When I was little my uncle had a '54 Custom line in that same color,it was T boned while he and some coworkers were on their way home in 1964,I have vague memories of riding with he and my aunt in it.

Thank you. I drove one very similar 1970/71. It certainly is a very high quality Ford. 😊🙏

The 1954 model replaced the flathead V8 with an overhead valve one. Plus a newly designed dashboard which I really like. Probably a 2 speed automatic transmission with manual steering and brakes. Nice car!

It is a 3 speed, not a 2 speed. The first Ford 2 speed automatic came out in 59.

I had a coupe, white roof probably same blue.
Build quality and materials were superior to ‘53 or ‘55.

Those battery cables are too thin for 6 volts. You should be using 1 gauge cables - the smaller the number, the thicker the wire - or else you will have slow cranking. 6 volt starters draw twice the amps as 12 volt starters. And with 6 volts, you NEVER replace bad clamps with those bolt-on ones from chain auto parts stores. You replace THE ENTIRE CABLE. Also, I though Crestlines, like the 55 Fairlane, had opening rear vent panes.
