@nicholaspaulroberts1189 As an old fuck, dnb was around before jungle. When I went to parties there was only house, break beats, dnb. The rest hadn't been invented yet. Jungle is the streets version of dnb basically.
Saw BennyL in Manchester a few weeks ago, his 1.5hr set turned into a nearly 3hr set as Goldie was delayed due to a crash on the motorway. His set was outrageous from start to finish, real history lesson and representation of the art
Unfortunately mate that’s the new wave of “ravers”. They don’t let the tune roll out and appreciate it. They constantly want switch ups after switch ups. Thats why I love Benny and the likes of S.P.Y. They let the tune roll out 🔊
Benny killed it 🔊 jungle, bass and amen breaks 😍 proper DNB that is! Not all about the jump up stuff. Some of the crowd needs educating and appreciate the world of DNB
Benny is officially fully Headz, deep mysterious journey of heavyweight vibes, lovely 🌻A very tasteful selection of amens with those hard vintage Dilly undertones🪬
Some of them don’t realise how good benny L is they just wanted jump up for the whole set nd double nd triple drops people need to appreciate this type of dnb
Benny L was the first set I ever saw live and got me hooked on dnb, everyone loves a bit of skatty jump up but this is real dnb and will forever be the best style. Whenever I hear one of his songs in someone else’s set it gets me well hyped
Great Benny! In my opinion he is the only DNB producer who has managed to differentiate himself with a unique old school style, the simplicity of giving a dusting to the amen breaks, that new bassline concept and this is how the "foghorn" era was born, without a shadow without a doubt, he gave a refresh to the genre while remaining well rooted in it... sometimes it seems like we are revering a bit the DJ sets of the past by artists like Dillinja, Krust, Dj Die... Good dnb lesson for new ravers, even if they don't seem to appreciate tracks that have a lot of elements that much :)
Give people a chance to hear new things to their ears! To some people this is the first time they've heard this shit. I wonder what you would've looked like the first time you heard Valley of Shadows (gurning no doubt haha.... as it should be)! Nothing but love here for my old and new ravers.
@@cccccccc94 pioneer cdjs and mp3s have changed how people mix. now it's easier to prep grids and use sync, so instead of having to spend time matching they try to play as many tracks as possible in one set. i prefer long transitions and longer tracks compared to the trend of 3-4 minute tracks with quick transitions
@@ynotwalk7391I definitely agree. However, although i do like the longer transitions (which I do most of time whilst I mix), I do also like every now and then, throughout the mix, mashing a few of them tracks together, to build a unique intensity after only some of those low intensity transitions. I feel that way that you can capture the best elements of both aspects, throughout your mix. Maybe others feel different, I would like to know if anyone would share their opinion? I just think taking the best parts of every genre of music, and implementing those types of music/techniques, from every era, is what makes you a great artist. What does everyone else think?
@@jsjsjsconsidering the difference between jungle and DNB can’t be defined even by the producers themselves, I think you could happily call much of this Jungle. Does BPM matter? Does the Ragga connection matter? Sequenced drums or sampled breaks? How about an amen break with snare rolls and a sample talking bout ganja for the breakdown…but then drops into 2 step with a jump up sound for the drop? Is that jungle? Not easily definable at all
Drops Babylon Splash and most people clearly don't recognise it. It's only one of the most iconic DnB tunes ever created. I know they're kids, but come on, know your history. You'll enjoy it more. I promise 😎
Crowd defo killed this set for me, seen Benny before and he’s brilliant. But for some reason cus it’s not A.M.C quad dropping everything the energy isn’t there, beauty blends need way more appreciation than they get.
Had the pleasure of seeing Benny L playing recently in Manchester at a Metalheadz night and the crowd was ten times more up for it than this lot. His set was killer too.
Wicked set , shame about the crowd apart from the dude in beanie hat and girl next to him they were on it…. Not gonna start the back in day, but we were miles from being this dead :p
I love the fact that established DNB artists like Benny L will still play standards/staples like Splash Babylon & mix it in with all the latest & greatest! ❤

Benny's reppin' so much ppl here, crowd wanted that fast passed noisy jump up set and they got a lesson
😂😂
They got schooled...
09:13 I felt that in my soul. Benny looking round with a pissed off "COME ON!" What the fuck was this crowd.
2005: DJ Hazard - Selector
Whole crowd standing there wondering why he aint triple dropping 🤣
Hes constantly dropping. Its an endless flow of weight
all they want is jump up :( makes me sad that nobody knows the classic d&b scene anymore
Got balls playing jungle to this crowd 😂
Without Jungle they'd be no drum n bass 🤔
They were as dead as you'd imagine xD
Where was the jungle ?
Am I missing something? 😅

Was there too. True measure of a dj is to deal with the unexpected like he did that night. Major respect! Benny L all night long 🤜
😂😂😂 This whole set and the beats are so heavy like lead and they go so HARDDD that its got the crowd in a state of catatonia 😂😂😂😂
Benny L THE LEGEND! LOTS of heavy bombs in this one true jungle dnb sound! Big ups!
Find it real weird that a crowd will consistently be 50% less energetic if there’s not a switch or high energy build up every 10 seconds.

Technically speaking, it is one of the best sets not only in the lineup but also in all of the 360°
What a musical lesson from Benny L.
Crowd looks like they have blown minds just trying to let it sink in how dutty these tunes are. Yeeeesh!!!!
This has been my favourite one by a mile, smooth blends and transitions, a proper journey of dnb & a DJ who stays true to what they’re about - KILLER
Gave me goosebumps the bass slapped every time, nice to not have a switch up every 15-20 seconds to enjoy the tunes being play. Big up bennyL 👌
The young people don't know what to do with the classics especially when Capone - Jah hit 😅 Rave dammit!

It's to the with the way it's marketed... no line up til last minute and no guaranteed entry

Only 5 minutes in, but what a fucking dead crowd that is, where’s the vibe at?!
