- I sat down with Mark Pellegrino to talk about his new CW series 'The Tomorrow People' but we ended up on a tangent about 'Supernatural', which led to his attempt to justify Lucifer's reasoning. I see his point, but I still think Lucifer was way harsh, Tai!

'the hell crawled up Ryan's ass? She said this is the man who made her love Lucifer. Lucifer, like many of lores and biblical characters, is a character on Supernatural. Mark's portrayal and interpretation of his character made her love him. So yes, it's because of Mark as a person because he chose how to play him. He was given the lines but he brought Lucifer to life and chose how to play him. I also love Lucifer. The character. Played by Mark Pellegrino. I probably wouldn't love him so much if Jared played Lucifer the whole time as Jared played him outrightly cruel and cold while Mark played him to be cute and casual and snarky and kind of childish. He's a crazily complex character, and Mark's performance was phenomenal. And we're all big fans of the show. So it's not shocking or "retarded" that she'd say what she said. People say it all the time. It's like a big joke how we all love these crazy villainous characters and here with our fandom fam, we feel free to say these things that sound crazy to everyone else but then all us Spn fans are just like "same." Why are you even here ruining people's fun? Think before you speak, Ryan.

The odd thing is that Michael didn't like humans anymore than Lucifer did. The big difference was that Lucifer admitted to God's face that he hated humans, where as Michael waited till he thought God was dead.

i can kind of understand where lucifer is coming from. i mean, he loved his father so much, a total lay his life on the line deal. but when his father made humans, and lucifer saw all the flaws and horrible things humans did, he refused to love them, and his father was all like, "i'll count to three. one, two, three! now im going to make your brother send you to hell to become satan." although, lucifer did take it to an extreme a little bit, but most supernatural things are extremists, according to this show. plus, lucifer has some of the best sarcasm and one liners iv'e heard.

Also, I totally get where Pellegrino's Lucifer is coming from. In a Biblical world of absolute morality where everyone is judged on an objective scale of good and evil, it must be unspeakably bitter for those unfairly labeled evil and unworthy to be given disproportionately great punishment. It's like being part of a moral "lower caste" despite not having done anything to deserve it That's exactly the case in Milton's Paradise Lost, where Lucifer begins his descent into evil and vengefulness from a place of pain and betrayal.

That is how I always justify Lucifer t my religious friends. Like, how would you like you creator, your father, your hero, make you bow to a lesser creation, serve them. I'd say hell no. Like if my mother said to bow and serve the roaches of the world, I'd say no. Thus being struck down, create my own vile creatures to rival my mother's because I was extremely upset and betrayed, All plausible. Then he just soaked in his own juices so long he then embodied all that the humans were, the evil and the mishap, the sin.
It's about obedience he should whatever GOD says that's the test and that's the story satan was stubborn in my religion we don't believe satan was ever an angel we believe he was the first demon and he made them bad so u can't justify that piece of shit especially since his purpose is to make all humans go to hell with him

I completely agree with mark. If your own father, the person you look to for wisdom when your conflicted or security when your scared, tells you to bow down to a new creation that was capable of so much bad what would you do? Then when you expressed how you felt about the matter with him, he sees you as un just and of sin.
If I can embrace Mark's discussion "You're serving. You're not a servant. Serving is a supreme art. God is the first servant. God serves men but he's not a servant to men." The same goes for Angels. Lucifer in the Supernatural Universe felt betrayed because The Mark (or Amara) persuaded him he knew better than God and did not understand why God would create an imperfect race in his image. Then Lucifer's interpretation of serving humanity made him assume God was telling him and the rest of his Angels to love his imperfect creations above God. Much like Sam Lucifer could love his father, but feels confused why saving lives is more important than preserving their own life.

I love the story of Lucifer in general, to be honest. I don't personally know Lucifer of course lol, so i couldn't actually love him and if I did, it'd be unrequited love xD But I really do find him fascinating. I always have. I was the tiny kid in Sunday school who, when asked what my favorite part of the bible was, would quip "I like hearing about Lucifer." "Oh, and his sins?" "No, teacher/pastor, his whole life. We blame him a lot when it's really our choice to do things and God seems kind of bullyish sometimes." I'd go on tangents to my mother and she'd be like, you'll understand and stop questioning when you're older. And as an adult, I still feel the same way, still curious and unable to blindly follow. Looking back I laugh but it got really awkward and embarrassing being the kid who asked too many questions and it kind of went downhill after a little while. So supernatural playing up this storyline is so exciting to me. Now I have something to do with all my thoughts and questions and I can just ask Mark Pellegrino about Luci lol.

I've read 'Paradise Lost' in the past. Watching Season 5, it was easy to tell where they got Lucifer's justifications for what he was intending to do. The first episode of the season had probably the most fitting title for what the show's producers were aiming for. He may be the Devil, but they definitely wanted people to have sympathy for him.

To the current season and what we have learned. Lucifer got betrayed harshly. The mark of cain, when Lucifer had it began to corrupt him and turn him into a vile evil thing. ( it was said in the show.) And God couldn't stand to see his child this way so he tossed him away. Giving all these reasons but the truth was that he couldn't bare to see his son becoming so corrupt. ( Similar to how Dean was getting corrupted by the Mark )

Lucifer's problem was that he was never able to get over his dad. Once he realized his dad was a dick who was only interested in his own entertainment, he should've just forgotten him and tried to go off and heal, find something that makes him happy. But he couldn't let go and kept running around "breaking daddy's toys" not realizing that God didn't care.

I loooooove the scenes where he’s REALLY angry. Like the scene where Jack rejects him and then kills Michael. Just before that, Lucifer have them his best sonic boom-yell with the red eyes. It was awesome.
Mark is an awesome and interesting person to watch and listen to.
Jared Padalecki is known as Sam and most likely always will be since he doesn't have much talent acting as anything else. Even as Samifer he wasn't that good at being Lucifer but instead acted like soulless Sam with a hint of gentleness.(This is just my opinion I mean no offense to his fans nor him.)
Mark Pellegrino not only knows of Lucifer but understands him enough to portray him perfectly not just from a Supernatural point of view but Biblical as well(I was raised Christian but became Wiccan. Mark's Lucifer is the only one I'll see from now on whenever hearing about him.) The characters Mark has played all have a little bit of him in them but they are also different in their own way whether it be how they walk, talk, react, or their alignment he plays it all.
Lucifer himself must be proud of Pellegrino portraying him I'm ecstatic that they brought him back.(right after I finished season 5 too but I'm almost done with season 6)
I would do anything for a chance to work alongside him but the only chance I have is if they need another woman to play another daughter of Dean(I was raised on chevrolet and classic rock) or I could be the new Jesus alongside Lucifer's son.
