lifetime play because we were not yet in the age of instant replay and having dozens of hi-def cameras capturing every play on the field of play. In many respects it really was miraculous because it defies a definitive conclusion/beyond a shadow of a doubt due to the instruments being used. Strike it up to the fog of war and how it gave rise to the creation of a legend. The cruel twist of fate that played out last week was Franco’s untimely death and how it robbed ALL football fans of a podium moment that was 50 years in the making. Rest In Peace Franco Harris. 🙏🏻🥇🏆 🇮🇹 🏈

I was a live-and-die 8 year old, Texas-born Dallas Cowboy (and Houston Oiler) fan in ‘72. The Immaculate Reception was an interesting play, but…who were these “Steelers?” Of course, in the few years to come, I grew to HATE everything black and gold…even other black and gold teams, in any sport! But a funny thing eventually happened, Bradshaw retired. I knew pretty instantly that the greatest era of NFL football had all but ended. The rivalries of the ‘70s is what made that era special. With the departures of Bradshaw, Harris, Swan, Lambert, Greene, Blier, and company, the NFL, as I’d known it, had faded away. So I’m commenting now to say that, with the passing of Franco Harris (one of the most feared running backs in the NFL’s history), I now feel, more than ever, a brotherhood with all fans of the NFL’s greatest decade, including fans of the Steelers (the first team the Cowboys ever beat…in ‘61. Sorry, I had to say it! And I still don’t like the colors, btw. 😉 haha)
    RIP FRANCO HARRIS
    God bless y’all, Steeler nation!

My grandpa played semipro football for Art Rooney. They knew each other for 60 years. The Steelers were how Grandma and bonded.
Grandpa was at The Immaculate Reception game. It's just the perfect moment. Hell, I had it as a bedtime story growing up!
Franco, thank you for all you did as a player, and more importantly, as a human. Franco made it better for many people.

His passing came out of nowhere. The man was in good health. It’s just so weird that something like this just happened. It just goes to show you, none of us really know how long we have. It’s a shame, his number was scheduled to be retired just a few days after his passing. I’m sure he was looking forward to attending that great ceremony. I thought Terry Bradshaw’s nice words were so beautiful to honor his good friend.
