  • In this video, we replace the transmission oil and filter on a Hyundai i10, which is a recommended service procedure every four years for this model.
    Automatic transmissions, and the transmission oil used, are subject to wear and tear dependent on the vehicle’s operating conditions. Blue Print recommends regular checks and a service of the transmission oil and filter to optimize the service life - and performance - of the transmission.
    High-quality Blue Print transmission oil offers optimum friction behaviour and thermal stability, and provides ideal ageing resistance - assuring great wear protection under all operating conditions. This guarantees the best possible corrosion defence; ensuring the oil continues to protect the transmission and keeps it working efficiently and effectively.

    Do we need to check the transmission oil level at idling or switch off the engine after it's warmed up?

    • @BluePrintCarParts
      @BluePrintCarParts  Před rokem +2

      Thank you for watching our video. To check the transmission oil level, the vehicle needs to be brought up to the correct transmission oil temperature and with the engine idling.

      The procedure for draining and refilling the automatic transmission oil is as follows:
      1) Disconnect oil cooler return hose.
      2) Ensure selector lever in 'N'. Start engine and allow to idle. Drain ATF from oil cooler return hose.
      NOTE: Switch OFF engine within one minute or as soon as ATF has drained out.
      3) Remove drain plug and drain remaining ATF. Refit drain plug.
      4) Fill transmission with specified amount.
      CAUTION: Specified amount may overfill transmission.
      5) Ensure selector lever in 'N'. Start engine and allow to idle. Drain ATF from oil cooler return hose.
      NOTE: Switch OFF engine within one minute or as soon as ATF has drained out.
      6) Fill transmission with specified amount. Reconnect oil cooler return hose.
      CAUTION: Specified amount may overfill transmission.
      7) Start engine and allow to idle for 1-2 minutes. Select each gear, then return selector lever to 'P' or 'N'. Check ATF level.
      8) Drive vehicle and repeat level check when ATF temperature has reached 70-80°C.

    Good day,
    I bought a Febi Bilstein transmission filter kit for a 2011 i10 1.2. I see I have received an oil pan gasket. Can I use that gasket, or should I use the gasket maker/sealer. I still have to perform the service and want to make 101% sure I have everything ready before tackling the task. Regards

      Thank you for watching our video. We supply two kits, one with the filter and one with the filter and oil pan gasket. Depending if the original oil pan was sealed with a gasket or sealant, then use how it was originally sealed.

      Thanks a million, I ended up sealing it with Victor Reinz. I didn't want to risk it with the gasket, and then it leaks, just giving it 24 hours to cure before I add the fluid

    Ich hava a question. When do you have to put it again in P? Once the oil has drained or after filling new oil?

    • @BluePrintCarParts
      @BluePrintCarParts  Před rokem +1

      Thank you for watching our video. The oil should be drained in the neutral position. Then after the refill process has been completed, the gears should be selected as per the video. Then the oil level rechecked in the park position.
