A time when ppl had a good time! When bands would nice up the place for fun, unity and love! Men dancing next to each other and no hate or envy! Man I wish ppl would wake up and live!
This "Youth consciousness" concert in Jamaica 1982, well, seems like EVERY musician that counts in reggae, was there. But where are the tapes and videos? If some small parts of videos are on YT, then logically thinking the WHOLE concert must exist somewhere. WHERE? Wouldn't it be great to see the WHOLE CONCERT on YT? I know I would love it... how about others?
Perhaps yor not roots reggae man. People like different things and its everybodys right to like what they want. I myself would love to see this concert, the whole concert and nothing left out. :)
youth conciousness'' was broadcasted in jamaica (live & direct) on JBC-Television.. that means 'a copy of the complete broadcast of this show is most definitly out there, somewhere...
Me too. At the 4:25 mark, right when he says whoa, me ah tell ya, you can see my white head directly behind Robbie Shakespeare’s hat. Spent the whole set with my back pressed against his amp, ha ha. Best concert I’ve ever been to. Most people don’t realize, this video is at 7 or 8 in the morning. He was playing with his third band of the night. He had started with mostly Jimmy Cliff’s band, then took a break and played a 9 or 10 song set with Roots Radics then took another break and came on with Sly and Robbie.
I knew both of them. I can only remember we called one of them Sunshine. They were affiliated with a great Black American named Amanyea Paine ( not sure of the spelling) They were her students and would usually be following her lead. They were very close with Puma Jones RIP
THANK YOU LORD FOR EVERY LITTLE THING!!!!ESPECIALLY JAH B!
Lovely. I hope there is more footage of this spectacular concert
As usual in Jamaica, there is almost more spectators backstage than in the venue!!!
