That's just how you open it. If it's actually locked the round piece won't move. Unlocking it is what allows it to move and unlatch.
It doesn't automatically lock when you close it. You have to lock it with the key.

I bought an old case where one side was locked or stuck in the open position, and the other side latched, so I thought it was locked closed. Totally forgot how some of these open. The video helped remind me and saved me time. If I have one or two forgetful moments, or get lax in my wording, it doesn’t raise your IQ to point it out. SMHAYSYH
