Actually, this is the original tempo (slower tempo). Hanson composed 'MmmBop' when they were just at the age of 11, 9, and 6. The producers suggested to make it to a more upbeat tempo, which was released worldwide in 1997.
Very much disliked Hanson, and wasn't a fan of the original version, but this version sounds great. And I respect that you unashamedly speak the truth, Truth.

@@SpiralSlopes it’s not rare for people to stop working on their voices. The voice is a muscle, and just like if you stop exercising your body, you can lose that muscle. A lot of singers don’t exercise the voice and end up not sounding that same, that’s why I said this

I was 12 in 1997, when a 7th Grade classmate asked me if I've ever heard of Hanson. I said no, but I checked out the band a few years later when my house house finally got crappy, dial-up internet. I thought this was a good song, but nothing special at the time. But the further away from the 90's I get, the more this song refuses to age. Refuses to let me go. Instantly transporting me back to the 1990s. A perfect time capsule of that last, glorious era in American history. Such a special time for us Xennials/ Cold Y'ers. We should all cherish this era and work hard to bring this kind of world back again.

Hear hear! I'm 35, and I have to tell you, once I hit my 30s, my music taste just kinda exploded. I am going back to old favorites (like Hanson!!!), but finding new things, and it is wonderful! No more feeling like I have to fit in and like what everyone else likes.
Unlike so many of the pop "artists" manufactured and marketed primarily for consumption by teenage girls, Hanson have always been a real rock 'n' roll band who play their own instruments and write their own original songs. Despite having continued to tour and release fantastic albums over the years since their "Mmmbop" days, the band does not receive as much exposure and publicity as they once did and still rightfully deserve because in order to maintain their artistic integrity they decided to part ways with the major record labels in the early 2000's. I am an adult male rock music fanatic (classic/indie/modern/progressive), and I am not embarrassed to admit that I have gone to see them perform live in concert multiple times since 2003. Every tour, they have consistently put on a great live show.
Maybe not the same artist, but most of the popular versions of songs are covers, and most songs have lots of recordings before we get “the one” everyone knows and loves. Including this song, the demo is very nice too.
As a kid I couldn't stand this song. As an adult (and them now adults themselves) I appreciate and enjoy it a lot more. Can't get enough of it. The message, the harmonies, the song structure. Hanson is just one of those greatly underappreciated groups for sure.

I heard the title song of This Time Around when it was first out, and I thought, “OMG, they sound like Three Dog Night!” I wish Hanson would cover a 3DN song like Pieces of April or Out In The Country.
back in the 90s they were a hit but just for a short period. Now years later they are amazing. The way they have their voices now and synced up is incredible. I remember hearing them on the radio as kids and now there's no doubt they can be much more.

I still remember the moment I first heard this song. I was at a car repair shop with my parents and this came on on the TV in the waiting room. I got the album for Christmas and listened to it none stop for month!
People can laugh or take the piss all they like but this song took them all around the world!!! And the harmonies are fuckin crazy, only brothers can sound like this...brilliant version of the song

I never understood this song when I was a kid and thought it was nonsense, though it has a catchy beat. But 24 years later when life hit and I lost family members and people I love, this songs hits so damn hard and actually got me emotional. Whoever you are, always appreciate the people you have. Tell your loved ones you love them. One day you'll wake up and they won't be there anymore.

Outstanding. I am 63 and I still groove to Hanson. MMMBop still gets me going. Love these boys, and have watched them grown from kids into men who really love each other.

I was 12 in 1997, when a 7th Grade classmate asked me if I've ever heard of Hanson. I said no, but I checked out the band a few years later when my house house finally got crappy, dial-up internet. I thought this was a good song, but nothing special at the time. But the further away from the 90's I get, the more this song refuses to age. Refuses to let me go. Instantly transporting me back to the 1990s. A perfect time capsule of that last, glorious era in American history. Such a special time for us Xennials/ Cold Y'ers.
We should all cherish this era and work hard to bring this kind of world back again.

I never gave these guys the credit they deserved when they first came out. Nowadays I realize how actually good the songs were, and how talented of musicians they always were. Hindsight is 20/20, and now I’m 38 and can admit my mistake.

These guys prove that their talent was more then a famous pop song, pure talent pure musicians. Pleasure to listen to.
They were the 90s equivalent to Bieber, girls loved em and guys hated them. But now I've grown into a man I can see there is a huge musical difference in comparison. They are actually talented...

Hear hear! I'm 35, and I have to tell you, once I hit my 30s, my music taste just kinda exploded. I am going back to old favorites (like Hanson!!!), but finding new things, and it is wonderful! No more feeling like I have to fit in and like what everyone else likes.

Unlike so many of the pop "artists" manufactured and marketed primarily for consumption by teenage girls, Hanson have always been a real rock 'n' roll band who play their own instruments and write their own original songs. Despite having continued to tour and release fantastic albums over the years since their "Mmmbop" days, the band does not receive as much exposure and publicity as they once did and still rightfully deserve because in order to maintain their artistic integrity they decided to part ways with the major record labels in the early 2000's. I am an adult male rock music fanatic (classic/indie/modern/progressive), and I am not embarrassed to admit that I have gone to see them perform live in concert multiple times since 2003. Every tour, they have consistently put on a great live show.

Maybe not the same artist, but most of the popular versions of songs are covers, and most songs have lots of recordings before we get “the one” everyone knows and loves. Including this song, the demo is very nice too.

As a kid I couldn't stand this song. As an adult (and them now adults themselves) I appreciate and enjoy it a lot more. Can't get enough of it. The message, the harmonies, the song structure. Hanson is just one of those greatly underappreciated groups for sure.
I just love this!! Sibling harmonies are the tightest harmonies! Any time my brother and I sing together, the harmonies just "happen", even if we haven't sung together in years.

This is a testament to how “powerful” social influence can be. We all know we “hated them” in the 90s if you didn’t you weren’t “cool” media/social media/ influencers do this 24/7 everything we see/hear is something being pushed on us.

This makes me miss my sister so much she thought Isaac was so cute. June 20th it'll be 12 years since we lost her to colon cancer at 45, she was the best big sister ever. Now I'm 49 4 years older than she was when she left us and hearing this song breaks my heart in the best ways

This is the last cd my dad bought me before he passed, such fond memories singing away to this in his car. The lyrics didn't have the same meaning they do today about how fast life goes and how people we love are what matters.

I heard the title song of This Time Around when it was first out, and I thought, “OMG, they sound like Three Dog Night!” I wish Hanson would cover a 3DN song like Pieces of April or Out In The Country.

back in the 90s they were a hit but just for a short period. Now years later they are amazing. The way they have their voices now and synced up is incredible. I remember hearing them on the radio as kids and now there's no doubt they can be much more.
