That... was one of the strangest sounding British accents I've ever heard an American do. It wasn't the worst, by a long shot, but it just sounded bizarre. I particularly enjoyed when he went slightly Scottish for "Not so bad, not so bad" then said "How about yoooooooooooooou?" heh heh :D
This is amazing, whenever someone I know is having a shit day I will send this to them and say your day can’t be as bad as this attempt at a Yorkshire accent
Whilst I think it's the worst attempt at a Yorkshire Accent I've ever heard (I'm from Leeds), it is a breath of fresh air compared to the other Americans on TV who, when prompted to attempt a British accent almost always start with "Ello Guv'nor".
I agree. It seems like a lot of Americans think the only British accents are cockney or received pronunciation. Watch the Celebrity Deathmatch clip of Noel vs. Liam Gallagher, they have cockney accents despite being from Manchester!
He doesn't sound that bad, though he does sound a bit 'Scottish' but that's okay too. That is hard though, 'putting on' an accent...the key is to not make it overemphasized but subtle. Reeve Carney on Penny Dreadful does such a good job I thought not knowing anything about him that he was British. lol. To me he sounded very much like Jonathan Firth! On the other hand, Peter Dinklage on Game of Thrones kind of overdoes it because he's over-articulating every word so it sounds 'stagey' more than natural. I like Peter, don't get me wrong, but I wish he'd naturalize his 'accent' just a little more...anyhow back to Josh. I have really, *really* enjoyed his work on Penny Dreadful as Ethan Chandler! Anyone else? *winking*
How come everyone mocks Josh Hartnett's terrible accent and nobody mentions Rachel Leigh Cook's?! It's even worse (if that were possible?!). Sorry, I love both of them and I'm a huge fan of most of their work, but jeez, if you can't get actors that can handle the accents, hire someone from the area you're setting the film in!
He did every accent apart from Yorkshire
ok i never thought i would ever watch josh hartnett attempt a yorkshire accent....oh dear god
So Yorkshire yeah..... Can't say I've ever heard anyone speak like that here. Mind you I've only lived in Yorkshire my whole life.
I'm watching this movie now on Netflix. I lol'd when I first heard him try to do a Yorkshire accent.

My Grimsby accent has been confused with Canadian before.

He is amazing in every movie he ever made and as a bonus, Josh is still hooottttt😍😍😍😍
Funny thing is he has the look of a Yorkshire lad but the accent... Wow
So he was doing a Yorkshire accent where I’m from and I genuinely feel bad for him like they set him up in this film
One of the best Geordie accents from a non Geordie I've heard 🤣 (BTW I'm a Geordie!)
That's supposed to be a Yorkshire accent? Sounded more Irish to me.
It did have a twang din't it
Right is "Josh's Yorkshire accent" :-D

Why didn't they dub him? Or why couldn't any of the English actors tell him he was making a total willy of himself? Oh, it's mortifying.
Am i the only one here thinking: "Josh Hartnett can speak however Josh Hartnett bloody wants"??
Yes.
My apologies, I need to scrub up on my internet lingo.
I got Scottish, Irish, American even a bit of Geordie. But no yorkshire. What possessed them? 😂
Yeah I know, we already established that a few posts down.
Nice accent
He does a crap Yorkshire accent, but he does an alright Geordie. LOL
I know lol. I live in the US and people here think we say that shit all the time lol.
the irony is he lives in the UK
@blakec33 You're kidding, right? He grew up in Minnesota. The american accent is his real one.
Funny! Didn't watch this movie yet. Doesn't sound like Josh Hartnett! I prefer his american accent.
you like dags?
U LIKE DAGZZZZ
/s means sarcasm
lol
Can't you people tell that this is his real accent, and he just does an american accent for his other movies?
/s

Odyssey Mosaic The Scottish are British, you fucking idiot!
I've seen worse, should give the guy some credit.

Good point. They use them so they can boost the box office. They tend to alienate them.
+Vikki Cook rachels character was american
Everyone's on about the accents; I'm offended by the shite acting.
Watching Rachel Leigh Cook is painful.
in what way?
