I dislike the feel of microfiber cloths too!😳😬 I love rescuing sad plants & giving them new life! Enjoy this video!👏♥️
Omg I have been seeing this plant all over the place in Lowe’s and they all look SOO crispy and they were all hidden in the dark 😭😭 You are better than I am for saving them, so pretty once all those dead bits were cut off!
there was something extremely therapeutic about a heavy pruning session 😌
I rescued this same kind of begonia from Lowes last year! It was on clearance for $7 & it looked terribly sad. Well, it has been doing great!! I've propagated off of it too. My cuttings never did well in water. I ended up soil propagating with lots of success. I just adore their little angel wings!!
Omg I've never heard anyone talk about how nasty microfiber cloths can feel! I have eczema and when it's bad my hands are crusty and the thought of microfiber cloth touching me gives me shivers. Gross.
Wow! You are the ONLY other human who regards microfiber cloths the EXACT way I do! I thought it was just me! Thanks, SISTA! ✌💚
I can't stand them! I'm a nurse and my hands are so dry from washing them 500 times a day--those cloths catch on every little bit of dry skin I didn't even know was there.
oh my GOD that sounds like a nightmare!! glad i found people that relate 😭
Same!! Haha seriously, i hate that feeling :D
This was fun and insightful to watch. I love your plant talk and energy. I look forward to watching your videos. ☺️
Excellent video. Plant rescuers really love these types of videos. Lots of information and very enjoyable to watch. Well done!! 👏👌
thank you so much! so happy y'all are enjoying it 🥰
such a helpful video as always! also i'm really digging the vibe of the plant background set up!!!
thank you!! i am finally happy with it too lol
Nice video. Informative and fun to watch. Bubbly attitude is hard to not smile at.
such a helpful video from THEE plant queen. thank you for your service
g&p collective 4ever
i actually purchased a benigo begonia very recently and she wasn’t looking too hot!! thank you for this video!!!!
Got one yesterday. It's already plump and cute. Did a peroxide and water treatment that brought back. I will repot it this weekend. $2.00 markdown at clearance at Lowes.
yay i’m way too excited to watch this
it was fun to make! ☺️
Thank you for the helpful video!
This is such a well executed video!!
thank you bri!! 💚
I also HATE microfiber clothes! its such an uncomfortable feeling, ESP when my skin is really dry.
I really love this video (and I hate the feeling of microfiber cloths too, you're not alone!)
i get chills thinking about it 🥴 thanks so much ellen!
I was literally at Lowe’s today looking at their begonias but I held back from buying bc most looked sad. But I’ll have to try this out!
honestly saving plants is pretty fun! you can sometimes ask for a discount on plants with pests/root rot/etc. too.
Kat, I took your advice and my lil petit knockout rose from the sill is reviving so well!! *puppy eye emoji*
i am so happy this video helped you and your plant! yes, please let me know how it goes ❤️
Great video sweetie. Thank you. Helped alot. Covered pretty much everything. And about those microfiber cloths. I can’t stand that feeling either. I thought it was just me. ☺️God bless you.
Me looking at the dying polka dot plant I recently was given and wondering how I can trash every bit of the plant but still have the plant... anyway this is such a well put together video. So organized and informational. Loved it!!
taylor omg if you knew how much "pruning" i do 🤫 thank you so much!!
Still not over how amazing the camera quality is 😍
omg kella thank youuu 😭
Love the new video 💚☺️
thank you! 💚💚
New leaves are definitely a positive sign to keep doing what you’re doing! 🌱💚
agreed! 🙌
Very good advice I like the way you explained it step by step
thank you! glad it was helpful!
Great editing on this video 🪴
thank you so much! ☺️
We have exactly the same begonia even the vase. 😍
Lol about your microfiber comments! It gives me hibbie jebbies just thinking about it. Thanks for this video. I’m now going to attempt this with my own begonia I saved from Walmart. Wish me luck.
This was so helpful.. I’ve been having trouble with my fiddle leaf and maybe if I do these steps it’ll work out :).
The fiddle leaf is a big pain in the butt.
fingers crossed for you! i am a bit intimidated by them 😅
I just ripped some of the gardening fabric stuff off of some baby monstera roots today as well haha.
gotta do what you gotta do!! the plant will like it better in the long run :)
Lol I definitely get why the roots reminded you of the nervous system
Like the lil secondary roots = dendrites on neurons...I see it 🤣
i'm glad a nurse approves of this 🤓
I thought you said “good aunt planty” in the intro and I kinda like that for you😹
wow i love that i am the 🌿planty aunt🌿 from here on out
Omg yes! Microfiber cloths give me the chills when I touch them😳!!! Can’t do it! 🤣
oh god it is just the WORST ... it's the #1 reason i put off cleaning my leaves
@@GoodandPlanty haha me too!! 🤣
Really nice video! And what if my new rex begonia looked very happy in the store and alive. And like 5 h later bringing it home the leafs turn chrispy. Is it normal and what should I do! Its not at direct sunlight, its not hot or cold I am just soo confused..
I found a nice sanseveria Fernwood hidden under a shelf at my local Lowe's! If you look you can find good stuff lol
that's true! i don't shop there too often...i just go when i am looking for a rehab plant 😅
I have a question why is the stem of the begonia soft? I'm loosing the plants
do fungus gnats actually hurt the plant? im too lazy to do anything about them and it seems theyre the only pest ive ever had. so much so that i thought plants in my country just didnt get the same pests 😅
I love that Begonia! What a beauty! 😌
BUT, ideally how long should one wait to take all these steps after bringing a plant home?
great question! it depends on the severity of the decline. i did this within a few days of bringing the begonia home because I knew she needed it. some plants can do the typical 1-2 weeks of acclimation.
Cut off all the dead and damaged with sterilized knife of scissors. One month or longer before repotting. Do not rip apart and fool with roots. Begonias don't like to be repotted and only go up one pot size after pot is full of roots. Give high humity with a humidifier 60% or more, bright light no sun and they grow like a weed only water when almost dry.
brooo i found the same begonia in the same pot, for like 3.50 at kroger. i tried my best but sadly it was too sick and died
Update pls on your begonia. Mine is dropping leaves and some dried tips huhu. Idk if it just acclimating on my place cause recently bought it for a week now. roots are healthy.
my begonia is doing great! still in the greenhouse environment. this treatment helped my case a lot.
Vibing
I have a similar begonia polkadot like this, it's been a year but the leaves never been more 8 pcs. I cut some due to dehydrated or (too intense sun ?) but does anyone experience like this ? i bought when the flowers was bloomed but again the leaves only like 3-4, im so envy with yours 😢
Why my begonia is dying after exactly same procedure?
This was wonderful & I also HATE microfibre material-uhghhhhhh!!
ThIs is great ,information a great idea the Green House that is for storage and the right size not ernourmous I love the idea and your troubleshootings we ''green fingers'' we need all the help we can get thank so much,🌴🌵🌱🌲🌼🌺🦗🐛🦋🐦🌞😁♥️🐌
Help my grandma gave a dumb cane plant you know the toxic one that used to be used for dirty dirty ways like shutting people up and I forgot to water it for like weeks is there anything I can do other than be a deceitful bit chase and get a new one of the same plant because she will absolutely kill me
Hate microfiber as well!
Hahaha yes! Don't like the feeling of microfiber, velvet, or corduroy.
I'm the same with microfiber fiber cloths 🤣🤣🤣
it's horrible!!!!!
my calathea zebrina is begging me to take tips from this video
all of my plants are like ok when is it my turn 🤪
Ugh I thought I was the only one with not liking the way microfiber cloths feel!!
i love that the comment section is now just a microfiber hate club
Microfiber is a big annoyance to many!
Soooooo Begonia care video soon? 👀🤞🏼
Its on the list i promise!!!! 🤭
i see those earrings ;)
hehehehhe
The growers are starting to be very trifling they add chunks of styrofoam add moss to the media. I wouldn't never known if my plants I just purchased show signs stress. Especially on my orchids. I sent emails to the companies let them know I didnt appreciate them using whatever they want for media.Thats my money I like throwing my money in the trash all willy Neely.Happy growing and stay.
agreed!! it's very unfair and frustrating.
If you would have just cut the dead off and watered it when it was dry it would have bounced back a lot faster and bigger. You repotting it if it was sooner than a month at your home put it in further stress by not allowing it to acclaimate. Some places like Steve's Leaves it will void the 30 day warranty if you repot it before 30 days is up.
yes, a lot of what she did was unnecessary. That plant wasn't in that bad of condition. There were plenty of healthy leaves and it r
mostly needed to be watered after cutting the wilted parts off.
umm, this whole soil change was completely necessary, the soil was complete garbage and there was fungus gnat larvae most likely. It doesnt matter how fast it bounces back, that is not Kat's main priority, she just wants to make sure it doesnt die
