I was watching because I have a black noragi but the sleeves are 3/4s and it makes me not want to wear it. I wanted to add some japanese workwear style to it by taking the sleeves off and reworking them with patchwork denim. This really gave me the confidence to try to get it done. Awesome job!

I'm still learning and about to buy my first sewing machine, and I was wondering if you could please tell me; Is it possible to achieve these machine saddle stitches on a heavy duty home sewing machine? Or would I need to invest in an industrial machine?

Thank you very much for watching my video! I am happy that you like what I make! I am sorry to tell you that I am not expert of sewing machine... I use industrial saddle stitching machine from Japsew company in Japan. (Which does only saddle stitching.) and Juki single needle machine (most common, but useful for regular sewing) mix with hand stitching! Good luck with your project!

You can do most stitching on a domestic machine, and you can always substitute one stitch for another. Try making a pillow first.....if it goes wrong it doesn't matter, but it will be an excellent way to hone your skills!! Good luck and have fun!!😊😊😊

I am happy you like what I make! The machine is the saddle stitching machine made in Japan from the company called Japsew. It is hand sashiko stitching on the side.
