- We have some BRAND NEW features in the game this week, featuring a new arena carriable - the Glitch Barrel! Also this week presents us some great changes that a lot of the melee players have been asking for, and honeslty the Dagger right now feels so fun to play!
Sorry for the lower quality video, we had issues launching the game, on top of that Embark changed the keybindings from F12 to F10, and for me for some reason it just doesn't work, also GeForce NOW is down for THE FINALS so I had a real bad morning :(

Ohhhh trueee, that's actually a good point. I will say that I still don't really see people picking it up and carrying it across the map to attack/defend, like the red barrel c4 ahah, but I will say "in the moment" wise I agree that it could be huge.

@@THiiXY sure, but it’s great for improvisation! I’m not a great player but I love Jackie Chan style fights, using anything nearby in the middle of a fight.
I think the big danger with glitch barrels is that unlike glitch nades barrels can harm your teammates and also the barrels can be shot and triggers by everyone.
the glitch barrel was an amzing idea, i think it adds just a bit more strategy in the game, bc heavy and mediums can glitch now. obviously not a lot, but its something
I mean as a medium I used to sacrifice myself a lot against a team in powershift by using cl-40 with glitch mine. Overall, though, I totally agree.
But it also kinda removes the necessity of light’s glitch grenades
@@FreelanceMexican I think glitch grenades is still useful, you can glitch on command instead of finding a barrel and you can aim perfectly with the grenades so their will be a divide but i definitely welcome the new glitch barrel, i just can’t wait how this game changes in a year or two
I think it shouldn’t come out when light is considered the weakest class in the game.

there's new cosmetics for the contestants too! a pink skull sweater, black "darque mood" hair, pink shorts with white leggings, some pink shoes, and a new expression (i think since last week store's update) called "whaaaat" to name a few. I think that new expression is a nod to John Travolta in Pulp Fiction. I love when they add some stuff they didn't hint at

It’s awesome that all classes can glitch to some extent now, makes me wonder if they’ll add healing barrels at some point to give some AOE healing to all classes…
Yeah it’s definitely useful for power shift for example where APS are dominant on the platform.
Also healing barrels is an interesting one… I think as long as it’s not crazy OP it could be useful

My only complaint is that now you can't hear the voices of the enemy contestants, for me it added a bit of life into the game since it reminded you of the fact that you're playing against other contestants
Oh that's interesting! I never did before, but I totally welcome that (BF vibes). Also that would explain some deaths I had yesterday where I was completely hidden and away from enemies...
Yeah I like that point, I do agree that especially in modes like "Terminal Attack" as soon as the round starts it does feel kind of "dead" in that realm. I know they muted the audience to keep the game more serious (hearing footsteps better etc) but I think that's also a cool point
One time I heard my opponent breathing because he was low hp he also had cloak too
Was this a change from this patch or the previous patch? Sneaking up behind snipers and spamming hello was always fun
@@THiiXYis this 100%? When people revive someone the contestant would say going for a revive and I could hear that more often than not. Surprised it's removed so fast but it makes sense it was advantageous for sure.
i honestly think glitch barrel isn't a great idea, because it takes away the only utility that light had (glitch nades) that medium and heavy couldn't use, meaning that people now have almost no reason to pick light in ranked.
i hope embark will add more team based gadgets to light next season
you can't spam hype anymore, the secondary message wheel doesn't work when dead or wiped. The new glitch barrel is also not in the data reshaper loot pool
NOOOOO that hype spam was a part of my playstyle lol, I mean maybe it's a good thing because it was used kinda toxic but I think they will update the data reshaper, that's a good point (and good find, thank you!)

You say Glitch barrel won't change the game that much or not revolutionary, but come on dude not being able to use ability for a light player or a tank and mid heal will make the game more revolutionary 🙂, just think about it, the glitch grenade that only light was able to use but its underrated and now everyone can use Glitch, no abilities mid fight, just a light without dash, tank without shield, mid without heal while his team is dying.
Didn't want it to be very long but it is what it is.
The actual addition of the glitch barrel is good, but I even said in the video that my point is, that this is situational, meaning people aren't going to find or hunt down a glitch barrel, bring it with them to a fight like they did with red barrel C4. Situationally though, of course it's strong, if you're mid fight and there just happens to be a glitch barrel there or above you, ofc it's strong. Hopefully that clarifies the context.
Spamming hype is my fav, glitch barrels are going to be a lot of fun. Running into a bunkered down cash out with the boys throwing hella barrels onto some heavy’s is gonna be great.

The moment the finals devs stop catering to the NPCs in the finals chat on Discord this game will prosper. it really seems like they don't know how to run a game without input from the community complaints from the NPCs right now but the moment they let go of that, this game will prosper. it's crazy it's like they don't even play their own game or even try to get good at it, it's ridiculous.
I think glitch barrel is ultimately a healthy change.
I think shields and to an extent aps were very common, and that sometimes causes frustration (heavy shield stacking/healbeam spam on a cashout for example). Letting people prepare a way to deal with these options in a universal mechanic is a good thing.
Its also still riskier than glitch nades-you have to spend time to find one and thats not always an option, plus they can be destroyed by the enemy.
I have personal bias though, as it would make the heavy grenade launcher much better at pushing into places with an aps.
Yeah I think the GL-40 is actually pretty strong, and in some cases under-rated, but compared to the heavy GL, it's really underwhelming...
I can see glitch barrels being a major component in shift game mode where people seem to stack bubble shield and trophy on the platform. Also in stopping the those damn turrets alot quicker and mines.
Yeah 100% I just think in other modes they are situational as they will be super strong if they're actually present with you in fights, but obviously people wouldn't really carry one all the way over

Hey Thixy, I know you criticized third partying because you said it in your last live stream. Do you have any ideas to fix it? Reducing the number of teams and making it only 3v3 would be a move that would reduce the energy of the game. After 2 rounds, you must have felt the difference in the low energy in the final round. It wouldn't be nice if that lack of energy spread throughout the game. Idk what the solution could be. The only solution could be making bank it not the ranked mode but maybe adding it as a second ranked mode.
Yoooo! Sorry for the late reply! I had a suggestion that you should be rewarded incrementally for holding a cashout, meaning, if you hold the cashout for 75% of its duration, you should get 50% of the cash as a reward for defending. The reason is because if you get third partied, it’s likely when teams are diving in during the latter stages of the cashout, and burning through all your health and abilities on one team, before fighting another is pretty harsh. Just my suggestion, what do you think? :D
Glitch barrels basically another light nerf. Glitch grenades were one of the very few reasons to play light. Smh
hopefully next season medium can call in airstrikes or sum 😂 and i wish theyd add a mode where ur ability cooldowns are half reduced

First of all, you are killing it with that dagger lol. Anyway, I think lights are in a good place. I'm a light main and in plat 2 rn I'm having a good time. Maybe it's different once I get higher in rank though so we'll see. I never liked the stun gun, they could take it out of the game and it wouldn't make a difference. Glitch barrel looks fun! Ayy thank you I will admit I definitely felt like I was I the right game at the right time haha, yeah I think it might be that you’re very cautious of lights health pool, so you know that the stakes are higher not to just play as aggressive as others would in casual game modes, but could be wrong and if you’re enjoying light as is then that’s awesome :) thank you for the support! :D

The dagger is dominating matches right now. just one hitting lights and mediums. The dagger's backstab should only do 149 damage, similarly to the RPG. It should be easy enough to hit one additional time assuming the target is at full health thus not one shotting any class. Two backstabs would still take out a medium.
I have yet to try the dagger, but it has ruined the matches i have been in today.
I was playing with my friends earlier and the dagger was getting backstabs that it 100% should not be getting, kinda worrying but I’m all for it being fixed, but maybe this is a little too much idk

Glitch barrels make light players even more useless, especially since no one uses them in high ranks.
yeah I mentioned that in high ranks, it's a problem right now, I know a few light mains who are very skilled at what they do in ranked, but these are exeptional players. In unranked, light is pretty damn good but yeah the "meta" light gets "crushed" a little.

Yeah ofc, I think it's going to be helpful scenario wise for sure, but at the moment I don't see it revolutionizing that much about the game unless the barrel happens to "be there" in the moment for example.

I'm pretty psyched for it. Great way to start an attack on a cash out for non-lights, especially if you know that particular team is centered around a heavy.

Yeah I agree, but I will say these barrels are very scenario based, I don't see them being as bad for an addition in the game.
At this point ive given up with light in high ranked (diamond 2) i even mained it. But after seeing soooo many cashouts get stolen by a double heavy dome/mesh shield w a medium ive given up. Why in any competitive scenario would you run something that takes so much effort when you can just ability spam and win w/ very little effort (and maybe barely decent timing)? Worst feeling in the world is when you put in so much effort and skill into winning a teamfight only to have a HHM team win without even killing someone. Why do you think HHM is banned in competitive tourneys? Its laughable to watch an entire class (not just a weapon or gadget but the ENTIRE CLASS) become non viable. It reminds me of ow goats meta.
Now i know this is just a light main ranting (booo opinion rejected). But can we at least acknowledge that something has to be done to the class to make it viable. Maybe more team play focused and a little less selfish.
I honestly do agree with some of your points here, and it does kind of feel like the community is light = you shouldn't be heard but I like to hear everyones perspective and talking points.
From what I've been saying myself, and seeing in game is that a lot of the "light hate" does come from non-ranked games, which I do agree light shines very well and is dominant if played with someone that values their HP pool.
For ranked, light has just constantly been battered out of the "meta", especially when you manage to take a cashout aganst another team, then a third party comes a long. I will say that I do know of top 50/100 etc light players that still shine in ranked, but this is mainly to do with being in a team, and individually talented, so co-ordination is effective.
But yeah GOATS was the reason why OW changed up a big part of the game, and I don't really have a solution to think of right now other than having two different balancing scenarios for ranked and unranked. The problem with that is Terminal Attack will likely become a ranked mode, so they will potentially have balancing in there too, and it's a lot of work.
Either way, I just wanted to reply so you know that I hear you, and hope something in done in Season 3.

I write pointers mainly, sometimes I'll write a pointer that goes along something like "Charge'N'Slam can now clear higher obstacles when activated on the ground to reduce instances where players get stuck on geometry" when I'm speaking about very technical stuff, but I do vary sometimes with my own words

Just so I know - are you talking about how the APS counters the GL-40? Because that's intended. If you want to counter it, the GL-40 explosive range is greater than the APS range, so you have to shoot just outside of it. A pain I know but that's the only counter (or data reshaper).

My emotes have been glitched since game came out I have 4 emotes equipped and can only use 1 …
To fix that I think you need to delete your contestants from the menu, then re make them it’s annoying to remake but should work, if you need me to explain more lmk :)

they still need to fix the riot shield not blocking a LOT of bullets or damage. i know im not the only one whos had people blasting you in the face and killing you or melee through your shields. riot needs some love.
Not saying you don't know but just checking - they can shoot your feet is that it or do you mean literally when moving around etc?
@@THiiXY it's happened to me in a lot of situations and it's always strange because you'll see rounds hitting mid chest then suddenly you take a huge chunk. I'll have to find a clip to post
@@THiiXY I think it may be an issue with the model moving way more than it seems for you since i usually catch the occasional other riot shield player the same way. would have to test that though

Eh, to some extent. Don't forget that this will probably be very scenario based (the barrels actually being close by), I don't see teams carrying it around like it's a red barrel C4 explosive.
So they're replacing and nerfing light, taking away it's only relevant utility 1 by 1... wtf embark? I feel Glitch barrels arent bad to the game but give love to light utility for competitive gameplay and strats.
Yeah I was mentioning in the video that competitive wise for light is pretty shafted, but casual wise light is pretty strong in modes like Powershift etc because ofc it's less punishing and the stakes are way lower etc
