De elektrische locomotieven uit de serie 1200 die in dienst van NS waren een icoon op het Nederlandse spoorwegnet. Dit is misschien wel de meest geliefde locomotief in Nederland was en dat is zonder overdrijving.
Van iedere spoorwegliefhebber gaat het hart sneller kloppen bij deze indrukwekkende machine. De 1200 is al sinds 1998 buiten dienst bij de Nederlandse Spoorwegen, maar gelukkig zijn er een aantal bewaard gebleven.
