    I always wonder why outdoor stores don't offer refills using .a very large butane tank. Esp the ones that pride themselves in being "green"

    Thats genuis, the jetboil has the smal canisters that fit into the flash in a compact unit. Being able to refill that up is cost effective

    Awesome product! AMAZING PRICE! What is the difference between butane and isobutane? Those "spray can" butane cans are like $1.25 at the Asian grocery store, sometimes $1 each on sale! The large isobutane cans are MUCH cheaper per ounce than the tiny ones also.

    George, have you found a website that gives straight answers about flammable gases? All the ones I've seen hem-haw around about it. I'd like to have definite answers to things like which is cheapest to use, safest to store, and easiest to transport. And BTW, have you seen stores run out of the ~ 1 lb green propane cylinders?

      Have not found any good sites like that, what I have seen is just stuff from camp stove sites, I HAVE seen our local walmart run out of them, however now they are pretty well stocked, you could not find them for a long time after march 2020

    So in the options of refilling, I did not see propane(Coleman)to the isobutane canister. Is this not possible?
    One of my pet peeves about the 16oz propane is that they're is not a smaller Lindahl option.

    Can you fill propane into isobutane cans?

    • @philiptong4978
      @philiptong4978 Před rokem +1

      EN417 is spec'd at 13.2 bar at 50C, vapour pressure of 100% propane at 50C is 17 bar, you decide ...

    • @HifiCentret
      @HifiCentret Před rokem

      The video shouldn't show these options without pointing out you should only fill with appropriate fuel - it fails to do so and I think its on the edge of being dangerous to people who doesn't know what they're dealing with. Sure you can use adapters and gather smaller propane portions in one tank. But filling with a gas with higher presure isn't recommended at all. Filling lesser presure gasses into tanks with high ability sure is acceptable just remember performance may be impacted. Therefore only butane -> isobutane (butane and propane mix "universal gas") -> propane is acceptable - not the other way round.

    • @Iridium242

      Butane is heavier than Propane but not by much, so weight for weight it's a pretty close call. That said, It is less toxic and so can legally be used and stored indoors. It also contains around 10% more energy than Propane and so you can squeeze more running time into the same sized bottle.

    • @05generic
      @05generic Před 3 lety +3

      @@Iridium242 And Propane produces more pressure and so requires a thicker, heavier container.
