When I was a kid I asked my dad to buy In keeping secrets and he thought it was some weird stuff and a guy at record and tape traders told him coheed was the new rush and he bought it. bless that man for helping me get that album.
This is so good but you must hear “The Wave” or “”Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🔥🤘🎸
My dad actually loves Coheed and Cambria. He went to a concert with my sister like 10 years ago, and was instantly sold. He ended up going with us to a few other Coheed concerts over the years too. Good music simply appeals to all generations.
Exactly the same, I was obsessed with them for years but this new stuff is just crazy bad. They’ve lost that niche sound they had. Bands change though I get it. They deserve success.
@h4r4 For me personally, it depends heavily on the individual song. I admit that I don't always love every single track, but there are still some nice tunes mixed in also.
@@h4r4The Rush parallels are crazy lol, Claudio is in his 80s Rush phase rn, using too many synths/effects.
That being said, I still like all the new stuff, just not as much. Maybe they'll end up writing their Counterparts or Clockwork Angels equivalents soon
Every new Coheed just reaffirms why they are my favorite band, since 2004 just fucking making my day.
Same! Except they've been my favorite since 2003.
Lol same, remember hitting IKS in the basement of a high school party and here I am 20 years later
2004 here! There's a reason I have a whole Coheed sleeve haha
my favorite band is breaking benjamin
You have absolute garbage taste if they've been your favorite for any period of time.
A new Coheed song ON MY ACTUAL BIRTHDAY 😍😍
Happy Birthday 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Happy birthday! 🎉🎁🎈
Happy birthday! Hope you have a great day!!

Yoooo Zack was holding it DOWN on the bass 💪🏾. This band is aging like fine wine. Been a fan for 21 years
Every new album I'm reminded that Zack was the perfect puzzle piece for the band after Mike left
I've been a fan for 21 years and 1 hour.
Coop fan!
No auto tune on vocals and I'd agree with you but im not a fan of the new sound, decent song though
My absolute favorite band and I feel like they're aging like a Pabst left out in the sun. I'm begging for music like the first 4 or 5 CDs
That walking riff is so unsettling and I love it.
Kind of reminds me of a circus....don't know why I connected it to that but it's a really cool riff.
Yep crazy carnival killer clowns from outer space shit. I love the stark contrast.
Is it detuned or dissonant?
It is awful lol
@@erroldtumaque3430it’s just a dissonant sound. It goes against the key that the rest of the song had established.
Sometimes I forget to listen to music and I catch myself in some dark places. Coheed have always been very therapeutic for me. I love this band and there isn’t another band that serves my depression the way Coheed does
OK. So Coheeds loneliness is a comfort to others?
Me too they helped me through my ptsd I’m so thankful for them.❤

Not even Coheed could uncringe the joker.
I'll never forget coming home from school in 2006 and putting on Channel V on that old TV and hearing The Suffering for the first time... Alot has happened since then. Many ups and downs, many battles lost... The one thing that remained consistent in my life was Coheed and Cambria. Thank you guys.
Remember Fuse!? I loved when it was nothing but a ton of music videos.
Coheeds sound is somehow getting more pop oriented while getting weirder sounding lol love it
I don’t think anyone blends poppy hooks with prog rock intricacies/weirdness better
@@jahigains9201 I definitely dig that blend, but I don't want it to become their entire sound from here on out.
@@amccutcheon1988 Agreed...
That chorus is so beautiful that I am literally tearing up at my desk as work.
For 22 years I’ve been drawn to this band! Through the ups and downs! I love the fact that every album, every song is different and unique to this band! I have yet to be disappointed! 😎
My daughter introduced me to Coheed and Cambria many many moons ago. For awhile I think it offended her that I liked them so much. I had to let her get over it cuz ... well fabulous music is fabulous music.
It’s a family affair here too! My mum made my older sister take me, she fell hard in love with Coheed then our mum ended up loving them too. Now we all try to make a point of seeing Coheed as a family, even now when I’m 29 and my sister is 33! We can’t wait to take my niece to her first Coheed show!

My son is turning 18 and for his birthday he wants a keywork tattoo like Dad. Couldn't be prouder .
Sounds like an episode of American Dad when Haley introduces My Morning Jacket to Stan and he becomes OBSESSED with the band.
Well if this is what is to come . We are all in for a hell of a ride.. this is awesome . The changes ,the progression. I'm all in

Hell yeah saw a comment with props to the new bassist with way more comments and likes, but this one needed love to. Josh seems so cool in real life and i think he has a brother that’s a semi famous musician as well
Coheed 20 years later, still putting out banger after banger. Claudios voice is still as good as ever! This band is GOAT'd

This is so good but you must hear “The Wave” or “Whispering Wolf” by SLT 🐺🤘🎧
Who?
The visual storytelling and production of these past few music videos has been astounding. Since leaving equal vision, you guys (and gals) have done nothing but improved and excelled both musically and creatively. This is something to be proud of, and I'm grateful to be able to have seen this journey progress.
Keep pushing, keep creating. As long as you love this as much as we do, this is the way.
I kindly request that Claudio say the phrase, "I'm the Joker, baby," on the next album.
Al and the boys still killing it per the norm.
Song has been on repeat today 🔁
This is so good but you must hear “The Wave” or “Seen/Unseen” by SLT 🤘🎶🤘
This is the greatest band to have ever existed, I love them so much
Song sounded great on Daniel Carter's radio show, but I'm anxious to hear it without the normal radio compression. Bass sounded awesome, and I'm loving the Al the Killer promo artwork!
That bass line in verse two (chefs kiss)
My man, you're an everyday hero. Playing the show on the iPlayer and I've managed to find it. Based on the little promo clip they put out I did NOT expect it to sound anything like it does. It's a lot heavier in parts.
IIRC this may be the demo version, without the full mixing and recording that it will have on the album. Or that is a possible interpretation of something it says on the vinyl pre-order page: "The Joke is a track that came from album sessions". But, idk. I could be misreading that.
I can't believe these guys are still out there making music. I found them in maybe 2006 or 2007 jeez
I can see older fans not being excited about this, but I like it. Uplifting tone with twisted lyrics, just what C&C is best known for. Looking forward to how their "Blindside Sunny" demo will sound like.
Yknow, I didn’t like their departure project, color before the sun, then listened again 2 years later more, and I like a lot of it. Same with their last album. But I’d say I’m glad they are still experimenting as artists , reminds me to do so myself too..
But- yes after the Afterman albums, I haven’t liked the 2 releases since as much overall but there’s always gems too !
Been listening since SSTB came out and I’ve found since TCBTS I haven’t been as obsessed with their newer stuff. If it comes on my Spotify I’ll listen and enjoy it but I find it harder to distinguish certain tracks from each other with albums like Vaxis1&2. Albums 1-4 I will forever obsess over but I’m still interested to see where Coheed grows and goes
I am an old. This is in line with their progression. While I am an early catalog fan they have to keep changing and enjoy their creative process.
I am of similar vintage (mid 40s). They are completely different people 21 years into their fantastic run!!!
@@JordanHowellMusicafterman is my second favorite era :-)
@@JordanHowellMusic I'm right there with you, you said it perfectly. but as someone who loves metal and hard rock, The Afterman was just heavy enough for me to still love it in the rock category, actually the 2 parts are my favorite from them. Everything after didn't have the edge that I needed. I may be stuck in my ways, but i'll always love this band and stay curious about what they're up to.
It's everything I love in a Coheed and Cambria song. And Al front and center!
I have loved Coheed and Cambria since I first heard their soundtrack welcome home on the trailer to the movie 9 by Tim Burton. This is such an amazing song I am proud and happy to see what more will come of this album and band. 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

New coheed songs are always a blessing
Really surprised this wasn't on VAXIS II, Great song as expected! One Among the Fence!
Agreed, it's almost like a much better version of Bad Man. That's the one song from Vaxis II that doesn't really hit for me. Having said that, I love the combo of this and Deranged being released together.
@@dylansmarr3254I liked Bad Man. I feel like Blood is the most forgettable song off that album (I had to look up the album just now to see which song it was I forgot)
@@dylansmarr3254 Bad Man was one of three good songs on that record lol. modern coheed fans wild
@@ejiggleDefinitely disagree with you!
that's probably because the Vaxis albums were following a different timeline. AI the killer died during the Amory Wars. vaxis takes place much further into the future. most (with the exception of one album) coheed and cambria albums follow the events in the Comics Claudio Sanchez writes.
I’m just loving the fact that Coheed keeps making music videos like I grew up watching. Back to the MTV days when you would learn about music by watching videos. I heard about Coheed through their music videos for welcome home and blood red summer back in the early 2000’s and have been a fan ever since.
Coheed entering their Keyboard/Piano phase is a spectacle Im privileged to be apart of!
I personally disagree, it feels for me that coheed is releasing the same songs since 2018
@rerditirerthz5568 that's because you are sofa king we todd id
@@rerditirerthz5568 Yep this. Plus he needs to cut the vocal distortions, just use your beautiful voice, Claudio!
It's like 80s Rush all over again
@CJDalley-ki7vw Yeah! One of the main reasons why i love coheed( SSTB to AFTERMANS) the songs were equaled to a great story with unespected plot twists, great change of strcutures, development of the main ideias and diferrent dynamics that in theory dosen't work but the boys woukd make it work. Since VA I, if you hear the first 5 seconds of the song you already know what is to come trought the rest, even if it's the first time you heard the song.
I'm happy that the VA series gave the band even more fans, bigger households to play and both public and critical recognation they deserve( and even more! )But the current phase of the band is underwhelming predictable and "safe" for coheed terms IMO.
Al looks just like his character in the book! Blew my mind. I really love the rhythm and hint of darkness in this tune. So much contrast going on as usual. Damn I fucking love this band so much.
The wide open feeling chorus is such a good musical choice to make. Loving pretty much every element of this song.
Side note. Can you imagine a tour with Starset? Space opera for hours.
COTF LETS GO!
Here we go again! 😎 excited to see something new with al the killer on it.
