  • Hey Guys! When I was learning how to stack large cakes like this I watched so many tutorials and it seemed like everyone was overcomplicating the process. My version is super simple yet still very structural. I hope this was helpful. Thank you guys for watching!

    So many questions because your cake is PERFECT!! How many guests would this cake feed not including the top tier? How much does the cake weigh? How long do you leave your cakes at the venue before the reception? Do you struggle with bulging since the tiers themselves are pretty tall?

    Hello Priscilla! What a great help with the 5 layers of wedding cake. I am going to practice so I will be alle to make my daughter's wedding cake in November. You gave a guide for the dowels, can you explain to me the difference in the colors on the picture? Is it the wooden and the plastic dowels or is it something else? And do you use artificial flowers? It would help me a lot, thank you! Just found your channel on CZcams! Greetings! 😊

    Sorry if im asking a question that has been asked before but do you have any cake boards underneath the layers as you stack them or is just cake on top of cake and no extra support

    Hi, just a quick question, did you make any holes on the cake board? Cuz it looks really easy for you to put the middle support through multiple tiers of cake. Thanks

    What kind of frosting did you use?it seems that its too stable that theres no fingerprints marks when you get the cake and arrange it..

    • @sandranavarro1703
      @sandranavarro1703 Před 3 lety +2

      I think I heard her mention in the video that she was using American Buttercream. The reason why there were no fingerprints is because she refrigerated the cake and the frosting firms up enough to be able to handle it without leaving any marks.

    • @celiadeltoro4751
      @celiadeltoro4751 Před 3 lety

      There are lots of cake boards that gave a hole in the center but if not what I tried is hitting the dowel gently with a hammer just to cut through the board

    • @HAK-iq1xf
      @HAK-iq1xf Před 3 lety +1

      You can buy cake boards that already have a hole in the middle but I just buy regular ones that don’t and sharpen my dowel and with a gentle knock it will go through all the boards in the tiers quite easily. She’s using regular skewers but you can find thicker and taller cake dowels on Amazon, especially if you’re going to be transporting the cake you might want more support than a thin short skewer.

    How does the centre dowel go through the cakes to the bottom?

    • @bakeupcakes
      @bakeupcakes  Před 2 lety +2

      I use skewers as my center dowels so they’re thin, sharp and can easily go through the cake board with the help of a hammer/mallet

  • @luvbheytb

      Always! They’re a must. The board is just the same size as the cake so you can’t see it

    • @bakeupcakes
      @bakeupcakes  Před 3 lety +2

      Sandra Nabakka I make sure the cakes have been refrigerated for hours before stacking. I use American buttercream, when it’s cold it firms up
