Kashmiri Wedding nothing less than a heavenly affair. Kashmiri Muslim wedding is quite similar to Kashmiri Pandit wedding from the RASAMS to the WAZWAN. One can certainly say the Best and the most exotic wedding happens in heaven, Jammu & Kashmir.
At the onset of the Baraat, Wanwun a traditional Kashmiri Wedding Folk Song was sung.
The groom dressed in a pink sherwani along with the baraat goes to the bride's parents' house, where the Nikah ceremony is solemnized and the baratis are served the special wazwan called the Maharaz Saal. Post dinner bride goes to her in-laws after Rukhsati or Vidai from her parent's house.
After reaching her Sasural, her mother-in-law raised her ghoonghat revealing the bride to all her relatives and this rasam is called Muhar Tullun and the relatives chat and celebrate over cups of Zafrani Kahwa, calling it a night.
Kashmiri Wedding is certainly a grand a lavish affair and it won't be wrong to say that, it is certainly one of the most beautiful weddings in India.
