This is the type of advice I will actually follow
This place is amazing, highly recommend it especially during a Chinese holiday because they sometimes have limited edition dishes.
I have a suggestion, every time you guys make a video about eating food at a restaurant could you put in the description on how much money you guys spend in total? That would be awesome for people who are planning to go.
Dominick im sure they have their reasons, but there's usually a yelp link added in their description, the menu should be there :)
Dominick Well, if they were typical Asians, I would say a lot. But Mike said he doesn't drink, and I've never seen them order beverages while out to eat, so it's probably not all that expensive for just the food.
Dominick I don't remember the exact prices, but I think the duck alone is about $40. Its very expensive, a lot of presentation goes into it, and I actually didn't know about the fact they grow their own produce! So I'm sure that factors into their prices as well.

Triumvirate888 well she ate a lot of food (not complaining, i would eat a lot too) and she got so excited when the duck came. there was another instance where I think she said yum really loud but I don't remember when she said it

This is my favorite restaurant in Virginia! They even deliver Peking Duck! I ate there for years and years and am so thrilled to see this on You Tube.

I love how you always talk about (especially chinese) food, sounds weird but it's just? Food is so important for me, I mean I love food and I love everything around it and it's just something so important to me as when my father cooks he sometimes explains me more the ingredients and the way he prepares the meals. The asian cuisin is so important to me and especially chinese (since yeah obviously I am chinese). Thank you guys so much!

Another place to eat added to my food bucket list :) I swear I add every OTGW Adventures I've watched to my bucket list.
This is my 4th trip to DC through the years; after watching this, finally made the trip. The experience is amazing. Our stomachs is limited, so I hoping to return before we leave. This time, I would like to try the other dishes you recommended Thanks guys !

I grew up going there.... literally. My nana lives across the street from there and my parents first went in 1978 with me in my baby seat.
Peking Gourmet Inn has always been my favorite restaurant. It is absolutely amazing.

Oh my god!!! I love this restaurant! During my first time here, I actually had the chance to dine in the Presidential room for a special ocassion! I've tried the peking duck and the lamb chops and they were both the stars of the course. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes 😋😋😋

We live in Mclean so Peking Gourmet is nearby. It just doesn't impress us. My husband grew up in NYC's Chinatown and we used to live in Manhattan. We've also also lived in Silicon Valley and San Francisco, so we've eaten a lot of ducks. Until it closed, Great Shanghai in NY's Chinatown was our favorite Peking duck. We now go to Pig Heaven on the Upper East Side in NY. Close enough to Peking for now. Appreciate your videos.

The skin is fine. It is perfect. This restaurant has been around for over 40 years.

@@TruongNguyen-hq6ed Big deal. There are restaurants that have been there for longer than 40 years. It doesn't mean the food is good (could just be over hyped).
@@stevenl3058 This restaurant is over hyped. It caters toward non-Asians anyway and it is way too pricey and the service sucks.

I had Peking Duck from many restaurants in many states and also cook them at home for over 40 years. You should try the one from Tropical Chinese Restaurant in Miami, FL. In my opinion they serve the best. The place is always filled with Chinese customers and that says a lot.

Toffee apple is my favourite and pineapple as well. I only visit Chinese restaurant if they have this desert lol. It's weird but it has always been my happy memory to have them at the end of my Chinese meal.

I live 20 min away from there. I go at least once a year, on special occasions. it a bit pricey but totally worth it
Just curious: Did they serve the soup with the duck bones to you guys, as I am used to the full Peking duck cuisine in China.
Also interesting factoid is that Peking duck originated from Shandong province.

There's a more famous peking duck place in the DMV. I don't know if the guy is still alive but the Peking Duck master last worked at China Wok in Tysons, VA. I got really bad food poisoning from Peking Gourmet years ago and never been back since.

Oh, man, when I lived in Alexandria, VA, I used to go to this place all the time. Especially for Peking Duck. My friend, Jenny, would always take the duck carcass home to her Lao-Lao to make soup. I miss Peking Gourmet Inn, their amazing duck, the garlic shoots, and the Chinese Leeks Fried Dumpling. And, you know, they do Peking Duck to go, too. You go pick it up and they'll wheel it out by the Takeout window and carve it for you.
