Hard luck boys you will get the dog soon ! That sword was huge what a breach! FFS please get a bentbutt adapter pin for that BM equalizer ... that looked off balance and painful lol I highly recommend aftco wire max leader gloves at a minimum too and 2-3 flying gaffs (big1s) .

You need to set the hook regardless of hook type, j hooks you strike when you get bit, circle and recurve hooks you wind until the weight fully comes on wich sets the hook.You can’t just do nothing when you get bit and expect to hook up that’s why you lost both fish.Also allowing bad line angles while fighting like you did doesn’t help either
