Government higher secondary and government college don't give opportunity to those poor students who passed out their class 10 and secondary from government school ....when we asked the teachers how the selection has been done and how the government school not giving the first opportunity to those students who passed out from government school they always told us that the selection has been done through merit basis...and those students who are selected in merit basis are mainly from private school only.. whose parents are rich ....
So,the last option for poor parents is to send his children to private school only ....
Is this fair ?
The parents who can't send his children to private school in the lower class now have to send his children to private colleges and secondary....

Systems like % reservation for people with lowest income if provided can be fair not necessary they are government schools students.
There is quota for students coming from govt institutions. Especially for Dimapur Government Higher Secondary School.
It's not about free education but it's all about quality education. You know why? Coz all the lectures there are highly qualified Teachers through NPSC😊

Since it is a govt. College they shouldn't charge 500rs for filling up the form moreover they didn't even issue prospectus so they are charging too much. Just my point of view.

The college is for the welfare of the people, so people rush for admission and since they cannot take all the students who come for admission, they take entrance exam. It is not the best are selected it is for those who clear the entrance exam having minimum required percentage score.

In 2014,I got selected directly without entrance exam with 70 ℅ at govt college. but this days evn 75% and above are writing entrance test . 😂

And here in Kohima at Razhükhrie Govt Higher Sec School. From this year Commerce Stream is going to be discontinue , which is a very sad News for the students. Govt Higher Sec. Schools i.e Class 12 are doing fairly well so far in HSSLC examination and With this ceasing of Commerce Stream many students will loss educationally and will also face economic burden. Hope the Govt will retrospect their decision and take the right step.
500 seats ? Let's assume there's 50/100 backdoors and some seats through money and relatives or friends line up and some 80% up merits students! Some students with 60% low have 1% chance to get seat...now that good colleges are full ! They hv to go to expensive and full allocated seats in private school
This is the another problem in Nagaland. Lack of sufficient govt. Colleges & schools. By now We instead of asking good govt institutions, industries, IT companies etc....... We still strive for good roads. During election common words are:- "Moikhan eko nelaki hoilibi kali rasta-i banadibi". 61 years of statehood we still long for good roads. 😢
It's better to go govt college. Less expenditure less unnecessary event program activities wannabe attention etc bla bla bla. Proper uniform dress specially girls . They are very spot on 👍
750 Students cleared HSSLC from Mon District. The number stands at 5th position in district wise. These 750 students who didn't or couldn't opt for secondary schools in Dimapur or Kohima, are likely to look for admission in Wangkhao Government College. At least 400 students may apply for admission, but at the maximum the intake of Wangkhao college will be 250 seats, owing to less number of teachers and limited class rooms. I hope the education department will look into this matter as well.
Everyone stayed away from government school and higher secondary but for college everyone goes after government school.

Just want to ask whether the student council were also the present students studying there and just assisting the applicant to appear the entrence exam..?The selection should only be done by the principal along with the teaching faculty based on the criteria set by the college authorities... According to me the student respond like they also have a role in the selection process as he mentions 'we' many times

Just a humble suggestion .. To increase the students intake maybe there could be 2 or 3 shifts for class timings in a day which ensures that many more students are able to avail admissions. In this way using the same infrastructure we could double to intake and maybe hire more teaching staff

Last year i gave entrance exam there n got selected but foolish me i went to other colleges. Regretting now 😢
Got satisfied percentage of more than 80+% and still wrote entrance🗿.

Middle-class families can't afford to send their children to private institutions or abroad so the state government should come up with a B sector or a new govt college for more convenience for the people of Nagaland

Join Ignou man much better than any colleges here in Nagaland plus so many cources no mark required only pass certificate and u can also take many vocational course here like diploma simultaneously plus they also have scholarship here too . Something that i regret as an alumni is, i never wanted to get admitted to this college because i had my eye on another college that was a lil far off from my home. After i easily got a seat there, i got to know about many other people who tried so hard to get in the college and realised how ungrateful and unreasonable i was being. I also met the best-(est) friend circle from this very college. Now I feel so proud to tell people that i graduated from DGC ☺️

Those days in the year 2001 Govt college was free without entrance test and non of us perfer but this day it's competitive .

The best and finest batch in DGC was from 2021 batch ryt after covid crisis ends. They directly selected only from 70%+ in Commerce. All the smart brainys were in the same room. After 2021,entrance exam starts...so the quality of students is downgraded.

Yes facility does matter but it's not about the facilities of the college its all about the education quality. Education matters and i think thats more important than anything.

@@Kfsthcb16378No it's not,the students were given 150 mcqs in which they have to tick every question completely within the duration of 2 hours, no matter even if there were subjects you did not take in your 11 and 12.I am generally talking about the arts stream but i am not sure about the other stream.

And moreover they did not got to choose three subjects but instead they had to write everything down, of every subjects. The level of this test depends upon a person. 😊
