Wonderful interview. Thanks Michael for being such a great interviewer and listener and thanks to Gary for having been such a wonderful human being and professional musician. Your sounds will be heard until the end of times and your reputation will live on.

Nice. One trumpet giant's thoughts on the passing of another. I remember first hearing Gary on a Woody Herman record a very, very long time ago. A remarkable career.

Gary you probably don't remember me. But I played drums with Frank Howes under your Dad's direction at Suwannee High School in Live Oak Florida. This interview means so much to me. Your family meant so much to me. I just would like to say I am thank God for your influence on my life. God Bless you.

Gary Grant your name popped up in my mind today - so I googled your name and wow up came these interviews. I am so proud to see your success as a musician. I was too deeply influenced by your family. I hung out at the Grant home a lot. Mary Kay was my first sweetheart and also an amazing musician. You were a really good friend and I am really happy to see your success as an artist.

I took lessons from Gary's father, Harry Grant 1985-86 Vero Beach Florida!! One day he brought in a Jambox in put a cassette tape in and said son, this is how a horn section sounds like---- Hole E Shit!!! It was probably an Al Jerrau tune! I said can I make a copy?? --- No he said, it's not even released yet! Lol!!

Wonderful interview. I had the great fortune of playing with both Gary & Bill on a tour in New Zealand back in 1985. The best 6 weeks of playing I ever did. Just their presence in the room caused us to lift our game, K.
