Stefan Kovacevic it is a different game man. It is not that one is better than the other, some great amateur boxers end up being average pros while some great pros were not that good at the amateurs. It is simply different.

Can someone explain the differences between amatueur and pro boxing? And why some only do well in the Olympics, but not normally (like the cubans)?

  • @Animefightforum

Recently voted the greatest amateur boxer of all time with his 396-1 record, 2x olympic subsequent gold medals in different weight classes (world first), and only 1 silver in his trophy room (literally a wall of gold medals and trophies).
He had to fight in this high paced style due to amateur rules, and rounds.
Think about him moving from 3 - 5 rounds to 12 rounds in the pros on his 2nd match. To do that and survive all 12 rounds against a 147lber doing 40+ low blows shows how mentally tough and physically in shape he is.
A true boxing prodigy and thank god we get to watch him in our era! He ruled over amateurs, and already setting multiple world-records in the pros.

@@Ricardo_Martinez only reason Pacquiao started at flyweight was because of his age when he turned pro and the fact that he lived in poverty so he was under fed, even sleeping in the gym he trained at. When he started getting money in and was eating properly he had no choice but to go up in weight. Also pacquiao carried his power up weight classes with him where Loma earns most of his KO wins with continuous educated pressure forcing his opponents to quit.

Already a Legend before turning Pro, A one in a generation type of fighter. Pretty sure that it'll take a long time before someone passes loma, that is if someone can even reach his level.
Disregarding the bashers, I'd honestly say that in the entirety of boxing history, Loma has the best boxing angles, he already surpassed everyone in terms of accuracy and angle shots. No one can do the same thing he can, win or lose, His skill is hard to reach.
The only way loma losses is if someone is overwhelmingly better than loma in the power category and gets a lucky power punch in, but that is highly unlikely as well with how perfect loma's defense is.
No hate, but loma already had surpassed the movements of the legends, A very lucky man that every boxer at the present is dreaming to attain (his skill I mean)
