I've only been E-boarding for about a month, my top speed so far is 20mph before I start to get wobbly. Board is rated for 35 though! Totally DIY from scratch using Enertion dual direct drive motors, Focbox Unity+, and 12S Turnigy LiPos, all in a 3D printed housing I made.
I've been documenting the process on my channel and I have some crazy design plans for the future, but didn't realize how hard going fast would be!
Update, just went 23! Working my way up!
35mph lacroix lonestar, never going that fast ever again. This was on a closed course.
Nice! Skating a closed course sounds fun!
Im not brave. 40kph which i think is 25mph on the Exway Flex Riot. Before i put on the cloud wheels.
+ Belt tension can help with range and speed in some cases.
+ Cleaning out the grease from the bearings and replacing with oil like bones speed cream.
(some bearing have grease and not oil, if you use oil remember to re-lube them every few days or after hard long rides.)
+ You can get smaller pulleys, in most cases these can be bought or made by a community member.
31mph on my meepo V3. thank you so much for making these videos because you are the reason that i got into electric skateboarding
Glad to hear it! Stay stoked my friend
In your opinion, how bad is the voltage sag on the V3, anyway? I ordered the ER version and I wanna know what to expect when it does get here!
@@RonnieSarmiento same here your videos are amazing and i just started eskating please please start to record again
I just got my meepo v3 and I’ve gone 29 miles an hour down hill I ate it. Love ur content!
Where you bought it
I hit 22 on the meepo v3 on a very slight up hill bc last time I went downhill I got hella speed wobbles and almost ate it
How tf I can’t go over 20
I love cruising around town at 15-22mph. Of course if I have nice pavement and a long straightaway I'm putting the hammer down. What a rush! I've only been riding since early November but have hit 27.82mph on my Zealot composite. I'm also 225lbs.
The best tip: spent a lot of money for the electric skateboard 🤣🤣
Best thing I've ever spent money on..... super duper uber fun
no the best tip, is to ride a manual skateboard or longboard when you first start, to get your balance, so you don't end up killing yourself on an esk8.
@@ethanicuscopernicus6758 they don’t exist anymore? I was just on there website yesterday 🤨
got my board 3 days ago, 16 mph, skatebolt breeze 2, cant wait to reach 30 when i get better
Sometimes I hit like right off the bad just because I’m stoked there’s a new Ronnie video
I recently received my Exway Wave. The day I received it, Daniel Kwan posted a video on the best eskate protective wear, and as I got more comfortable riding it a few days later, you posted this video on how to go faster on my board. It's like CZcams is in sync with my eskate journey :)
Thanks for sharing! Stay stoked dude!
31 on slight downhill and with the wind on meepo v3 - Awesome.board!
Thanks for the info Bro !! I been trying to figure that out lately. Gotta reduce the extra weight from my bagpack or Get myself another board that goes 29 MPH lolz. My Board is currently Hits around 22 MPH when I do my runs by the riverbed
How about a mention for your bushings as different bushings and how tight u run them will have a huge impact on stability of riding at speed, fastest speed 4 me is on evolve bamboo gtr, at 53kph, this was a downhill run on 175mm at tyres, bloody sketchy braking at that speed. Cheers mate
Ronnie what do you recommend for this situation?
My roads are beat up and rough
But it would be my first board
Just not sure if that small urithane wheel on hubs will work
Hub or belt?
I love ur video u are the best
22mph downhill wit AT tires. Evolve carbon GTR.... I have wanted to build a simple diy electric longboard for a while... I decided to get the revel kit/kits(4WD). I know the technology in the revel kit is different and newer,. But can you do a comparison video between the rental kit and the mellow board kit? Please 😁
I just got meepo mini 2 just today and first time riding a skateboard and I went 11mph so I think pretty good as a beginner
Nice & Thanks :)
Just bought the Meepo Mini 2 as my 1st ever electric board and so far hit max 25mph
Im saving up for a board right now, and I hope to buy one once winter passes :)
You missed out on some Black Friday deals man. I got a backfire g3 for only 550 and it’s awesome. I even got to use it for a few weeks before it got cold.
32 mph on my Meepo NLS Pro hub drive in 2019 with a strong wind at my back. When I let off the throttle, I started to wobble, but by the grace of God, did not go down. 30 mph several times this year on the same board with less tail wind. At age 62, I may have to consider an adult diaper as part of my protective gear on future speed runs:)
hahaha, that's gnarly!
@Hell's favorite Salty Masshole Yes, that is very good advice. The problem I have had is letting off the throttle too quickly, and that is almost like hitting the brakes.
30 on a Meepo NLS pro flat land! I love doing hills in Colorado with my Zealot.
So stoked to get into E- boarding! Still trying to decide between the Backfire G3 and Exway flex riot... how does the speed and hill torque compare?
Definitely get the flex riot, better customization options and better performance in general
I vote the backfire zealot S personally
I rode my Meepo v4 straight out of the box and the speed seemed fine but once fully charged I zoomed and long story short I have a twisted ankle now 😅
30 mph on my DIY board with 110 mm wheels. I wasn’t even half throttle and it just kept accelerating.
31mph Build Kit Board Duo.
Great video man!
I gotta reach back out to build kit board. The mini looks pretty darn good
@@RonnieSarmiento Im sure its an awesome build. The Duo is really impressive, performance-to-dollar ratio is hard to beat. Haven’t tried the mini yet but eventually I could see adding it to the mix.
Grabbed my 1st elec board 2 days ago. stop speed so far, 20 mph, and that 20 mph was SKETCHY A F lol
Is it better to recharge the board at half life or let it drain completely will it damage or shorten battery life over time to charge it at half to use the board fully charged all the time??
A way that I have found to go faster..... Gradually. Building momentum over a longer distance helps the belts keep from wearing down... For belt drives. On my Revel, the momentum carries better downhills so that the whole regenerative braking does its thing. A smooth surface is just as important for this though, as a rougher path is going to decrease overall momentum and force of inertia.
One example I have, I can go a route that is mostly flat with less than any incline with very rough areas of pavement and sometimes no sidewalk, whereas I can take a completely different road that gets to the same place that has at least 2 inclines but the sidewalk spans all the way. The smoother route is longer by about 1 mile even though the rougher route does not go up or down anything that would be noticably a 'hill.' I think the case and point of my analysis about a 12 mile commute to work is that even though the path has no inclines, the rougher road still takes effectively an entire mile out of full range...
Wowgo 2s, 44mph - downhill in France :D)
Custom micro drop deck & Paris trucks Zealous bearings
Gotta love those breaks going downhill!!!
52 km/h meepo envy. Super fun board!
I've gone about 32 mph on a subtle downhill road with traffic. Terrifying but I was living in that moment.
Been skating for about a month just hit 100miles total, and yesterday just clicked and I bombed down a hill pinned in turbo got to 34mph! I’m 220mph and I was riding my Backfire zealot S
29mph on my revel loaded tesseract which was way too twitchy and 31 on skatebolt breeze 2 which was a lot less scarier lol. All were on 100mm wheels.
30 on a meepo v3 but the next day my esc burned up on me on takeoff not surprised because it was used and don't know how long the previous owner had it for
54km/h with Ecomobl ET
Ate shit after but luckily only bruises and scratches.
TIGHTEN THOSE TRUCKS EVERYONE!
nice video
Thanks. Rick!
15 is my favorite speed. I save battery and feel safer. My top speed is 28 and I have never felt the need to go that fast.
Love it!
Trying to decide what board to get for me first board, but as for speed I have gone 35 bombing a huge hill on my old sector 9 I was passing cars going 30 lol
Hey Ronnie was wondering how do you get out screws that dont want to come out and have lock tight on them?
pray...
you can drill the screws starting with a small size and then gradually increasing. it s not easy but possiblle.
@@RonnieSarmiento Also for any board if i wont ride for accouple of days what's the best way to maintain the battery do I charge it or leave at 50-60%
Peanut butter
I love peanut butter haha
I just received my backfire g2 I’ll update you after I assemble it. New E-Skateboard Rider.
Honestly you should do a giveway!!! I love your videos and I am very interested in owning a good board. Any recommendations for a budget board that is fast and reliable. Please respond 😁
We can do a big one at a big channel milestone. In the mean time there have been small giveaways in previous videos! As for budget boards, it’s what you can afford and what meets your needs. There’s a lot of good options out there, and most of them are pretty good.
29.8 on my Ownboard W1s. Downhill. Would love to have that speed on flats though. What if you replace the 250 watt motors with something more powerful like 500 watt? Has anyone tried this?
PS.. Love your videos!!
I've gone 34 mph on my exway x1 max and it was on a slight downhill tho max on flat is 28 for me on it as a 160lbs rider
Just got a skatebolt tornado pro today 18mph is about all I want right now
i have been up to speeds of 39kph on the wow go 3. this was a lot of fun
Hey Ronnie. What is the proper Wheel speed for Meepo Mini 2 ER, when I put on 100mm wheels? Factory setting is 56. Nobody knows. I changed it to 64. 🤷
I’m not sure, I don’t have that setup. Should ask meepo for proper answer
@@RonnieSarmiento Waiting for Keiran to reply. So I should know in about 2 months😐
@@RonnieSarmiento for future reference, my wheel speed is set at 64 with 100mm wheels, and I went 32mph today. Verified by GPS. #MeepoMiniMonsterMod✔️
havent watched the vid yet but ik its gonna be great
You the homie, David!
My fastest was 40mph on flat ground and no wind. 34 mph with wind. This is a diy board of mine.
41 mph Kaly 2.0 (friend's board but will be my first purchase of 2021). Person board would be Exway Pro Riot at 29 mph. Always wear gear when going top speed. You can make fun off it all you want or feel too experienced/cool to need any but everyone's luck runs out. Don't care how many years of longboarding/skateboarding you want. You're just one bad day from potentially being a vegetable.
31 on my Raldey MTV -3 on 120mm rubber wheels.
My meepo v3 that i had for a while, well i went 22 mph on the first day but the 2nd day i ate it so hard so be safe out there guys
My personal record is 24 mph with the Lycaon GR
Anyone have a lux lx longboard? I’m trying to find the speed governor but there are no videos on it. Any tips?
37mph or 59kmh on my lacroix nazare, there's not really any feeling quite like it
I’ve only gone 29 but my town has a really nice down hill road that’s why I was able to go 29 on a v2 backfire beginner shit but I’ve never had an electric bored till this one
I am saving up for my first electric skateboard!
that is awesome!
Wouldn’t recommend wowgo
I got the possway v4 which the top speed is 15, How do i make it faster then that?
The fastest I’ve gone is 30mph on a Meepo V3 ER. I’m trying to fix my Revel Kit’s speed issue so I can go as fast or even faster on it. I currently have the 105 mm Cloudwheels on it
Is the ER worth it
@@ethanredd3342 It used to be but now there are better boards for that price. I would say go a little higher on budget and get the Backfire Zealot or you could also checkout the Beastboard. Haven't tried that one personally but spec wise seems you get more for your money than the V3 ER. The V3 ER is a great board but it is not worth it right now simply because there are better options available now.
@@sadab1.0 I was thinking the same thing thanks for your feedback bro
There's a reason they call it the E R...
I don't really track my speed nor I'm a speed demon but I hit 34mph on a speed radar. I don't think I'll hit that often since I was kinda gunning it when I saw the radar.
I have a wowogo 3 i got it on sale for like 550 with the bigger battery and i have gone 24 mph but i can only do that in the first 15 min of riding
I went 36 mph on a backfire zealot before facing death and falling (downhill)
30.5 mph on a flat road
Have your wheels ever gotten caught on a pebble/rock while riding an e skateboard causing you to fly off?
It’s happened to me on normal skateboards over the years for so long that I avoid it on eskateboard
32km/h on my DIY board. Dual Hub. Also have a single motor that tops out at 30km/h that’s fast enough. 😬 all DIY cuz’ I love the process of creating.
Imagine Bugatti making a 250mph electric board.
25 on my meepo nls pro, even that is a little out of my comfort zone though 😂
no worries man!
I have the wheel hub motor. I find that I go faster in reverse where the motor is pulling you instead of pushing. Faster top speed. Try it...
Can you replace all 4 bearings on a backfire?
I’ve gone 22 but on a custom built board!!!
How do I avoid speed wobbles? I only went about 35 KM/H and ate gravel big time
0 I don’t have one but I think I’m getting one for Christmas
Same I’m getting backfire g3 plus
@@austin_raffkin sweet dude I found out that I’m getting a meepo v3
Do a video on the backfire mini keep it interesting in your video don’t do more longboards take a brake for one video thanks
27mph on my new Meepo V3_ scary asf, going to see if I can go faster on 100mm wheels.
I’m looking at eboards so I’ve never used one and like no one in my city has one and I’m too light so too fast if I used one lol
29 mph on my backfire g3. Was on a decline tho.
I live in Canada, any idea on how much it costs to build an electric skate?
400
My fastest is 24.5 MPH and I was on the meepo V3 not the top speed but it was really fast.
Pretty fast to me
I’m having a hard time going fast without speed wobbling:/ Meepo Voyager.
First time skateboarding lol
Duuuude I just ordered a backfire G3!!
I am stoked for you!
Nice bro I got one too I’m very stoked, I gotta wait for Christmas that’s the hard part haha
I did to
When are u doing a giveaway?
35mph on my Meepo V3 on a downhill run through a neighborhood 😎
31 mph on my ether pro electric skateboard, pretty scary but very fun.
I got a e skateboard from cool and fun for like 200 euros and i mabaged to get 30.9 kmh once. Also i love driving fast
29 kph - exway flex riot.
pushing 30mph going down a bike path at the nc museum of art on my teamgee h20 mini
35kmph on meepo v3, because I was too scared to go faster😅
Just got mine and I am still learning so as of 5 september 2023 I have ridden as fast as 12 mph 😂
38 km, wowgo 2s 2019 model
Meepo v3 with slight modifications gone 36 Miles and then ate sh*t
DIY start from the ground up "literally" you learn something is a good thing🤓
I put new bearings a my electric skateboard Wheels yeah I went with some Reds
24 mph Roadsurfing hub 2.0
53.3km/h on x1pro riot with 120mm wheels, can't really turn but I win on top speed
27mph on meepo v3 100mm wheels eovan gts carbon pro coming in the mail will update once I have it
Sweet! Looking forward to it
30 mph on my meepo mini 2. Then I fell. Broke my neck and skull
Can you find a electric skateboard that is like 100 dollars because my mom and dad aren’t able to work and we’ve been struggling. And I really want a electric skateboard so if u can. Can u pls find a under 100 dollar skateboard?
37 km/h on the Teamgee H5 and it was fun cause im a speed demon
I dont use ebords but i can go rly fast on my longbord my best was 28 km/h on flat road
Sweet!
I went 20 on the Meepo V4 S and crashed so I haven't gone that fast since
