- The 2020 version of "The Invisible Man," directed by Leigh Whannell, introduced a new twist on the classic horror-movie monster, focusing on his abused ex-girlfriend Cecilia (played by Elisabeth Moss) rather than the invisible man himself, Adrian Griffin (played by Oliver Jackson-Cohen). In addition to shifting the central character, the filmmakers used a number of innovative techniques to make a character you can't see terrifying to watch, including some clever cinematography and visual effects. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at what makes "The Invisible Man" so much scarier than the original 1933 film.

How 'The Invisible Man' Made A Terrifying Villain That You Can't Even See | Movies Insider - Zábava
Imagine telling everyone you were in a movie and then they don't believe you because you were invisible
OMG-
Wow! That would be sad.
That's why they created end credits with full cast names
Tbh if you're playing an invisible man then it doesn't matter who it is in people's mind

It’s like people say “you’re not afraid of being alone in a dark room, you’re afraid of not being alone in a dark room”

Yea or like:
“You aren’t afraid of the dark, you’re afraid if what’s within it”
took me like 10 tries to actually read that correctly
myphone Died the dark doesn’t scare you... it’s the fact that you’re scared that something is there and you can’t see it
@myphone Died it means "your not scared of being alone all by yourself but your scared of whose/or what is with you in that specific room"

@@hardy16able Idk I didn't watch the film sry
If you watched the film you'd understand why he does what he does. Basically he's just an abusive, controlling, manipulative, selfish, sociopathic fucker. He does it because of his obsession with her because he has everything he could ever want yet he doesn't have 100% control of her. She's tries to escape his control and abuse which pisses him off and that's his motive throughout the whole movie.

She was IN THE KITCHEN why didn't she just use FLOUR honestly sometimes
because humans don't always think rational in situations of destress, fright and/or panic (etc) (and it is a film)
*spoiler*.
she did once and he was walking on the roof and another before they go to the kitchen but it was paint and he was in the kitchen to wash himself off and once she was there she couldn't tell if he's still even there and before she even does anything he started hitting her.
Why didn't she shoot him in the police station???? She falls down at one point and there clearly was a gun right next to her hand, the camera then pans down the hallway to the invisible standing around in plain sight for a fair few minutes, killing guards... After he kills the last cop, she then decides to grab the gun and chase after him. Completely pathetic storytelling.
She used paint when she was I the attic but then he washed it off (sorry if this was a spoiler)
I know right but I guess when your scared your main thinking is try not to die idk¯\_( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)_/¯
I saw this movie one night, came home at 3am and as I walked into my dark living room I felt something touch my shoulder I started swinging and screaming like a crazy lady. My mom woke up and switched the light on, turns out it was a balloon...that’s the story of how I’m not allowed to watch movies at midnight anymore...... the day b4 it was my mother’s bday, the living room was full of balloons and I forgot they were there...

Heheee, I too screamed and my brother came running but I found it was a cat sleeping next to me... I touched it fur and almost fainted... These movies create phobias

To see they did all of this with a $7 million dollar budget, this teaches that Hollywood studios don't need to spend millions of dollars to make amazing movies.
But they did spend millions... 😅
Most of the millions go towards marketing and the second biggest expense is the actors, then the actual movie.
TerasHD but still a 7-million dollar budget is super low compared to other movies where they usually spend from 20 to 50 million dollars.

Yeah, this film was a masterclass in good cinematography. Its effective use of stillness to build tension, great use of framing for scenes, and just sheer ability to make us feel what the characters feel - like we don't know where he is, and are afraid because of it - really elevated this movie far above the usual horror soup.

It's Hitchcock reimagined, he would cut to black and just have a sound, as "the audience will imagine the most horrifying thing they can" which he could never put on screen. An audience of 100 people would envision 100 different horrors. It's not what you see that frightens you the most, it's what you don't.

Hahahhahahaha
Such a great movie. All of the cast were great! My particular favorites were Oliver Jackson Cohen and Elizabeth Moss.
I heard the invisible man was made for people who pathologically lie too much and people forget the real situation, and when it's translated into a movie it's pretty much what the audience is seeing, but can only be realized through the usage of childhood memories and the unseen consequences of telling someone who may be the victim instead of you. Some of the situations were also crime scenes so people could remember that they were witnesses to a crime, but that could get really strange if you were with the pathological liar the entire time. I knew Elisabeth Moss and she was really great at interpreting this when she was younger (or maybe it was her mom) and would setup situations in and around the original Invisible man sets to spare people the humiliation when someone was perceived as making practical jokes.
If theres not a sequel called "green suit man" I'm gonna start havoc
