nah, actually you're getting a better chip that will last you for years. I had both in hands and there is a massive difference in the build quality. Also you're getting a lot better cameras with telephoto lens. In day to day use the only thing better in A55 is the battery.

They'll eventually be resolved with software updates and if they aren't you can make them more saturated in the photo editing app. The A54 had performance and heating issues initially that Samsung resolved with software updates. A lot of these Samsung midrangers improve over time with software updates. In my opinion, Samsung has the best software out of any smartphone so the main thing people should be looking for in Samsung phones is hardware. The hardware on the A55 is pretty good and I'm sure the software will improve over time the way it did with the A54.

Same story with older A series that uses new chipset. But, given the long duration of Samsung software support (4 os+1 security), it might felt sluggish after 2nd or 3rd year simply due to additional OS and app features.
