I just came back from Japan and was PRAYING and HOPING that someone would have posted this somewhere and here it is. I am so happy now. Thank you so much. I miss Japan already.
Malia Madamalama I felt the same way after my first visit there. I can't find the link, but if you search for "JR Yamanote mp3" you will be able to download a zip file of about 20-30 of these tunes. I did this and use them as ringtones. The quality is also higher than in this video... If I can find them, I'll post the link. :)

@@texasyoshi Yeah, none of the melodies played here are composed by Minoru Mukaiya however. The only ones I know he did were the departure melodies for the Tokyo Metro Tozai Line and arriving melodies for Koshien station on the Hanshin Line.
These sounds make me feel sick with nostalgia. My stomach actually flipped when I heard the first one. Friendship, laughter, adventure. Beautiful, neon drenched memories of hot summer nights in Tokyo. Take me back.
Nostalgic. I was in Japan for 3 years and always hear these tunes. Although I don’t recognise some of the tunes but the tokyo one gives me an amazing nostalgic feeling. The last time i heard the tune was when i was going to ride a train to narita.
Lol I went to Japan, got off at Shibuya and there was a circle of Japanese businessmen in front of one of the Shibuya station exits and they were bowing to each other really fast for about 1 minute lmao it was hilarious
Went to Japan with my cousin in january and getting back to Akihabara after a long day of exploring Tokyo and hearing that beautiful jingle made it so much more perfect. One of the most memorable trips i’ve ever taken anywhere

This is what I miss about Japan! The Tokyo JR music. I remember taking the trains around Tokyo in June 2019. I somewhat still miss Tokyo, Japan even though I loved it. I was there 4 times before
Absolutely balling my eyes out while watching this. I did a 1 month trip to Japan in March/April and then visited again for another day during a layover all this year. I miss Japan so much already. God damnit...
Oh my God, I’ve got tears rolling down my face right now too. I visited in 1999, 2000 and 2003. I have never known sounds to be so evocative, the themes to the very happiest days of my life.
This is the best! I remember the Gotanda/Yurakucho theme from my time on the Yamanote Line. JR is a great, timely, and affordable way to get around Japan. I can't wait to go back.
I rmb travelling the yamanote line from ueno, shinjuku, harajuku, shibuya, Hamamatsucho, tokyo and back to ueno...the Shinjuku and tokyo melody hit hard
Hearing this and the ANA boarding music (Another sky) breaks my heart with nostalgia. I visited Japan once in 2018 and have missed it Every Single Day afterwards. I already started to miss it when I boarded the plane in Narita. Unfortunately, I still could not return due to several reasons (Covid and personal).
3:22 Takadanobaba has a special place in my heart. It's where my hotel was, and I had been hearing it for full week, after a long day exploring and belly full of either ramen or sushi. Such warmth. But not after the hellish shin-okubo every damn time lol

I heard the last one every night at Asakusbashi when I was staying there, it was the theme tune to many nights after long days of exploring Tokyo......Wish I was there now.
The Tokyo Station sound was the first sound I heard after leaving the Narita express on Shibuya Station during my first day ever in Japan. After hearing these sounds so many times on youtube before going to Japan, there and then I was thinking to myself: Finally, this is for real! After all these years, I'm finally here!
I went to Japan as my first overseas trip a few months ago and stayed at an airbnb in Takadanobaba. I could sing along to the jingles I'm actually going to cry.

The music was composed by Minoru Mukaiya, the former keyboardist of the Japanese Jazz Fusion band Casiopea.
