    I have the regular pair of LOVE earrings and LOVE them. They come with a different back that has a closure you squeeze instead. Much much easier. I have a pair of diamond studs with a similar screw closure that I hate - my hair is constantly getting caught as I’m twisting.

      I know those ones 😊I was contemplating between those and these ones no idea these would be such a hassle down the line 🤦🏻‍♀️

    Omg thanks for this video! I’m just about to check out my cart with these because I’m looking for a pair that don’t stab me. It’s for my 2nd & 3rd hole on the lobes though so really need them not to stab. Great tips from your SA about regular cleaning. 🙏🏼

    Question: how does these compare to the van cleef sweet size earrings?

    Thanks for sharing. I am thinking about to buy one 🤔

    The love stud is gorgeous but as I was told by Cartier customer service you need someone else to put the back on for you. the hole is so tiny it is impossible to do yourself and because it is round it slips out of your fingers easily. I suppose this is why it is called the "love earring." I received it for my birthday and thought I would have to return it but my husband would not give up. You can easily remove it yourself and tighten it yourself. It has a screw back.

    I love this pair of earrings, i literally nearly bought it but cartier store last year but I thought about the taking off issue so left them behind, but still love them 👍🌹

    It’s probably also how long the actual “stick” or how short rather compared to your ear lobe. It was probably too short and caused the swelling. Could be! This has happened to me before and that was the issue.

      It was actually dead skin that accumulated over time and jammed the mechanism. So I’m more vigilant about cleaning them on a weekly basis now.

    I’m not a fan of that design. It is to simple for the price. I know, you are paying for the brand, but the only important thing is that you love them.
    About the ball at the back, totally agree with you. Definitely is very comfortable BUT it is a nightmare to put in a take off.
    I got a lot of non designer earrings like that “mechanism” and I lost a lot of balls. Be careful!

      @brokebrowngal590  Před 2 lety

      I love the earrings but “hate” that ball mechanism it’s a pain to take on and off and unless I’m sitting on a white towel I don’t dare take them off they are so tiny and so slippery it’s imposible to get a firm grip on them.
      So far I’ve had my SA put them on and take them off for me but that’s not a regular practice I can adopt 🙈

    In terms of durability and tarnish resistance, what do you prefer rose gold or yellow gold? Can’t make my mind for van cleef

    • @brokebrowngal590
      @brokebrowngal590  Před 2 lety

      Hey Shirobodi,
      Since are both are 18k gold there is no tarnishing also durability is the same for both. Yellow or rose gold is a matter of personal preference so whichever appeals to you most go with that ☺️

      @@brokebrowngal590 This is not quite true. 18k gold (be it yellow, or rose, or white) will tarnish as well. If you really don't want gold not to tarnish, it would have to be 24k, but 24k gold is too soft and bendable for dedicate jewelry design. White gold needs periodic replating as well (because over time, the white plating will wear off, leaving the underlying yellowish gold tone resurfaced). Alternatively, go for platinum (which doesn't tarnish), and platinum is a lot stronger than gold, but it's much much more expensive.

    I have these same love earrings, sold as singles, from Cartier Boutique as well. I reckon they are really for other pierced body parts (eg. nose), that's why they have longer posts, and the backs are balls, rather than regular flat backs. She's using these body-pierced love studs as earrings, that's why she has had to get the posts cut.
    I do like the smaller size (6mm), rather than the regular love studs (7.2mm). I don't know what this youtuber's country of origin, but in US, it's US$550 (as of 2022), per.
    To be honest, it's standard hygiene practice to take your earrings off and clean them as well as your earlobes regularly. Overtime, dead skins and dirt will get in the way, this is true for everything else, including any other earrings. This is not a design flaw of the ball backs of this earrings, it's just the way everything works!!! That's why you don't see anyone complaining about it because no one would leave the earrings on, 24x7 for weeks on ends. :)
