And I'll tip my hat to DC for being progressive and stepping there game up with the proper weights on the vin stickers. Hopefully you will eventually collect enough data to give approximate weights when configuring a trailer. Then the consumer can make a better decision about which brakes and axles will accomplish the desired payload goals.

14 ply tires should be standard on any trailer over 14k rating. 10 ply tires do not hold up to the condition of our roads. Also chinesium tires should never be the limiting factor on your trailer (most if not all trailer tires are made in china). That’s just asking for a blowout in the worst possible place and having to change a tire on the side of a busy highway sucks.

Can you give a little more substantiated reasoning as to why a 3500 is too small? The trailer is rated at 25,900lbs GVWR, in the same range as the large majority of your CDL hotshot goosenecks out there. Same frame, axle, wheel/tire combo etc.. just a different neck is what it amounts to.

Btw, I have been looking that these trailers since it has been on the market. Diamond C are the Cadillac of trailers. I get asked all the time about trailer and how to correctly setup a hotshot. As well as correcting owner/operators who already made mistakes. I talk to these people a couple time per week. Almost owner/operators have no clue how to correctly setup equipment.
After making the comment, I did a little more research on both truck and trailer. According to Ram, a 3500, drw, max combined tops at 37,100 lbs. with gvrw of 14k and 25,900. The combined weight is 40k. Which put truck over by nearly 3k. In order to keep setup at 37,100lbs, that would reduce weight on trailer by 2,900lbs. If my information is correct, trailer can haul 15,500lbs. Also operatoring a hotshot, loading weight on step deck, may overload trucks drive axle. There is obviously a hard balance when running hotshot. I see it everyday in the industry. As an owner of a trucking company, I have to look that the legality of every setup and every load.

Any dually will pull that trailer just fine as long as you stay within your weight limits. I pulled a 50 foot wedge trailer fully loaded with a F350 with no problem.

@@DustyakaDD bro ..your comparing a wedge to a hotshot trailer. BIG DIFFERENCE. this weighs almost DOUBLE what your wedge weighs! This trailer will destroy a 3500. IDC what anyone says. This is for a minimum of 4500, i wouldn't even consider that. 5500 minimum. Also its steel. Heavy as all get out! If it was aluminum like the semi stepdecks, wed be in business. A 53 foot step deck, for a semi, in aluminum, is about 1,000 pounds less. With 100k GVWR. you might as well get a semi and stepdeck. I like what they are doing, dont get me wrong...but when you start out with a 3500 with a trailer that weighs almost 12k with running gear, your asking to rebuild drivelines etc...step right up and try it!

@@All-Miles-Matter my 50 foot wedge trailer was at a little over 8k empty. That step deck is around 10k empty. Not much difference. My trailer had 10k axles the stepdeck is 12k. I put over 21k of loaded weight on my wedge and my 17 F350 dually pulled it just fine. I will admit that I put about 24k on it once and I believe that was about its limit. I wish I had that wedge trailer when I was hotshotting. Now I am back in 18 wheelers.

Message to diamond c…your trailers are too expensive and why would i but a step deck for a hotshot truck when i could just buy a full size truck and trailer???

I just don't see how you can proudly advertise anything new when you can't even provide the trailers ordered from a year ago. I am disappointed in Diamond C

😂😂😂😂. Yeah and the semi cost on everything. Hot shot is a fraction of the cost of maintenance and equipment. I went from o/o semi to o/o hot shot. I make better money and half the headaches
