I spray W-D40 and let it sit for a couple of min then wipe it clean. Plus it will lubricate the pole at the bottom and makes the door glide better too.
It's too bad so many comments are rude. Ignore them. You put a lot of time and thought into making this video, for free!, just so you could help people. And I will certainly give this method a try. Be encouraged :)
Donna Askins ... l agree about the rude comments, my wife has used this method many times to remove the skid marks from her white undies , when they get to bad I'll throw them over the fence in the neighbors yard, they have a dog.
This worked perfectly, and I didn't have anything left behind (previous commenter, Amelia, must of used too much soda). All other video's required products and trip to store. I can now open my door with a few fingers using products already in my home. Took about 20 minutes to do entire track, door open then closed. Note. I used wet rag to clean up excess dirt first. Thank you for video.
flyhound97 Very nice of you to still find fault in anyway shape or form. Your nothing more than a ignorant trouble maker. Didn't anyone inform you. Ugly is no longer in season.
Love the ingredients! No trip to the store! Baking soda is wonderful for so so many things. I would've felt even better about the video if the corners of the tracks were done too. No worries though, it's the OCD. Great Job Sister!
Genius idea. I have used hydrogen peroxide to clean many things. Did not think to use it with B.S. on the door track. Excellent because the frame is white. Peroxide helps with white things and one never needs bleach. Nice! Thanks for the video ❣
Thank you for this. Other methods required a wire brush and a lot of scrubbing, which wasn't working for me. This got my track sparkling clean with much less effort. I did use a toothbrush for the tiny hard to reach spots.
Paul Koller please don't judge. For me personally, I have multiple herniated discs in my back. Just doing something as simple as this can leave me in excruciating pain. I appreciate when I can accomplish something such as cleaning a window track with minimum effort.
Sadly with the mood swings of mother nature where I live your method doesn't work for me. If I scrubbed with a dry wire brush first it might. Our weather goes from dry, windy, and dust flying everywhere to humid the next day. The dirt and dust gets really bad in the exterior tracks. I've used vinegar to soften it up but will try sprinkling baking soda first. I love the lifting power of the two combined. Hydrogen peroxide is great too.
Your video is an answer to prayer (thank You God). I have bad mobility problems and hard scrubbing if almost impossible for me. I look forward to getting the supplies and using your method. Thank you, lovelgrtt!!
lovelygrtt very welcome. People are rude and don't understand how much it took for you to make the video and post it. You are very brave. It took a lot of courage.
Good idea. I don't know why we spend so much on cleaning products when things like lemon juice, vinegar, bicarb and hydrogen peroxide combine to cover all household cleaning.
Thank you!1 this is amazing! All these other suggestions yet they are ALL way more work! Who would try and vacuum that gunk! That’s gross lol. This is easy and non-toxic thank you🤗🤗
Thank you for posting. My Florida sliding glass door tracks due to traffic and rain causes this type of. Condition. This is much better idea due to the small dogs that walk across the track to enter and Exit the Florida room they can breathe in if you use bleach or other types of cleaning chemical cleaners. Much safer.
I use a hand or small car brush and warm soapy water and it gets this clean also. I would also suggest adding an oil to the track as the build up of the abrasive used may slow or cause an issue with the sliding. Thanks for the very easy and simple to follow video
A steam cleaner and a small shop vac is really effective for cleaning window sills. The steam gets into all the cracks and the shopvac picks up the dirt and water, use a brush to loosen the dirt if the track is particularly dirty. Highly recommend getting a good steam cleaner it's a very useful and flexible tool and you can use less chemicals if you use steam.
Only if one hv been house cleaning regularly, there won't be that much dirt, esp stubborn stains, to clean. A vacuum cleaner is a good cleaning aid to clean the tracks.
after cleaning a good way to make your door slide smoothly is to take a candle and rub it over the tracks (top and bottom). Do this every 3 mints and your door will glide easily. do not use oils (like WD40) on tracks.
Abby G Could try using a wet wipe. If it must be tissues. Try to fold over evenly, dampen tissue or tp. Use small pairing knife to place tissue into corner or tracts. Clean slowly due to fact. Tissues can fall apart just looking at them. Take your time to clean slowly. Just the way I've used these small tidbipp cleaning. Didn't intend to take over her hacks. My intention was to help out. Nothing more. Sorry to those waiting to hate on any comment.
I have tried this before and it works great. However I use and old toothbrush to scrub after the baking soda and vinegar combo has settled. But I want to know how to remove the dirt that gathers on the sides of the sliding glass door! Agh.
Its funny how people are quick to criticise someone elses video. Take a seat I say, where's your tutorial!!
Because it is bad advice, moron.
@@rabbi7933 why?
Right💯!
I spray W-D40 and let it sit for a couple of min then wipe it clean. Plus it will lubricate the pole at the bottom and makes the door glide better too.
michelle walton, KY Jelly works better
Never use WD-40 because it contains oil which never dries. After few weeks it will attract the dirt again and look blackish in color.
never use regular wd-40, dirt and dust sticks to it. you can use a silicone spray for it
I love her accent. So soothing! I almost fell asleep. That’s actually a compliment!
Thank you 😊
Sounds like the same person that calls me every day offering lower interest rates, car warranty, and antivirus software.
Thank u! ❤️👍🏻Worked great! The only thing I did different was to put the peroxide in a spray bottle to dispense easier.
Haven't tried it yet but love ❤️ your voice... I'd believe anything you'd tell me!

Donna Askins - well said!
Love your accent....tried ur method and it worked perfectly ....thank you.
Cleaning door tracks is a good idea but as an alternative vinegar and baking soda are great, too
Smells bad though and fizzes

Tried this yesterday and it worked!!!!! Just wonderful!

A lot of scrubbing? Seriously? How lazy can you be..........

I'm a cleaner, we vacuum them out first and just use spray and wipe a cloth and a screwdriver to get into the ends and slits, done.
Thanks !
Thats the best way 👍🏻
How to fix a stiff window

You probably live in Europe and this is India where dirt is everywhere. otherwise, u don't need to put that level of efforts.

God Bless. Thanks
I use an old toothbrush to clean the corners and hard to reach places.

Oil is terrible you need silicone lube
Thank you for the tip.😊
You are welcome. Are you going to try it?
Oh that's great. I hadn't thought of using hydrogen peroxide. Seems to have worked great so I will try your method! Thank you.
That’s great ! Hope this method works for you!
That silver track needs silicone lubricant to help the door move. The top and bottom are tracks. 😺lube em!
This is so helpful, I used water instead of hydrogen peroxide, worked really well..
That’s wonderful
Tried it, liked it, worked great, thank you so much.

Really good tip.

Thank you! I was about to scrub and scrub!
You are welcome ! Good luck !
More peroxide would be more affective. Also using old toothbrush gets into corners & edges better
after cleaning a good way to make your door slide smoothly is to take a candle and rub it over the tracks (top and bottom). Do this every 3 mints and your door will glide easily. do not use oils (like WD40) on tracks.
Judith Roth why no wd40
It gets dirty and nasty and never evaporates. WD40 is mainly a rust desolver not a lubricant.
WD-40 is a dirt magnet, it works real good at first, but in the long run it attracts dirt.
Judith Roth .
Judith Roth dirt will accumulate on the candle wax and jam it further. Never ever put candle wax in your sliding doors or windows
Good idea! Thanks.👍🏻 Save time by poking a small hole on the peroxide bottle seal or buy one at the $1 store that has one already.
That’s a great idea to get one at the $1 ( now $1.25 ) store 😊
Thank you so much
Amazing. Thank you
Nice one. Thanks.
I use my waterpik to get the corners. I tried everything.
Me too.
Only because i know people that would... did you use the waterpik after cleaning with it
Perfect! They get so dirty!
Thank you! Will be doing this today. 😊
Wonderful! Let me know how it goes
lovelygrtt It worked great! Worked like a charm. Thank you very much!
That’s so good to hear! Thanks for letting me know
I must thank you for giving me such a lovely video
You are very welcome
I just cleaned my sliding glass door tracks with ammonia, water, and a screw driver in the rag.. I think it works just as well.
Soapy water and a paint brush works well, dry with paper or a cloth
Thanks lady💞💞
Thank you very much !
Thank you for the video.
What’s a substitute for hydrogen peroxide?
Just plain water works well also, especially if it's hot.
Thanks, but this method works great especially when they are more dirty
Good idea 😇
Nice way of cleaning
+Madhavi Kavishwar thanks, did you try it out ?
How can you clean into corners using a tissue?
Blubert is my friend
You can use any product to clean not only that.
Abby G

Wow it works!
I will try thank you
Sure, let me know if it worked for you !
Unintentional Asmr as heck.
I always vacuum the loose dirt/dust out before I use a cleaning agent. Makes
for easier cleaning.
That’s a great idea !
GLOVES ON B 4 CLEANING👌☀
Thanks a lot!!,😄
Thank you! I just noticed today that the tracks by my back door needs attention. Your video was good timing for me. 😉
