Wow this actually worked! I was getting way more stuttering than what was in your intro as well
Mostly worked for me. I have an Ryzen 3700x with an RTX 2080 but ETS2 still stuttered quite a bit (annoying mini freezes for fraction of a second). I still got a couple of stutters (I think) in half an hour of playing, but they were less noticable and normally I would probably have gotten 20-30 in that time.
You are a legend man, i was suffering from major lag stutters and with the help of your video i can play the game smoothly without any stutters at all GOD BLESS YOU!!! it still works in ets 2 1.43
I've had problems with stuttering since I got my new computer, complete with an i7 and GTX 1080 8gb, over a year ago. I thought it was a just another WIndows 10 thing but I stumbled on this video and it has completely fixed the problem. Thank you so much for the information and for the soothing voice commentary. Can you tack a sound bite to the end of it with you saying, "Leave me alone, I know what I'm doing!" just for the heck of it :) Thanks.

my another comment: Tried everything about graphic 3d settings, hardware accelerated gpu scheduling off, disabling full screen optimization, then steam notification off, disabling animated avatars on steam... but in the end playing "steam-offline" actually helps in my ets2 and ats!

Great video and yep I like to control vsync from the driver also as it works better with most games rather then using the in game settings from my testing over the years.

it runs nice now it goes 60fps, it was always going to 50 all way to 20fps after watching your video its stayed at 60fps and its smooth and runs good. thanks

This worked thank you, but you can also set the gps on your truck to blank or shut off the route advisorm having only one gps showing to reduce lag as well.
I get no fps drop or lag, when having both enabled, but lower end systems, im sure it would help

Funny thing is, that i didn't have those stutter up to about 120 hours into the game. Then they came. Lol

When you play, see if the saving game happens at the same time in the upper left corner, I still get it in euro truck but not ats, I have thought for a long time that its a saving issue, that scs needs to look at see if it is the cause

Brilliant. Having followed the video I have just done 15 minutes of smooth ETS2 gaming after weeks of stuttering.
I had it bad. It would stutter badly and then by the time it had recovered I had hit something! Cant believe the cure is so simple...for me anyway. i hope it helps others as this is so annoying for such a good game.
The scenery and colours seem to have become more real. Yes the stuttering was very bad in towns but up to now it seems to be working well
Before fix had to set the graphics to low and medium and 150% scaling Now after letting the card do the 3d settings I have it on Ultra and High settings and managed to get it stable at 350% scaling.
Current set up i5-6600k not over clocked, 16gig ram, GTX1080 not over clocked , 60hz 27" 1080p monitor, SSD with Windows 10 and game files on
I decided to take out one mod I was running too called better fps for ets2 just to see what this fix did on it own.
The stuttering was so bad that I could not run a mod I was interesting in running....... the more traffic Ai but after this fix I have switched it on
I now have thousands of vehicles slamming on their brakes in front of me without stuttering in full 3d hahahahahaha - not to mention the 60 cars in front of me at traffic lights!. Seems to have boosted the game
I think I am going to uninstall that mod...its a little too crazy but I appreciate the fix it has made a big difference

Yes and no, the key point is triple buffering, but also forcing the game to stay try and stay at 60fps, to keep it stable.
Its not. For some people it works, for others (many more) it doesnt.

i need help
it didnt fix my issue still got smooth gameplay yet randomly stuttering i cant enjoy the game no more when its doing this. Does adding ets2 and altering these settings work for online too or do i have to add the online game to nvidia and do the same again?
If its a different exe for online, and also you should enable the console and everytime it happens, see if it says something about, auto save, cause if it does then there is pretty much nothing you can do, other than starting fresh or removing all mods to see if it fixes it.
i have the same issue everything is on SSD and my system is,
Intel Core I5-7500 3.40GHZ Socket 1151 6MB,
Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB DDR4 2666MHz,
MSI NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 8GB Gaming X.......ill put it down to mods :) most likely the graphics realism mod i installed
My monitor has the V sync built in should I turn that off or leave it alone?
Use the monitor vsync and turn it off in both game and nvidia, you should get better fps
I have a monitor with 60hz refresh rate ,if i do the same thing u did will i get Screen tearing ?
If you leave it without enabling vsync you will get tearing, but not with enabled.

I would say yeah, it is client side, but it won't fix the lag that you might get with multiplayer though.

Perfect! After installing DLC Vive La France, whenever I drove inside France, map was laging too much and graphics quality became so poor... Now it doesn't, even with moded RJL! Just by following your instructions on nVidia settings. Thanks!

I have no Tripple buffering in my list. It says not available. I have Nvidia GTX 1050..... Can i change anything else to get better FPS?

Absolutely brilliant. Had just installed the 1.35 patch and the new Washington map, had taken off all my mods. Game was great with the exception of the lag....Did what was in here and all is fixed...Easiest to apply for those with NVidia cards but you can likely figure it out for AMD cards as wells
i have 160 fps max settings 400% scaling with mods most of the time but the stutters are so annoying

Hi, i am experiencing lag on ATS during the game. I have a intel i3 with 1.7 dual core cpu and intel hd graphics 4400 with 4 gb ddr3 ram. i run the game on low settings but it still lags. Please help or suggest any app by which my game could get smoother. i know my laptop is capable of running the game on low graphics but even on the lowest graphics it lags
Intel graphics is no good for ats and or euro truck, you would need an upgrade to get better performance
I have tried everything so far besides downloading 3rd party applications which I don't trust and nothing seems to work. I have a great system with an i5 6600k @4.6 and a GTX 1060 6gb variant. I use to get a lot of FPS and by a lot i mean the settings cranked up all the way to ultra, i would get 100 fps on the road and in the cities like Las Vegas (very heavy on a pc) I got 50-60. I'm not sure what is the problem here. I know get 24 fps on extremely low graphics. It even reinstalled windows and it still gave me that problem. If you could give me some tips on what's the problem I'd very much appreciate it
Have you tried the setting in the video, if you have then removed all the mods you are not using and see if that helps
i have tried everything in the video and believe it or not when i got in the sim i got worse fps. to give you a number it was between 13-15 fps after i applied your settings
So, your problem is low fps or stuttering? they are two different things. The video shows you how to fix stuttering not how to increase fps, in fact activating vertical sync will do precisely the opposite. Activating vertical sync you are limiting your fps to your monitor hz. So you are never going to get more than 60 fps. If you want to get as many fps as you can you need to DEACTIVATE vertical sync. If you want to fix stuttering you need to activate it.

hi I am using my Intel core i3 laptop with minimum requirements that is 2.40ghz is there any chance that how to fix lag in Single player. Earlier I didn't had any issue . Kindly Help me ASAP. I am commenting here as someone lastly commented that your method is working for him but I can't test with Nvidia it's something like that don't remember the exact name.
I you have everyday i3 laptop the chances are that you don't have a gpu, and the only thing I can recommend is run the game on the lowest settings and see if that is smooth and if so bring up the settings till it looks good but is still playable.

As far as I know the GPU features on CPU's don't have the settings, but maybe play around with them see if something helps.

try lowering your graphics settings and resolution, see if that helps
had the same with a rtx 2080. My fix was to go to the nvidia control panel, and change the power mode to the best one (not sure which one it is). Changing res didn't work, nor did lowering settings.

Uninstall any mods that modify the colour of the trucks and see if that helps, its likely a mods causing that, although I have never had that issue.

It definitely does, so asjusting it will improve, but I did say don't copy my settings so if you need to lower them to help you get improvement

I have something weird going on I downloaded the freightliner cascadia from cyrus and It looks awesome, except for one thing.Where the sun is shining (on certain parts of the truck) there are these little tiny dots where its supposed to be reflecting the sunlight. It is hard to explain to you what I am talking about. I hope you understand. It is driving me nutz. I picked a white color to run fed ex and companies that run this color. Your time and answer will be greatly appreciated. I hope you are anybody that can, Please help. Thanks again
The only thing I can think of is that the mod is not up to date, I haven't used the freightliner cascadia in a while because a lot of them are not updated, although I have not looked to see if they have been, waiting on scs to release their version which should be soon hopefully.
@@ArcadeMameMachine That seems to be the only issue I am having at the moment. I have decided to keep it. Until it becomes unusable all together. This is the model I had when I drove for Werner also drove an International Prostar. That was a mountain climbing truck. Man ! that truck would pull a heavy load of the mountains of Tennessee.
I haven't seen the Prostar in the game at all! I wish I knew how to skin. It is just so hard when you haven't got Adobe photoshop to work yet.
@@tmangamingx sounds like you had a great time, you can use other image software to create skins and I suppose as long as the truck drives well the glitches can be ignored.
@@ArcadeMameMachine I am having a blast re living my truck driving years especially all of the tight back I had to do in the past. That really aggravated the hell out of me then. I was like how in the hell am I gonna back this thing in there? Kind of thing LoL I think it is just the white that has the glitch so I am just gonna change colors and deal with it that way and hope for an improvement come. have you got the nividia drivers installed, also look in the control panel of your operating system

you will need to install the drivers for whichever GPU you have, for example nvidia or AMD, if you have Intel based I don't think this will help.

As u see my old comment 4 years ago u know I been messsing with the setting for long time I I notice something bout particular spec I do have a gtx1070ti in game scaling is set to 200 if I lower it the game lags strange but that’s not all I notice in config file by default the buffer scale is 1.0 n all I get is lag n rubber band effect I just can’t figure nothing out I even get nvidia inspector ain’t do much but it helps until I go in my config file to buffer scale n set 1.0 all way to 2.2 start game n notice how good it look n the confusing part is that the game runs so much better I mean big results when I pull up to a city 95 % of lag is gone but I’m confuse on how be putting it up make game run n look good but down it looks not so good lag n rubber band effect also for got to mention i play vr n lag ain’t it for vr but now smooth
That's strange, I can only assume its bad coding on the dev side, maybe you could post it on the forums to let them know, performance is laggy at lower scale settings in vr also check if someone else has had the same issue

Check the upper left corner, and see if it says it saving when the stuttering happens, because if so that is scs saving issue I also have that
